Job Description

Inside the Role
The Product Validation Engineering (PVE) vehicle integration team is responsible for sub-system and full vehicle electrical and electronic validation of DTNA products. This includes our Freightliner, Western Star, Medium Duty and Electrical Vehicles platforms.
This position is part of the Cab Electrical team within PVE that is responsible for Driver Comfort and Controls, Interior/Exterior Lighting, HVAC Controls, Telematics, Infotainment and Connectivity, PowerNet and High Voltage Systems.
Our validation is conducted in the workshop, on the road, and at offsite testing facilities. This team interfaces with many departments in the organization including TT/S, Cab and Chassis Engineering
Your role focuses on two areas: HMI feature validation ownership and validation and support for current and future architecture. You will be responsible for defining and executing the validation strategy for future architecture technologies as well as aligning the overall strategy with TT/S and other partners. You will also be responsible for on-vehicle validation of cluster specific features and provide technical support for both HMI Evo 2.0 and the new Digital IC project.

Position offers a starting salary range of $117,000.00 - $150,000.00 USD

What You Drive at DTNA
  • Create test plans that outline main inputs and outputs to fulfill validation requirements for cluster specific features related to HMI Evo 2.0 and the new Digital IC
  • Lead or participate in strategic department initiatives within the department stretching over projects, areas of continuous improvement and process initiatives
  • Provide mentoring to new engineers as they join the Cab Team, especially as it relates to the technical aspects of the digital clusters.
  • Lead validation concept activities together with TT/S verification and validation responsible engineers for future architecture technologies
  • Develop concepts for validation efficiency by aligning vehicle validation activities for different software classes with other testing methodologies
  • Develop sign-off criteria for software only features and mixed ECU software updates focused on future architecture technologies (pull ahead to SW only features)
  • Align test and sign off criteria with goals of 3 months to production software for future architecture technologies
  • Support alignment of development verification, SiL, HiL and vehicle validation processes, documentation and tools
  • Lead future architecture Demonstrator vehicle physical buildup activities
  • Coordinate resources to support Demonstrator in Portland
Knowledge You Should Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or Computer Engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience
  • At least three years of design or validation experience related to Mechatronics topics
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within previous roles related to projects or small workgroups
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks on hand
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to create an overview of testing required and present as a plan
  • Ability to develop conclusions from validation of features, report results and track issues
  • Ability to work with vehicle based measurement systems and logging devices

The Battery Validation Engineer will be responsible for enabling innovation through quick testing and characterization of battery components and systems. This individual will define test plans, execute them safely, and report results in order to successfully validate Ford’s next generation of EV batteries.

What you'll do.

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute battery pack validation tests covering various categories including performance, durability, and abuse

  • Author test scripts for equipment including cyclers, chambers, chillers, and DAQ systems

  • Own data storage and visualization

  • Analyze test data and generate test reports, evaluating compliance with requirements and identifying issues or opportunities for improvement

  • Work alongside systems engineers to define requirements

  • Work alongside cell engineers to define test profiles and correlate cell and pack results

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience.

  • Advanced level of Python programming

  • Familiarity with computer / system / SoC architecture

You will be part of the SOC Silicon Validation team doing system level validation developing software to validate high speed IO IP blocks working closely with SiVal, FW, Architecture and Design teams. The activities include but not limited to defining validation plans, bring up, debug SOC issues and coordinating to run tests.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ A minimum of a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience in silicon validation software engineering or related field
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Experience with Embedded system is required
+ Familiar with SoC and System architecture.
+ Knowledge and experience working with board schematics.
+ Experience with using test equipment and analyzers (USB, PCIe, DP, I2C) is required.
+ High knowledge and experience with High Speed interfaces such USB-PD, USB2.0, USB3.0, Thunderbolt 3, USB4.0, PCIE or DP is required.
+ Proven experience in silicon bring-up, debugging, validation, and characterization.
+ In-depth understanding of PHY design, architecture, adaptations, and equalization techniques.
+ Strong hands-on software programming skills with a focus on embedded systems; proficiency in C programming is essential.
+ Skilled in scripting, with a preference for Python, to automate testing and data analysis.
