We are currently seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join our team in Hamden, CT.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

TheProcess Engineer is responsible for developing and improving manufacturing processes to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost standards of the business. Utilization of skills to continuously improve the manufacturing process eliminating wasteful activities. Individual is expected to interact in collaboration with manufacturing and engineering teams in Hamden and global facilities to achieve business goals. The candidate must be open to being mentored while continually drive to perform to maximum potential.

  • Communicate effectively while spending most of the time hands-on in the production floor working with the team to learn, solve process issues, reduce scrap levels, and continuously improve.
  • Learn, maintain, and improve existing manufacturing processes.
  • Aim to become the technical leader for the assigned areas.
  • Develop assembly line and processes, write work instructions.
  • Design, test, and deploy tooling and automation.
  • Work closely with external suppliers and manufacturers on new equipment and processes
  • Prepare equipment and systems specifications.
  • Understand process step cycle times, efficiencies, yields.
  • Be an agent of change in a fast paced, diverse environment.
  • Participate in DFMs, FMEAs and risk assessment activities.
  • Work with team to define critical product/process parameters relating to product documentation nominals and tolerances and they are related to process functions.
  • Evaluate Safety and Occupational risk.
  • Propose and implement cost reduction activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor'sdegree in Mechanical Engineering. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 5-10years of work experience in a fast paced, fully automated environment.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to highly technical questions.
  • Ability to solve technical problems and deal with a variety of variables where only limited standardization exists with little to no supervision.
  • Ability to communicate and relay manufacturing information across continents.
  • Working knowledge of solid modeling tools, (Creo, Solid Works, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of MS Suite of products (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills ability to analyze situations, identify cause, and effect relationships.
  • Bilingual, Spanish and/or Mandarin is a plus
  • Experience in automation equipment, mechanically inclined
  • Lean manufacturing experience or exposure to lean concepts is a plus.

What You Will Do:

  • Perform dimensional and visual inspections following standardized methods and established techniques, which may involve surface plate work, or standard measuring techniques to verify accuracy of parts, tools, gages or other equipment.
  • Accept or reject material based on findings.
  • Work from applicable written inspection procedures drawings and other pertinent instructions to plan and perform dimensional and visual inspection on parts tools, gages and other equipment, accepting material or referring for rework or quality review based on findings.
  • Use a variety of fixed and variable measuring instruments including automated measuring machines where program instructions are well defined to check dimensions and record results. Perform necessary mathematical computations to determine extent of nonconformance and complete appropriate paperwork.
  • Follow proper procedures to perform in-line checks and verification of dimensions and make sure that operation sheets are being followed.
  • Recognize need and arrange for repair or replacement of equipment used in performing the work as necessary.
  • Perform routine servicing throughout assigned area following specified procedures and written instructions such as inspector's check list for upkeep and assure equipment operates properly. Assist others who are responsible for specialized inspection processes such as those found in statistical process control or other similar quality assurance programs, the investigation of unusual non-changed inspection sequences and other specialized assignments within conformance and new or changed inspection sequences and other specialized assignments within the scope and skill level of this job description.
  • Refer difficulties to leader/supervisor. May be assigned to carry out tasks, not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individuals' skills.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • Must be able to make arithmetical calculations involving the use of decimals and fractions, angles, and apply substitution of numbers in simple formulas.

Job Description: Global Steering Systems (GSS) Manufacturing Automation & Controls Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Assist new products team with determining requirements and cost estimates for machines that are built in-house and by outside suppliers. Ensure compliance of the GSS, Watertown machine specification for new acquisitions and retrofits.
  • Designs, develops, tests, sources, cost justifies, and installs various tools, devices, modifications, fixturing, machinery and equipment for production to increase safety, throughput, quality, capacity, and reliability. Manage the completion of those projects from conception through evaluation, justification, purchase, and implementation.
  • Lead projects, create timing plans, design control systems, create schematics, order components, write programs, debug machines and provide support after launch.
  • Coordinate with all levels of the organization to meet project timing and budget
  • Integrate vision inspection, process monitoring, servo control, mechanical inspections, and other devices or processes into new and existing equipment.
  • Champion innovative techniques to improve manufacturing processes.
  • Develop, debug, and validate control systems including electrical, PLC, hydraulic, pneumatic, servo, HMI's, etc.

  • Provide general supervision to outside contractors (electrical, mechanical, PLC programming, etc.) to resolve material and/or equipment problems, research and implement upgrades, new tools and operating procedures.

About the Role

As an Automation Engineering Technician, you will focus on equipment troubleshooting and maintaining material handling equipment (MHE) such as conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, cameras, print and apply labeling systems, scales, HMI systems, PLCs and control cabinets. You will work in mentorship under Automation Engineers and Sr Automation Engineers and part of the Reliability and Maintenance Engineering site team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures
  • Maintain material handling control systems, industrial, motor control systems, servo and frequency drives, and electrical distribution systems

The Quality Assurance Assistant is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day functioning of the Mental Health Waiver program in support of the Community Support Clinicians and the managerial staff by completing the payroll and reports for the self-directed employees, processing provider claims and the resulting check runs, assisting in maintaining the integrity of the eligibility/authorization database, completing and compiling satisfaction surveys. This position will represent ABH and its services in a positive and professional manner and adhere to ABH's best practices, guidelines, policies and procedures as established, promoting ABH as a leader in behavioral healthcare in all interactions and work.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Interacts in a professional and respectful manner with providers and office staff to answer routine inquiries related to the MHW eligibility, authorization and claims process;
  • Completes the weekly payroll and associated reports for the Self-directed Recovery Assistants as needed;
  • Adds new provider claims and uploads and downloads claims files as required;
  • Coordinates with DSS, DHMAS, Gainwell Technologies, MFP and Sandata staff, and maintains a comprehensive knowledge of Mental Health Waiver services with regard to benefits, eligibility, network and referral options, and an understanding of all associated forms;
  • Completes both the Client and the Provider satisfaction survey process by making calls, sending out mailings and tracking the results;
  • Creates new client records by adding eligibility and disposition screens and client demographic information, adds authorizations, updates the various data bases as required.
  • Performs the Project Notify/Connie process;
  • Provides assistance to the CSCs in creating/updating recovery plans, and acts as a liaison between Waiver staff, Gainwell, Sandata and the Providers when there are authorization or payment issues;
  • Provides assistance to the Provider Relations/Credentialing staff as necessary;
  • Manages the toll free line, faxes, and requests for information by tracking calls and referrals and forwarding them to the correct responsible person;
  • Assists with the monthly Eligibility verification, the Provider/Client Surveys and the Monthly notes process;
  • Completes monthly mailings to Client and Providers;
  • Observes policies and procedures related to confidentiality of medical records, release of information and retention of records;
  • Monitors, identifies and reports problems of potential unethical conduct, fraud and/or abuse to QA Supervisor;
  • Employs interpersonal expertise to provide good working relationships with members, providers, facilities and other ABH personnel;
  • Maintains confidentiality of all client protected health information and adheres to all HIPAA related policies and procedures;
  • Demonstrates ethical behavior and cultural sensitivity in all activities involving individuals of diverse backgrounds;
  • Performs other tasks/responsibilities as required/assigned to support the business operations.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Associate degree required or equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities;

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the packaging manager, works with minimal oversight to develop packaging solutions for Edgewell' s personal care product portfolio in Wet Shave (Razors & Blades) packaging. This individual will be the lead packaging engineer in support of major package system changes, material changes, and supply base changes in effort to reduce total cost of goods while still satisfying our customers. This position will serve as a key contributing member on cross functional business teams and support the development of product/package ideas from exploration through feasibility and ultimately implementation. The individual must be a self-starter who will monitor progress against timelines and deliverable due dates.

  • A senior member of the Packaging Engineering team that will partner with both internal and external customers, to ensure that we meet all packaging requirements.
  • Will lead Innovation effort from Concept ideation to implementation.
  • A fast-paced position that will participate in a wide array of packaging events that highlight the ability to problem solve, develop technical reports, and present information.
  • Will lead projects and assist in root cause investigations when necessary.
