A Urologist is sought to join a dynamic, employed multi-specialty group practice, affiliated with one of the nation s top hospitals in Northeastern Ohio.
Bread and Butter Urology-no robotics experience required. Mix of general outpatient/inpatient cases, with call shared among the group. Dialysis center on site.

The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center are seeking a General Urologist to join the Department of Urology Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience.
Position Overview
This is a full-time position at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level focusing on patient care with participation in training medical students and residents. Expertise or interest in quality and process improvement is desired. Opportunities exist for clinical research and/ or clinical administration as a medical director. The candidate must have excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills and be competent in technical, clinical and surgical procedures.
The scope of duties in adult general urology includes diagnosis, consultation, and treatment of adult patients with various disorders of the genitourinary system in the ambulatory and hospital settings, including oncology, stone disease, and male and female voiding dysfunction. The practice is supported by physician assistants and nurse practitioners, a state-of-the-art video urodynamics suite, substantial procedural and office space, and dedicated and experienced clinical staff. There is an opportunity to utilize the da Vinci Robotic System. The OSU Wexner Medical Center offers an excellent opportunity to establish multidisciplinary and outreach programs. The Physician is expected to practice within the established Medical Center and physicians standards of practice.
All OSU faculty participate in quality improvement, practice management, continuing education, and other patient care programs. Patient call is shared on an equal basis with other physicians
Department/Division Overview
The Department of Urology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is nationally recognized by U.S. News amp; World Report (#24) for delivering the highest quality of care for the treatment of urologic conditions. Our mission is to alleviate patient suffering from urologic disorders through an integrative model of extraordinary clinical care, patient-centered discovery and educational innovation in service of the citizens of Ohio and beyond. Our vision is to transform the lives of our patients through this comprehensive approach to urologic practice. The Department of Urology has a rich history and timeline dating back to 1917. Under the leadership of Cheryl Lee, MD, as chair, the Department is composed of six specialty Divisions with 21 adult faculty members and 13 advanced practice providers. Collectively, the Department performs nearly 20,000 clinic and operative procedures, annually. Seven pediatric urologists at Nationwide Childrens Hospital have academic appointments in the Department. Clinical care, research, education, and community service are major priorities, and the Department is engaged in multicenter and multispecialty initiatives. The Department sponsors fellowship programs in Endourology (Endourological Society) and Urologic Oncology (Society of Urologic Oncology) while Nationwide Childrens Hospital sponsors a fellowship in pediatric urology (Society for Pediatric Urology).
Duties and Responsibilities
-Performs surgical procedures where assigned.
-Directs and provides direct and indirect patient care services in both inpatient and outpatient settings; conducts ambulatory clinics; interviews, obtains and reviews medical history of patients; performs physical examinations to access medical or surgical needs; orders special procedures, diagnostic testing, and other ancillary services; responds to consultation requests; determines, prescribes and implements treatment plans and/or medications required; documents all services and instructions provided in the medical record; educates patients and promotes wellness, prevention and early detection by providing materials, resources and services to patients and their families; responds and maintains open communication with referring physicians.
-Performs other duties and/or call assignments as defined by the Chair or her designee.
-Ensures continuing medical educational requirements are met; participates in department, college, medical center and university committees and other service activities.
-Serves as preceptor and provides training of residents, fellows, and students, as well as other members of the health professions team including advanced practice providers.
Requirements
Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), board certified or board eligible in specialization required. Eligible for State of Ohio and DEA licensure.

These faculty will have earned a Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), doctorate (PhD) orother terminal degree in the relevant field. Clinical faculty members are not eligible for tenure and areappointed for terms of three to five years. They may be reappointed to successive terms. Their principal careerfocus is the delivery of exemplary clinical care, and may include teaching, and/or research.
Tenure-Track faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with the titles of assistant professor, associate professor, orprofessor who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure. These faculty will have earned a doctorate(PhD), Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study. Research Faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with the titles of research assistant professor, research associateprofessor, or research professor.
