Full Job Description
Our client, a leading multinational corporation in the
petrochemical industry, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced
Process Engineer, Petrochemical to join their engineering team
in San Antonio, Texas, US . This critical role is focused on
optimizing and improving chemical processes within their manufacturing
facilities to enhance efficiency, safety, and product quality. We are
looking for a dedicated professional with a strong background in
chemical engineering, process design, and troubleshooting in a
large-scale industrial environment. The successful candidate will be
instrumental in driving continuous improvement initiatives and
ensuring operational excellence across complex chemical production
units.
Key Responsibilities: - Optimize
existing chemical processes to improve yield, reduce energy
consumption, and minimize waste.
- Design and implement new
process units, modifications, and expansions, including PFDs, P&IDs,
and equipment specifications.
- Conduct process simulations,
mass and energy balances, and economic evaluations for proposed
projects.
- Troubleshoot operational issues, identify root
causes, and develop effective solutions to maintain continuous
production.
- Monitor process performance, analyze data, and
generate reports on key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Ensure
all process designs and operations comply with safety standards,
environmental regulations, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and R&D teams to
implement process improvements and new technologies.
- Provide
technical support and guidance to plant personnel on process-related
matters.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's
or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited
university.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Process
Engineer in the petrochemical, oil & gas, or chemical manufacturing
industry.
- Strong understanding of chemical engineering
principles, including thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat
transfer.
- Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g.,
Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II) and process modeling.
- Experience with
safety analyses (e.g., HAZOP, LOPA) and environmental compliance
within industrial settings.
- Excellent problem-solving skills,
with a methodical and analytical approach to complex process
challenges.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to
collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Ability to manage
multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure in a dynamic
industrial environment.
