What you'll be doing:
- Size, select, and engineer process valves, actuators, and instrumentation to address customer applications.
- Gather information from customers and teammates to determine the best technical and commercial solution for each opportunity.
- Regularly interact with customers, providing exceptional service and establishing long term mutually beneficial relationships.
- Develop technical expertise about Caltrol solutions that brings value to Caltrol stakeholders.
- Support internal customers (Account Managers, Order Management, Accounting, Shop) to provide support and efficient execution of customer orders.
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts, Account Managers and Business Unit Leaders on key opportunities to determine Caltrol’s scope and sales strategy.
- Maintain positive and productive relationships with Caltrol’s principal suppliers.
- Follow up on quotations, demonstrating an ability to close sales. This may include some negotiations regarding price and/or timeframes without management involvement.
- Participate in the training, onboarding, and mentorship of Caltrol employees.
- Act as a Caltrol product, industry, or application champion displaying thought leadership and proactive training and support.
- Participate in Caltrol’s After Hours customer support program.
- College degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Distribution or relevant military experience AND 5+ years of applicable industry experience.
- Extensive knowledge of process control fundamentals and Caltrol’s products and services.
- Ability to apply technical knowledge of valves, actuators, instrumentation, and control systems to engineer, size, and quote solutions effectively.

The hiring range for this position is $90k-$130k annually plus Quarterly Profit Sharing. This is the base pay scale range Caltrol reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of this posting. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and may vary based on geographic region, skills, qualifications, and experience of the candidate along with the requirements of the position. In addition, you will receive a company performance bonus structured to match the thrill of your success stories.

Work Environment/Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday. Standard business hours. This position is eligible for Caltrol’s hybrid work program allowing remote work for up to two days per week. Application Engineers will be on call occasionally outside of standard business hours as scheduled by the After-Hours program manager, which may require coming into the office and/or working remotely to resolve customer issues.
Physical Demands:
This job will require significant amounts of sitting. A standing desk may be available if accommodations are required. This job requires the use of a computer and a telephone.
Travel:
Less than 20% of the job involves travel; most travel will occur within the Caltrol territory, including local, AZ, CA, NV, and HI. Travel will typically not require overnight stays.

Compensation: CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Application Engineer position is $70,000 annually (or $3.65 per hour) and the maximum salary for the Application Engineer position is 85,000 annually (or 40.86 per hour). The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidates skills, qualifications, and experience.

This role will support and develop solutions for our Planning focused business stakeholders working to improve Supply Chain Operational efficiency, delivery to GE Aerospace direct end customers, and providing high quality, scalable applications for our internal users while also accounting for how the Supply Base interacts and processes supply schedules.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities

Available to quickly respond and resolve critical service outages severely impacting consumers
-
Establish performance baseline, capacity thresholds, correlate events, and define monitoring/alerting criteria
-
Develop automated solutions to address potential problems before they result in a service interruption
-
Provide impact assessment and mitigation plan for changes going into the production environment
-
Investigate root cause of severe and systemic outages, identify corrective actions and apply across the enterprise
-
Develop availability measures that align with consumer experience to accurately assess the usability of crucial services
-
Build capacity models to baseline transactional load compared to resource performance and leverage data to predict overall system capacity while automating load placement to avoid outages
-
Identify thresholds for all critical links in the data path to quickly isolate where imbalances may result in potential outages
-
Analyze failure points in services to model risk level and resolution steps if failure occurs. Assist in driving architecture enhancements into system to mitigate potential failure points

Programmatically monitor for and remediate configuration drift of critical devices
-
Develop response plans to potential failure points and evaluate effectiveness during planned tests
-
Perform comprehensive operational health checks of the entire services to identify areas of concern and track activities to drive improvements at all levels of the architecture

Provide technical coaching and direction to more junior teammates
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from accredited university or college with minimum of 4 years of professional experience OR Associates degree with minimum of 7 years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with minimum of 9 years of professional experience

Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Supply Planning, Supply Chain and overall Planning Modules

Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Oracle EBS development

Additional Information for Candidates in US:
The base pay range for this position is $110,700-$184,600 USD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on August 18th, 2025.
