Main Ingredients of the Job
Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and complete all required repairs on diesel equipment (i.e., tractors, trailers, bobtails, reefers, lift gates, etc.).
Perform preventative maintenance within company standards.
Complete documentation of all repair orders, PM list and parts accountability.
Handle road service calls; perform road rescue/transport equipment as needed.
Keep track of assigned repairs by logging in and out of the Shop Fax system.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations and government guidelines.
Maintain inventory and proper recordkeeping.
Backup to other maintenance shop personnel.
Willingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and certifications.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education/Training:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Related Experience/Requirements:
A valid Class-A CDL license and DOT certified is preferred.
Must have (2) years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic or a combination of both; or 1 years verifiable hands-on experience with either Diesel Mechanic Certification or TK/Carrier Refrigeration Certification or both.
Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs.
Successfully demonstrated independent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Prior experience in administering appropriate PM program.
Must furnish own personal hand tools.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to comply with EPA and OSHA regulations as pertaining to the shop and fleet.
Ability to read and understand technical and service manuals.
Excellent communication skills; able to communicate with co-workers and drivers with demonstrated teamwork skills.
Ability to manage multiple functions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs.
Computer and software experience.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
Must be able to work overtime when needed

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $26 - 28.00
As applicable, this role will also receive overtime compensation, incentive compensation based on productivity and quality, shift differential.

Job Summary: Maintain and repair a wide variety of over the snow equipment including but not limited to snow removal and heavy equipment, snow grooming machines, snowmobiles, lift APU's and generators. Oversee operations of the shop, prioritize daily tasks and assist other mechanics. Communicate with shop manager to meet expectation goals and maintain a safe working environment.
The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC's hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.
Base hourly pay range: $36.39 - $47.31 per hour

Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following: other duties may be assigned:
- Inspect, diagnose & repair vehicles and equipment for safe and dependable operation.
- Perform preventative maintenance, lubrication and adjustments according to manufacturer's guidelines on snow removal machines, heavy equipment, snowmobiles, and other company vehicles.
- Repair, remove and/or replace necessary parts to keep vehicles in operation. This is done both in shop and out on hill.
- Perform major overhauls on all types of gasoline and diesel engines, gear boxes, differentials, and transmissions.
- Perform metal repairs/fabrication using all types of welding and cutting tools.
- Communicate with department heads and employees regarding equipment problems and repairs.
- Complete work orders on all vehicles.
- Maintain equipment, parts and supplies inventory and conserves resources by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipate equipment, parts and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Mend damaged body parts.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area, follows OSHA safety procedures and guidelines.
- Assist with vehicle and equipment operator orientation and training.
- Follow and adhere to all Hazmat compliance and Spill Prevention Control & Counter measurement Plan (SPCC)
- Able to perform under pressure in adverse conditions and willingness to tackle any odd job that comes up.

- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 7 years mechanical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Mechanical experience in Automotive, Truck, Bus, Heavy Equipment, or Fleet diagnostics and repair
- Strong experience with diagnostic tools and computers
- Able to diagnose and repair electrical and computer systems problems on modern vehicles.
- Able to diagnose and repair major mechanical systems on modern vehicles.
- Valid driver's license
- Knowledge of all typical shop equipment
- Welding and fabrication background
- Extensive air system and air brake knowledge
- Extensive hydraulic system experience
- Ability to read both electrical and hydraulic schematics.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions:
Indoor/Outdoor : While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently be exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee will frequently be exposed to extreme cold, wetness and/or humidity, and occasionally blizzards and extreme storm conditions.
Hazardous Materials/Noise : The noise level in the workplace is usually moderate. Hazardous materials include petroleum products, fuel and waste products.
