Overview:

The Business Development Manager is responsible for prospecting and selling new business and supporting the development of ongoing business relationships with designated clients. Will serve as the primary business contact for new and designated existing clients and will consistently provide excellent client service to all accounts, represent client needs and goals to ensure superior service and quality, while fostering strong relationships with key client contacts to identify and encourage repeat and new business opportunities.

This position can be hired as a Remote position and will require national travel as needed to support the responsibilities of the position.

Responsibilities:

  • Continuously identify and generate new strategic revenue growth by constantly qualifying new clients and markets.
  • Establish, build, and maintain client relationships resulting in continuous profitable revenue growth in alignment with companies’ objectives.
  • Primary liaison between client and the company - oversee entire sales cycle including prospecting, evaluating, developing, proposing, negotiating, and closing sales then ensuring client satisfaction and retention through implementation and A/R collections when necessary.
  • Provide superior account management service & leadership by collaborating with teams within our company in support of client needs - both external and internal.
  • Achieve annual sales quotas for both new and designated existing clients. Attend client meetings/events, trade and other relevant industry networking events to promote business, which may require travel.
  • Prepare sales prospecting and development reports (ex: prospect qualification notes, account notes, and other reporting as requested, etc.). Maintain accurate sales forecast and other documentation.
  • Quote prices and credit terms within limits and prepare sales contracts.
  • Compile lists of prospective new clients for use as sales leads, based on information from numerous and varied resources.
  • Mentor and lead other teammates in a team selling approach when applicable.
  • Participate in annual revenue, gross profit, and expense budgeting process for designated existing accounts and revenue projections for new clients.
  • Ensure client-required documents are obtained and administered internally for timely invoicing.
  • Define specific client need by leading individual or team discovery process with client participation. Identify aspects such as:

  • Gather and ensure accurate account and contact information in Salesforce to support marketing and business development efforts.

  • Mine undeliverable and bounced emails. Leverage information to drive information clean up to support ongoing accurate contact information.
  • Categorize leads generated from marketing campaigns as sales dis-qualified, sales accepted, or sales qualified opportunities, and assist with moving qualified leads into the sales cycle or marketing funnel
  • Generate a list of leads by territory for sales outreach; review SQLs with the BD team and help document sales activity and outcomes in the CRM (e.g., SalesForce).
  • Source, ingest, data cleanse, and maintain events and industry trade show lists; forward new hot leads to BD team and initiate follow-up from events within SLA of 2-3 business days
  • Set up and manage outbound email cadences in SFDC for the BD team; This includes working with rev ops to report on the success of the campaigns via key metrics.
  • Assist with LinkedIn Sales Navigator set up, administration, and training;
  • Leverage business acumen about industry, ASCs, RCM, and competitors to contribute to sales and growth opportunities;
  • Establish clear processes for monitoring leads/MQLs and measuring results; collaborate on training to improve internal practices and to address any knowledge gaps
  • Provide analytics reviews and reporting for sales cadences, monthly business reviews, weekly events debriefs, and other reporting as needed.

About:

The main responsibility of the Business Development Manager is to pursue new business for the company. This role is intended to develop trusting work relationships with prospective and existing clients while driving growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities at the General Contractor, Developer, and Owner level. The Business Development Manager will focus on researching prospects, initiating engagement, presenting the company's value proposition, and transitioning clients to the engineering team for project execution. This position will report to the Director of Sales and work closely with Account Executives and other relevant internal teams to achieve growth with target accounts. The ideal candidate will possess technical understanding coupled with strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to influence and build relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing accounts and new client prospects.
  • Develop outreach strategies to engage, acquire, and influence new accounts.
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, potential clients, and new verticals for expansion.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking engagements to build brand awareness and generate leads.
  • Craft a powerful message that highlights NDBS's Value Proposition and present it to potential clients.
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to create targeted campaigns and messaging for new business acquisition.
  • Track and report on sales performance metrics, forecasting revenue, and maintaining an up-to-date CRM.

Account Management:

  • Cultivate relationships with general contractors, developers, and project owners, serving as a trusted advisor.
  • Regularly meet with clients to review performance and identify opportunities for NDBS's services.
  • Monitor account health, resolve relationship issues, and act as a problem-solver to address client concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Transition clients seamlessly to the project design teams once project opportunities are secured.
  • Provide market insights and client feedback to internal teams to align strategies and optimize offerings.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and work with the team to optimize service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Strong ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to take initiative in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills (oral and written)
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or a related field within the construction, engineering, or design-build industries.
  • Technical understanding of engineering or construction concepts, with the ability to present at a high level.
  • Willingness to travel 50% or more to meet clients, attend events, and expand market presence.

  • Sales Strategy Development:
    Develop and execute sales strategies to meet company objectives and sales targets. Tailor proposals, presentations, and product offerings to meet the unique needs of clients in the manufacturing and distribution industry.
  • Collaborate with Internal Teams:
    Work closely with marketing, preconstruction, operations, and engineering teams to ensure that client requirements and industry standards are met in all manufacturing processes and solutions.
  • Revenue and Growth Target Achievement:
    Take responsibility for meeting and exceeding revenue targets, both short-term and long-term, by acquiring new clients and expanding existing accounts. Align business development and sales with corporate strategic priorities to ensure annual growth projections.
  • Reporting and Analysis:
    Provide regular reports on business development activities, pipeline status, and sales progress to senior management. Use data and analytics to forecast future sales and business opportunities.
  • Networking and Representation:
    Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to build brand awareness and generate new business leads.
  • Product Knowledge:

Qualifications
