SUMMARY:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) plays a vital role in ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the organization, while upholding its mission to serve underserved communities. The CFO will have a deep understanding of healthcare finance, regulatory requirements, and a strong commitment to the mission of providing quality healthcare to underserved populations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Financial Management: Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and financial analysis.
- Strategic Planning: Work closely with the executive team to develop and implement financial strategies and plans that align with the FQHC's mission and goals, ensuring sustainability and growth.
- Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and reporting requirements, particularly those specific to FQHCs.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present accurate financial reports to the board of directors, stakeholders, and executive team, providing insights for decision-making.
- Internal Controls: Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard financial assets and ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage the finance team, fostering a collaborative and professional environment.
- Revenue Cycle Management: Oversee revenue cycle management, including billing, claims submission, and payment collection.
- Grant Management: Coordinate and manage grant funding and reporting.
- Collaboration: Work with other departments to support the FQHC's overall mission of providing comprehensive health services.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS :
- Financial Expertise: Strong knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting, financial analysis, and healthcare finance.
- FQHC Experience: Prior experience in an FQHC or similar healthcare setting is highly preferred.
- Leadership and Management:?Proven experience leading and managing teams.
- Analytical and Strategic Thinking: Ability to analyze financial data, interpret strategic vision into operational models, and make sound decisions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of regulations specific to FQHCs, such as HRSA/BPHC regulations.
- Education: Master's degree or CPA preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of management theories and practices. Experience with budget preparation and financial management with 8 to 10 years experience in health care operations.
