Oversee activity related to environmental regulations affecting company products, ensuring internal stakeholders are apprised of proposed and pending regulations, interact with external stakeholders and regulatory bodies during the development of regulations, and direct lobbying activities on federal and state legislative and regulatory processes.
Position Responsibilities
- Allied industry partners (trade associations and NGOs)
- Assist with organization and preparation of charts, graphics, and narrative presentations
- Lead/assist in developing and coordinating the message
- Track and manage lobbying on incentive programs and state energy efficiency resource standards
- Report on current industry trends, business news and environmental issues.
- Analyze, lobby and advise on legislation/regulation; Provide concise written or oral summaries, note areas of interest/issue, possible amendments or alternatives, recommendation on ways to work issue and follow up promotion or education.
- Oversee and manage specific legislative and regulatory projects to support Daikins North American strategy and for subsidiary companies. Develop strategy and implementation plans, coordination schedule and execution.
- Integrate companys primary short and long term legislative and regulatory goals.
- Assist with high priority projects and special events.
- Interact with industry trade association staff and committees to develop industry position for the regulations.
- Interact with other stakeholders such as environmental advocates, governmental regulatory agencies, utilities and utility organizations in regard to environmental regulations.
- Company representation / participation in key technical and regulatory committees for environmental standards and regulations affecting company products.
- Offer regulatory evaluation and opinions on rulemakings and provide regulatory assessment to management, including technical aspects of such federal environmental (EPA) regulations, building codes requirements (such as ICC and IAPMO), voluntary green building requirements (e.g. USGBC), state and building code environmental requirements, industry association activities (such as ASHRAE and AHRI).
- Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs .
- Understands the business and can put together comprehensive department solutions .
- Works with other leaders to establish strategic plans and works towards achieving them.
- Provides leadership and direction to managers in their respective division/department.
- Sees to department staffing needs (e.g. interviewing, hiring, new hire and ongoing training, annual evaluations, etc.).
- Work closely with the Government Relations, Communications, and Engineering and Manufacturing teams.
- Strong regulatory knowledge
- Capable of comprehending written regulations and how the regulations does/would affect the companys products and processes.
- Ability to use good judgment in investigating problems.

- Must have good technical understanding of both residential and commercial HVAC systems and their applications.

- Ability to apply good judgment, strong work ethic, and integrity on the job.

- A fast learner with a willingness to execute long term projects.
- Knowledge of EPA regulations in relation to the Clean Air Act is a plus.
- 5 plus years of related experience (environmental regulations, industry affairs)
- Bachelor's Degree, (Masters Degree a plus)

Summary of Position
Develops, manages, and provides technical and advisory services on university environmental health and safety programs that involve the anticipation, recognition, evaluation, and control of associated risk and hazards on campus. Assures assigned programs comply with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations and standards. Responds to, evaluates, and provides remediation of complaints, inquiries, and emergencies on campus.
Ensures the daily function of operations and services related to any assigned program, initiative, or objective. Works under general supervision and may make some work procedural decisions which do not contravene policies; generally, determines work sequences (which task comes first) within any department/divisional guidelines. Exercises professional judgment to prioritize competing demands and allocate resources effectively to meet departmental goals. Serves as a subject matter expert and resource person for the assigned area.
Position Information
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Serves as the principal contact for the Chemical Management Center (CMC), the chemical hygiene plan, and hazardous waste program as well as radiation, laser, hazardous communication, respiratory protection, bloodborne pathogens, and other regulated hazardous materials campus-wide; responsible for laboratory chemical inventory and safety data sheets; responds to all related requests for information or technical assistance and visits laboratories and other areas when necessary; assists with problem resolution and provides interpretation, clari?cation, and/or review of standards, rules, policies, or programs; proactively addresses workplace safety and health issues.
Serves as the university's Chemical Hygiene Officer, Radiation Safety O?cer, Laser Safety Officer, Infection Control Officer, and Certified Hazardous Materials Shipper. Conducts inspections and identifies hazards. Provides and implements solutions and intervention strategies for environmental, health, and safety hazards including PPE evaluations.
Manages the Hazardous Waste Program to ensure compliance with the Ohio EPA and DOT and other regulatory agencies; performs waste pickups and deliveries with laboratories, maker spaces, facilities, and other areas as needed. Coordinate hazardous waste shipments and ensure compliance with all regulations. Responsible for all satellite waste accumulation areas on campus. Perform laboratory analysis and research on chemical compatibility to ensure proper handling of waste and segregation of waste streams. Update and create waste profiles as necessary. Maintain chemical and biohazard spill supplies and personal protective equipment. Assures that the necessary supplies are available when needed.
Operates and/or calibrates sound level meters, air sampling pumps, gas indicators, air velocity measuring instruments, and other testing and sampling equipment; measures environmental conditions; ascertains that sites are free of recognized health hazards.
Responds to campus emergencies as needed that may involve potentially hazardous materials, providing first aid evaluation and treatment, and assisting injured workers?Leads incident investigations as requested and develops written reports to include root cause and corrective actions. Assists with inspection of safety critical equipment campus wide including AEDs, first aid kits, eye wash stations, and emergency showers; reports deficiencies and coordinates repair/service as needed.
Develops and updates written related programs to maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations and standards. Trains and educates the university community on departmental protocols. Stays knowledgeable of changes to safety codes and regulations; researches best practices of related issues impacting the university.
Prepares reports outlining results of inspections where work related hazards were found; drafts speci?c ?ndings of safety and health regulations, and where necessary implements measures necessary to correct hazards. Places replacement equipment work orders or assists departments to place work orders as needed.
Acts as a lead worker; provides functional guidance to lower-level workers.
Analyzes complex data sets and prepares comprehensive reports with recommendations for leadership.
Researches and recommends process improvements for departmental operations on a routine or regular basis. Evaluates effectiveness and recommends enhancements of services.
Participates and/or leads complex projects, including implementation plans, timelines, and resource requirements.
Coordinates daily tasks related to one or more assigned components of overall programs and/or services as assigned.
Regularly communicates with supervisor and other staff, including student workers, as required or needed in the completion of daily tasks in support of overall goals and objectives.
Prepares and maintains accurate records of daily tasks in accordance with applicable policies and procedures and assures timely communication with supervisor, staff, and students where appropriate.
Gathers data and prepares reports and other information/documentation for supervisory review?related to programs and/or services, or one or more assigned components.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of: relevant regulations such as OSHA, EPA, and ANSI; Department of Homeland Security (DHS), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Ohio Department of Health (ODH) and Public Employment Risk Reduction Program (PERRP) regulations; basic industrial hygiene equipment such as personal air pumps, direct reading air monitoring equipment, noise dosimeters, IAQ meters, and others; industrial and/or construction safety including but not limited to con?ned space, hot work, fall protection, lockout tagout, respiratory protection, hearing conservation; chemical and biological lab safety and health including but not limited to bloodborne pathogens, radiation and laser safety, hazard communication, hazardous waste management; university policies and procedures*; office practices and procedures; department/division goals and objectives*; department/division policies and procedures*; workplace safety practices and procedures*; English grammar and spelling; records management; office management; project management.

The Manager, Compliance plays a key role in ensuring Cleerly's products, services, and operations meet global regulatory and quality requirements. This role requires in-depth knowledge of the medical device product development lifecycle, including design controls, safety and cybersecurity risk management, and usability engineering. Strong experience with Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) is essential, along with the technical depth and regulatory understanding to support compliance in a fast-paced, software-driven environment. This position requires a strong individual contributor and team collaborator who demonstrates critical thinking, problem-solving, and cross-functional coordination skills. The Manager, Compliance will work closely with functions across Quality, Regulatory, R&D, Operations, and Core Lab to promote a culture of compliance, continuous improvement, and audit readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure ongoing compliance of Cleerly's products, services, and operations with internal QMS processes and applicable global regulatory standards, including ISO 13485, 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 14971, IEC 62304, and EU MDR.
- Collaborate closely with Regulatory, Quality, Operations, Product Development, and Core Lab teams to align systems and processes that support compliance throughout the product lifecycle.
- Lead and participate in internal audits, proactively identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Promote a state of continuous readiness ("always audit ready") across Cleerly's departments through training, awareness, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Serve as an interface for external audits and inspections (e.g., FDA, Notified Bodies, etc.), including planning, front- and back-room management, and response coordination.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Regulatory Compliance Specialist to join our Quality & Compliance team. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring our products meet regulatory standards and certification requirements across key global markets. Your work will support third-party compliance, quality documentation, and product certifications for a diverse range of product lines.
Key Responsibilities:- Support regulatory compliance efforts related to UL and CSA standards.
- Coordinate third-party factory audits and follow up on corrective actions to address audit findings and resolve variations.
- Plan, schedule, and support product testing in alignment with AGA and ECE e4 regulatory requirements.
- Maintain communication with testing laboratories and certification bodies to ensure smooth and timely compliance processes.
- Manage and maintain product certification records and compliance documentation in a controlled Quality Record system.
- Ensure documentation accuracy and support internal and external audits.
- Highschool degree required.
- Associates degree or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, quality assurance, or certification coordination.
- Familiarity with UL, CSA, AGA, and ECE e4 certification processes.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- General knowledge of engine components preferred.
- Experienced with Microsoft Office Tools Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience working with engineering design and test standards.
- Proficiency with document control platforms.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
