We are hiring substitutes in Lake Hamilton School District. No previous experience is required!

Substitute teachers may also be referred to as substitute educator, guest teacher, or relief teacher. Substitute aides may also be referred to as paraprofessionals, education technicians, teacher's aide, instructional assistant, classroom assistant or education assistant.

Minimum Requirements:
• 18+ years of age
• High school diploma or GED
• Arkansas Division of Elementary & Secondary Education background clearance (out-of-pocket, non-refundable expense required)
Substitute Pay Rates:
• Teacher and Librarian: $85 to $05 per day
• Paraprofessional and Clerical: $1 .25 per hour
Responsibilities and Job Description(s):
• Assume duties of the district employee in accordance with school district lesson plans, school rules, and Kelly policies
• Empower students to learn, and encourage classroom participation
• For long-term teacher assignments, it may be required to develop lessons plans, as well as build, administer, and grade tests and assignments

About Young STEAMers
Young STEAMers is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) enrichment to kids from low-income families. Our programs are designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and confidence in science through engaging, hands-on activities.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Classroom Management Trainer to help equip our instructors with strategies for effectively engaging and managing students in our STEAM classes. Many of our instructors have strong science backgrounds but may not have formal teaching experience. Your role will be essential in helping them create a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver training sessions on classroom management best practices.
- Provide strategies for engaging students, handling disruptions, and fostering a positive learning atmosphere.
- Offer ongoing support, coaching, or feedback to Young STEAMers instructors as needed.
- Create written guidelines or resources to support instructors in their classroom interactions.
- Share insights on working with diverse student populations, particularly those from under-served backgrounds.
Qualifications
- Experience in teaching, education, youth development, or instructional coaching.
- Strong understanding of classroom management techniques and student engagement strategies.
- Passion for working with children and making STEAM education accessible.
- Ability to train and mentor others in a collaborative and supportive manner.
- Experience working with diverse and underrepresented communities is a plus.
