**Job Description**
We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to operate CNC Mills and Lathes, assist with machine setups, and ensure production parts are on schedule. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of G&M codes, Fanuc controls, and be capable of performing quality inspections using manual measuring equipment.
**Responsibilities**
+ Operate CNC Mills and Lathes, including vertical and horizontal machines (Mori Seiki, Okuma, Okuma Howa, Doosan).
+ Assist with machine setups.
+ Edit programs using G&M Codes and Fanuc controls to ensure machines are running correctly.
+ Run production parts and maintain schedule adherence.
+ Track production sheets (currently paper-based, transitioning to digital).
+ Perform quality inspections using manual measuring equipment and complete quality sheets.
+ Troubleshoot machine and program issues.
+ Assist other machinists while parts are running.
+ Utilize overhead cranes to lift larger parts in and out of machines.
**Essential Skills**
+ 3+ years of CNC Machining experience (Mill or Lathe).
+ Strong understanding of G&M codes to adjust feeds and speeds.
+ Experience in changing inserts and tooling.
+ Proficiency in quality inspection using micrometers, calipers, and depth gauges.
+ Blueprint reading skills.
+ Ability to perform basic preventative maintenance on machines, such as checking oil levels and lubricants.

**Job Summary:**
In this position, you will learn to adequately perform the duties and responsibilities of the Rotor Cell team certified operator occupation.
**Essential Functions:**
+ Process rotors through various machining, EDM, and supporting operations in a team-oriented cell.
+ Responsible for maintaining cell inventory.
+ Set up and operate numerically controlled machines and other equipment.
+ Make and verify any necessary corrections to program, set up, tooling and machine settings with the assistance of the Supervisor and/or Manufacturing Engineer.
+ Use various gauges when required.
+ Provide a finish in accordance with the manufacturing outline and blueprint requirements including but not limited to removal of burrs and edge breaks.
+ Saw material as necessary.
+ Clean and move parts as necessary.
+ Pass an annual eye exam.
+ Responsible for product verification and process control including using necessary measuring devices.
+ Keep charts and records as required on completed sequences and processes.
+ Rotate to different workstations within the cell
+ Perform required rework, secondary operations, routine maintenance per Appendix A, and appropriate safety checks in the cell.
+ Document all non-conformances through specified data collection procedures.
+ Inspect work and verify that product meets all appropriate standards at each operational step in the cell.
+ Complete all required paperwork.
+ Ensure all material is properly cleaned, identified, protected, and stacked prior to movement.

**Job Purpose:**
Competitive starting pay range $20-$2.50/hr, eligible 1.00 increase at 1 year, quarterly production bonus 200- 500, and full benefits from day one!
1st shift 4:30 am to 1pm or 5:00 am to 1:30 pm
2nd Shift 4pm to 12:30 am ( 1.50 shift differential after completing training on 1st shift 6 to 8 weeks.)
Overtime available
Progress Rail Machine Operators work with heavy machinery producing railroad track components. They maintain equipment to ensure it operates safely and effectively. Their duties include preparing machinery for daily use, inspecting machinery for safety issues, and producing quality full track panels, turnouts and crossings, as well as build other rail components to customer specifications.

**Key Job Elements:**
- A Machine Operator operates assigned machinery, monitors and optimizing efficiency, does basic maintenance to machines and performs quality checks;
- Performs all assigned machine shop operations; - Set up and operates machines; - Observe machine operations, detect work piece defects and make adjustments to machinery when necessary to improve performance; - Operate machinery and equipment according to work instructions; - Troubleshoot issues and perform routine and minor maintenance. Submit work orders for the maintenance requirements; - Read blueprints or job orders to determine product specification and tooling instructions; - Follows reporting and recordkeeping procedures, and report problems to supervisor; - Clean machinery and maintain cleanliness in work area;
- Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to management;
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures;
**Qualifications and Experience:**
- Prior work experience relevant to the position;
- Basic mathematical skills and proficiency in reading a tape measure;
- Read and interpret blueprints;
- Mechanical and technical aptitude and capacity.
