# Project Overview:
Port Arthur LNG, LLC (PALNG) is developing a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on a site located on the western shoreline of the Port Arthur Canal in Jeferson County, Texas. The project base scope will include two (2) identical LNG trains, two (2) LNG Storage Tanks, one (1) LNG Carrier Berth, and associated utilities/facilities. The Project is to be constructed on a parcel of land located along State Highway 87 south of Port Arthur, Texas, between the inner coastal waterway bridge and Keith Lake. The Infrastructure Global Business Unit (GBU) is executing site civil and marine scopes of work associated with our scopes of work on the Energy GBU LNG projects.
As the #1 LNG EPC contractor by installed capacity, Bechtel has the capability to successfully deliver a broad range of LNG projects through our integrated EPC self-perform model, strategic partnerships, and proven experience in LNG project delivery. The Infrastructure Global Business Unit (GBU) is executing site civil and marine scopes of work associated with our scopes of work on the Energy LNG projects.
# Job Summary:
The Site Work Field Engineer is responsible for providing technical assistance, direction, and support to Bechtel and subcontractor field supervision for construction and installation activities for all disciplines associated with specified area equipment and materials.
# Major Responsibilities:
+ Performing inspections and initiating supporting documentation for all discipline system installations on an ongoing basis.
+ Providing support to field supervision in establishing requirements for workforce, tools, equipment, and material requirements for a given work evolution.
+ Developing installation work packages for scopes of work in support of the construction schedule.
+ Preparing short- and long-term schedules, and interfacing with superintendents and other discipline field engineers.
+ Executing field material takeoffs from "Issued for Construction" drawings.
+ Providing input to the quantity tracking applications and reporting on weekly installed quantities to Project Controls.
+ Actively leading and participating in the 'People Based Quality (PBQ)' and the 'Build it Clean Program.
+ Preparing field material requisitions for equipment and materials, and monitoring status of purchase orders and deliveries.
+ Assisting field procurement in receipt inspection and reporting of associated equipment and materials and preventive maintenance requirements.
+ Trouble-shooting the design, resolving issues with engineering and/or fabricator using formal field documentation processes.
+ Ensuring all installations are per latest revisions of design drawings, specifications, standards, and codes.
+ Completing and verifying quality documentation per inspection and test plans.
+ Completing and reviewing as-built documentation Monitoring actual work performance compared to the project budget and schedule.
+ Providing "day-to-day" direction and coaching to direct reports.
+ Monitors and directs subcontractor activities, through coordination and instruction of subcontractors' management staff within the area of responsibility.
+ Role supports on large projects of high complexity with multiple stakeholders' involvement.
# Planning:
+ Reviews and monitors subcontractor construction schedules, resource charts, and material and equipment requirements.
+ Reviews and approves where necessary, subcontractor construction methods, schedules, staffing charts, and material and equipment requirements.
+ Leads the construction operations impact on external interfaces to ensure they coincide with the overall established schedules.
+ Coordinates with other subcontractors and external stakeholders (or subcontractors) to plan construction schedules.
+ Participates in the review of project controls documents on progress relating to cost and schedule.
+ Prepares/ reviews of field change documents and requests for information.
+ Supports Contracts with verification of change notices and amendments.
+ May assist in the preparation of material and installation portions of subcontract bid packages.
+ Coordinates Contractor material deliveries and storage of materials.
+ Ensures work methods planned and executed safely.
+ Proactively consider continuous learning or show interest to pursue appropriate learning activities.
# Safety/Quality:
+ Monitors installation of materials and equipment to assure conformance with drawings, specifications, vendor, and other requirements.
+ Implements and enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction management.
+ Ensures Zero Accident Philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
+ Develops core understanding of ES&H CPs.
# Technical:
+ Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents.
+ Coordinates engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals.
+ Coordinates with Design on constructability issues.
+ Coordinates the preparation of the testing processes and required test equipment.
+ Inspects installed components for technical acceptance.
+ Participates in development of Commodity Installation means and methods.
+ Develops understanding of industry / International Codes & Standards applicable to work scope.
+ Utilizes and leverages applicable automation software and processes as applicable.
# Education and Experience Requirements:
+ Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
+ Experience on an LNG construction site especially along the U.S. Gulf Coast.
+ Experience in oil, gas, refinery, petrochemical, minerals processing or power generating station construction is preferred.
# Required Knowledge and Skills:
+ Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications.
+ Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
+ Excellent communication and problem-solving ability.
+ Demonstrated ability to manage and lead teams.
+ Maintain, promote, and cultivate a safe work ethic and work environment within the craft.

  • Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, cost, and security, including capacity planning and disaster recovery
  • Manage containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring efficient orchestration and scaling
  • Monitor and maintain cloud infrastructure using advanced logging and monitoring tools, setting up alerts and ensuring rapid incident response
  • Collaborate with development teams to implement microservices and event-driven architectures that align with DevOps principles
  • Lead efforts to enforce cloud security practices, including identity and access management, encryption, and compliance with organizational standards.
  • Evangelize DevOps culture across the organization, providing training and support to teams on best practices and tooling.

To Land This Opportunity

  • You have 5+ years of experience in DevOps or Cloud Engineering, with a proven track record of managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines in a fast-paced environment
  • You are proficient with cloud platforms, with a strong focus on Azure, and experience with AWS or Google Cloud
  • You have expertise in CI/CD pipeline automation, using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
  • You have strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Packer, with a focus on modular and reusable code
  • You are hands-on with containerization and orchestration tools, especially Docker and Kubernetes, including cluster administration
  • You possess a deep understanding of cloud networking, including VPCs, subnets, load balancing, and security configurations
  • You are experienced in cloud security, including IAM, encryption, and security group management, as well as familiarity with SAST/DAST tools
  • You are proficient in cloud monitoring and logging tools, such as ELK Stack, Datadog, and New Relic, for proactive infrastructure management
  • You have a strong background in configuration management, secrets management, and ITSM practices (Change, Knowledge & Incident Management)
