The Construction Project Manager will lead and manage multiple complex construction projects from conception through completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The CMP II will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and various stakeholders to define project objectives, manage resources, and mitigate risks. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to drive projects to successful outcomes in a dynamic and fast-paced construction environment.
Core Responsibilities

- Conduct site visits to document whether construction general contractors are completing their work obligations in a timely manner and to ensure that the quality and condition of the work meets Portillo's Quality Standards
- Coordination with Real Estate Team for status updates on construction projects and/or deliverables to outside trade partners
- Works closely with the New Restaurant Opening team staff and Operations to coordinate building turnover dates, building orientations, warranty related issues and construction defects.
- Coordinating with internal teams as required for project development to include review and processing of invoices and change orders, review and verification of construction bids and trade costs, presents project update reports to internal and external trade partners.

Organization Relationships:

Qualifications:
Educational Level/Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, finance, engineering, business, or similar field experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Work Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- 5 - 8 years' experience in ground up construction, engineering and architecture
- Familiarity with Procore, Smartsheet and Excel or demonstrated ability to learn new software tools
- High level understanding of construction financial processes
- High level knowledge of construction terminology, materials, blueprints, and techniques
- High functioning with Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, Excel, and Word

**Full Time Perm**
**Way of Work** **:** Hybrid - 3 days in office
**Salary** **:** $110,200 - $65,300, plus 10% annual bonus
**Location:** Valparaiso, IN
The Sr. Construction Project Manager ensures adherence to standards to deliver safe and reliable electric service efficiently and economically. You will also oversee the planning, estimation, permitting, scheduling, budgeting, risk analysis, material procurement, land agreements, engineering services, and facilitates the preparation of electric distribution and transmission projects for the bidding process. Additionally, the Sr. Construction Project Manager will play a key role in assisting with contractor selection, monitoring field construction, overseeing in-service facilitation, and managing project close-out. In this role you will maintain open communication, both written and verbal, with peers and leadership, providing regular updates and addressing any concerns.
Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
+ Employing project integration processes to effectively initiate, plan, execute, monitor and control, and effectively transient the project to the customer and ensure project objective accomplishment
+ Integrating competence in the product life cycle components to the definition and management of non-product objectives (safety, cost, schedule, human resource, etc.) Expand competence in integration management to align project resources for optimal productivity. Implements product to project scope configuration management. Applies expanding interpersonal skills to lead, manage, and direct the project management team and project stakeholders.
+ Employing risk management processes to effectively initiate, plan, execute, monitor and control and deliver project objectives
+ Employing cost management proficiencies to effectively estimate, budget, and control costs within project objective (success) parameters for the project
+ Employing schedule management proficiencies to effectively plan, schedule, and deliver the project within the designated project time objective (success) parameters for the project
+ Engage project stakeholders; employs effective strategies in dealing with negative stakeholders and integrate the project objectives with the composite of individual project stakeholder requirements and expectations.
+ Applies effective communication management to manage and control project stakeholders
+ Managing the project in accordance with industry best practices, the NIPSCO Organizational Process Assets, the Project Management Guidelines and Standards
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
+ 10+ years of experience in construction project management or similar background
+ 5+ years of experience managing construction budgets of 1M **Preferred Qualifications**
+ Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)
