Coordinate projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.
Present and explain proposals, reports, and findings to clients.
Recruit employees, assign, direct, and evaluate their work, and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.
Analyze technology, resource needs and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.
Confer with management, production and marketing staff to discuss project specifications and procedures.
Review and recommend or approve contracts and cost estimates.
Target pay for this position is $55-60/HR.

Overview:
The Construction Project Manager is responsible for leading projects, ensuring that all client expectations are met, and managing all aspects of the construction process. General Responsibilities:

  • Manage construction projects from start to finish, ensuring all project goals, objectives, and client expectations are met.
  • Lead a project team, coordinating project requirements and collaborating with various disciplines.

  • Foster and maintain client relationships, ensuring project satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture.
  • 7-10 years of proven project management experience in construction, particularly on large, diverse projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction engineering principles, materials, methods, and estimating.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction laws, contracts, and accounting.
  • Familiarity with insurance-related issues, including claims avoidance.
  • Ability to interpret and manage construction documents.
  • Strong knowledge of safety practices and field construction procedures.
  • Experience with Procore and Microsoft Project is highly desired.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel (up to 10%).

The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing all phases of the project for a variety of project types including civil, site, excavation, utilities, roads, paving, water/wastewater, sewer,  and more.  You will ensure that the projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.  Not only will you communicate directly with diverse clientele in both the public and private sector, you will collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, contractors, and local agencies to achieve project goals and deliver successful outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred but not required - Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. 
  • Proven experience in Civil Construction Project Manager, with a track record of successful project delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools.

Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning and Scheduling:

    • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.
    • Create detailed project schedules and milestones, ensuring alignment with overall project goals.
  2. Team Leadership:

    • Lead and motivate project teams, including internal staff and subcontractors.
    • Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  3. Budget Management:

    • Monitor project budgets and financial performance, identifying and addressing any deviations.
    • Work closely with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  4. Quality Assurance:

    • Implement and enforce quality control measures to meet and exceed project specifications.
    • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  5. Client Communication:

    • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project progress.
    • Address client concerns and maintain positive relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
  6. Risk Management:

    • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions.
    • Proactively address unforeseen challenges and adapt plans as necessary.
  7. Contract Administration:

    • Review and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
    • Ensure all parties adhere to contractual obligations and specifications.
