Job Description
As a Project Manager – Construction & MDU, you will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of telecom construction projects, including multi-dwelling unit deployments, infrastructure builds, and network expansions. You will be responsible for coordinating field operations, managing contractor/vendor relationships, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards. This role demands a strong background in construction project management, MDU buildouts, and telecommunications infrastructure, paired with sharp organizational and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Strategy
Develop comprehensive construction project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
Conduct feasibility studies, permitting reviews, and site assessments for MDU and infrastructure projects.
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to align project requirements with business goals.
Project Execution & Management
Lead and oversee field construction activities for MDU, fiber, and wireless deployments.
Manage contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure performance and adherence to schedules and budgets.
Track project milestones, progress, and variances, proactively addressing challenges.
Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning requirements, safety standards, and telecom industry regulations.
Stakeholder Communication & Reporting
Act as the primary liaison for property owners, developers, municipalities, and utility partners.
Provide regular project updates to internal leadership and external partners.
Prepare status reports, presentations, and documentation for executive and client review.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
Ensure all construction and installation activities meet the highest standards of safety and quality.
Conduct site inspections, punch lists, and post-project evaluations.
Drive continuous improvement in construction project delivery and operational processes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
7–10 years of proven project management experience in telecommunication construction and MDU deployments.
Experience with FTTH, FTTx, GPON, xGS-PON, fiber (SM & MM), PTP/PTMP wireless, 5G, and Wi-Fi infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of construction practices, permitting, zoning, and utility coordination.
Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera, Asana, Jira, etc.).
PMP certification or equivalent preferred.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple large-scale projects concurrently.
