Robert Half is seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist to join our client's team! This position will join an accounting team consisting of a CFO, Controller, Assistant Controller, and other Project Accountants. Ideal candidates with have prior experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing.
Responsibilities:
General:
+ Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations of AP and AR accounts.
+ Monitor cash flow by maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of receivables and payables.
+ Collaborate with the finance team to support audits and generate financial reports as needed.
+ Stay informed on applicable state and federal tax regulations regarding invoices and AP/AR compliance.
AP:
+ Process vendor invoices, including matching purchase orders, reviewing discrepancies, and resolving billing issues promptly.
+ Code, audit, and enter invoices into the accounting system with accuracy.
+ Prepare weekly/monthly payment runs, including checks, ACH, and electronic payments.
+ Maintain vendor files, ensuring appropriate tax forms (W-9s) and compliance documents are up to date.
+ Assist with negotiating payment terms and managing lien releases when necessary for subcontractors and suppliers.
AR:
+ Generate and distribute customer invoices based on project milestones or contractual agreements.
+ Apply payments to customer accounts and monitor aging reports to ensure timely collections.
+ Resolve customer billing issues, discrepancies, or outstanding payments, maintaining positive client relationships.
+ Work closely with project managers to confirm billing accuracy and maintain detailed records of all transactions.
Desired Experience:
+ 2+ years of experience in AP/AR within the construction industry.
+ Proficiency in construction accounting software and Microsoft Excel (advanced skills preferred).
+ Strong knowledge of lien waivers, progress billing, and retainage practices.
+ Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with great attention to detail.

Job Description
Under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager, and in conjunction with the supervisors assists with the monitoring of the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the instrumentation, advanced problem-solving resolution, and monitoring of environmental issues. Performs a wide range of clinical laboratory testing in an accurate and timely fashion by utilizing technical and problem-solving skills in conjunction with a thorough knowledge of Clinical Chemistry principles and instrumentation. Works routinely on special projects, assay research, and new test development. Assists in the coordination of staff in the absence of a Manager or Supervisor. Coordinates the development of new protocols and the evaluation of new instrumentation. Participates and contributes to the laboratory Quality Control and Quality Assurance programs. Monitors CAP compliance and maintains compliance with new and revised regulatory requirements. Serves as a lead with regard to special projects, IT changes and upgrades, new protocols, and the implementation or evaluation of new instrumentation.
Provides technical assistance to all staff on new and revised methodologies. Cooperatively and proactively assists in other areas as needed in a teamwork-oriented environment. Maintains procedure knowledge and implements all new and revised procedures in real time. Maintains all Quality Control and Quality Assurance at all times. Provides proficiency testing oversight following all routine standards and workflow. Maintains operational effectiveness and assumes full responsibility for continuing education requirements, licensure, and expertise to adapt as needed to an expanding department with increased testing complexity.
**Job Responsibilities:**
**1)** Demonstrate knowledge of all aspects of a given assay, including such concepts as analytical theory, quality control evaluation, reference ranges, critical values, clinical significance of the assay, instrumentation used, reagent stability, calibration, etc.
**2)** Demonstrate the ability to write laboratory procedures that conform to CLSI, CLIA, and CAP standards. Ensures that all staff in the section have read and understand all applicable procedures and /or revisions.
**3** ) Performs testing according to laboratory procedures with acceptable accuracy and precision. Performs a high degree of skills with regards to analytical instrumentation, including operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance procedures.
**4)** As requested, in conjunction with the medical Director and Laboratory Manager, develops and/or evaluates new tests and methods including statistical testing, reagent issues, test codes, LIS issues, staff training, etc. Makes recommendation about implementation of these procedures.
**5)** Miscellaneous duties as required on a daily basis:
5.1 Perform testing on instruments depending on staffing
5.2 Available to cover benches throughout shift
**6)** Develops instrumentation maintenance schedule and protocol. Performs
Instrument maintenance according to schedule including documentation. Provides assistance to others when delays occur. Recognizes need for unscheduled maintenance before problem occur.
**7)** Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of instrument operation including
routine and STAT modes (if any), menu options, response to error flags, and identification of instrument components. Recognizes instrument problems when they occur by responding to instrument alarms, error flags, and quality control problems. Initiates troubleshooting procedures in a systematic manner.
**8** ) Independently evaluates results for acceptability based on proper instrument
Operation, plausibility of results, previous patient data; alerts supervisor of discrepancies. Initiates response to unusual results. Documents problems.
**9)** Follows established quality control procedures, evaluates acceptability of results;
Documents response to outliers and demonstrates advanced knowledge of quality control rules. Assists others in solving complex quality control problems.
**10)** Helps oversee the CAP Proficiency Testing program for the laboratory section,
to ensure that PT samples are tested in a timely fashion and in a manner that is compliant with regulatory requirements; completes CAP action reports for all results that exceed two standard deviations from the peer group mean; investigates outliers and shifts/trends for possible corrective actions.
**11)** Ensures that the laboratory section is in compliance with all items on the current CAP inspection checklist.
**12)** Demonstrates knowledge of general laboratory policies and procedures for quality control monitoring of equipment including temperature checks, pipette calibration, general equipment maintenance and documentation.
**13)** Has excellent communication skills. Effectively communicates with the staff in a
clear and concise manner. Encourages and elicits feedback from staff on work process improvement. Communicates well with other members of the Hospital staff, including physicians, nurses, managers, and supervisors of other departments. Effectively communicates pertinent issues to the Laboratory Manager.
**14)** Participates in continuing education and professional enrichment.
**15)** Demonstrates sensitivity to needs of co-workers and patients by monitoring adherence to policies governing confidentiality.

**2)** Reviews all denied claims for third party payer on "Explanation of Benefits" and remittance advises and takes appropriate action based on findings.
**3)** Appeals claims from third party carriers with additional documentation as needed for appropriate reimbursement.
**4)** Initiates insurance reimbursement inquiries to appropriate compliance analyst for additional appeal opportunities, denial prevention, updates to our internal claim editing system, etc.

**Job Responsibilities:**
**1)** Captures billing charges for all assigned locations
Assembles analyzes and batches charges accurately in a timely manner. Follows ICD-10 and CPT guidelines and codes diagnoses and procedures as required. Sends thorough charges and adjuncts (referrals, reports, etc.) to the PBO within the allowable timeframe.
**2)** Acts as a liaison between physicians in the Department of Baystate Reproductive medicine, their staff, 3300 Main St, Biology Lab, and the Physicians' Billing Office.
Informs the PBO of billing issues within the Department and follows up in a courteous and professional manner. Guides and assists clerical staff with billing and insurance concerns as necessary or directed. Reports accurate end of the month statistics to physicians and administrative staff. Attends meetings and seminars as required or directed.
**3)** Maintains accurate up-to-date purveyor files.
Information is posted and verified into records and logs with accuracy. Files copies of charges, HMO membership listings, and other miscellaneous documents in correct order and sequence to allow for easy access.
**4)** Accurately deletes old codes and replaces with new ones in accordance with CPT and ICD-10 guidelines Complete forms and sends changes/corrections to proper personnel and departments (Information Systems, Budget Dept., Medical Records, Patient Accounting, and the PBO. Manages correct input of fees into Patient Keeper. Manages IVF spreadsheet on the S drive.
**5)** Sends miscellaneous mailings.
Sends out billings for outside agencies (grants, contracts, lawyers, etc. if applicable).
Sends out letters and memorandums as necessary or directed.
**6)** Follows up on daily telephone calls and correspondence related to billing, insurance and prior auths.
Seeks out resolutions for all incoming billing inquiries from patients, provides support and financial guidance and follows up appropriately. Deposits checks received accurately in accordance with the chart of accounts.
**7)** In absence of Department Secretary, receives and screens visitors and telephone calls for the department.
Greets and receives visitors in a courteous and professional manner. Screens visitors and promptly notifies appropriate personnel when required. Provides information and answers inquiries in accordance with established department procedures. Screens incoming calls and routes to appropriate personnel or takes an accurate messages in accordance with established department procedures.
**8)** General Service Excellence Principles.
Identifies the key elements of service excellence. Able to successfully deal with challenging day to day interactions with patients, families, visitors, and customers in a consistent manner i.e., physicians, staff, etc. Consistently uses service excellence behaviors as evidenced by no reasonable patient complaints received from patients, families, and/or providers. Identifies and respects the needs of the internal and external customers. Maintains the patient's/customers' sense of self-worth and dignity in difficult situations. Maintains a calm, controlled approach at all times. Consistently projects an image of Baystate's services and systems in a positive manner.
**9)** Patient/Customer First.
Communicates to patients/customers that they are a high priority even during busy times. Treats patient's information confidentially. Shows patients/customers that she/he believes that they are important. Shows sensitivity to the patients'/customers' non-verbal communication. **10)** Judgment and Empathy

As a Senior Electrical Specialist, you will:
- Create moderate to highly complex designs of electric master system plans, power systems, protection and generation models, facility power systems, sustainability/renewable energy systems, and other similar electrical systems.
- Execute a variety of electrical design assignments using prescribed methods and standard techniques including drawing sequence and presentation, sizing various system components, and refining rough sketches.
- Incorporate changes to designs or sketches and redlines or mark-ups on ongoing projects. Contribute to studies of power systems and electrical calculations for electrical systems, lighting simulations, lighting layouts, communications, fire alarm, security and other similar calculations.
