Brunel is recruiting Data Analysts to work in Spring, TX for initially 1 year contract.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for importing, cleansing, validating and analyzing data with the purpose of understanding or drawing conclusions from the data.
  • Query data using SQL.
  • Present data in charts, graphs, or tables using visualization tools.
  • Minimal work direction needed, highly skilled and knowledgeable to the position.
  • This position would typically include a professional Data Analyst.
  • Expert in the field, possibly professional certification holder.
Essential skills and knowledge

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Report generation and data analysis. Proficient in SQL and either Spotfire or Power BI.
  • Experience with Databricks, python and data engineering preferred.
  • Experience with Upstream Drilling & Completions datasets a plus

Overview: We are looking for a Data Analyst to play a critical role in a large-scale data migration project from Oracle to Snowflake. The ideal candidate will conduct due diligence, lead discovery efforts, and support the project team in analyzing and preparing data for migration across 93 applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive due diligence to evaluate existing Oracle database schemas, data quality, and business rules.
  • Lead discovery sessions with stakeholders to gather detailed requirements and document data sources and flows.
  • Analyze and map data from Oracle to Snowflake, identifying transformation needs and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with the project team to develop data migration strategies and timelines.
  • Create and maintain documentation, including data dictionaries, mapping documents, and process flows.
  • Identify data quality issues and work with teams to develop solutions for cleansing and validating data.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to inform project decisions.
  • Support the team in testing and validating migrated data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Communicate findings and project updates to stakeholders and management effectively.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst, especially in data migration or transformation projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle databases and familiarity with Snowflake or other cloud data warehousing solutions.

What does a successful Senior Data Analyst do at Fiserv?

Under the guidance of a director or Portfolio Manager, you will support transaction risk management for a portfolio of merchant accounts.

What you will do:

  • Develop, test, and implement machine learning models and rules to mitigate fraud and credit risk.

  • Analyze ambiguous data to understand trends, reach conclusions, and develop strategies to improve portfolio performance.

  • Provide internal and external reporting and analytics on an ongoing and ad hoc basis.

  • Monitor key metrics and ensures accounts are meeting all contractual SLAs.

  • Communicate directly with external customers.
