As a data collection analyst at Booz Allen, you will collect and organize the data on leading edge unmanned capabilities. Position Summary
This position reports to the Assistant Manager of Records Management and works closely with the Associate Director of Records and colleagues in the unit. The position is primarily responsible for data entry and maintenance of all University of Georgia donor and alumni information. This includes the processing of biographical updates of donor and alumni data received from fundraisers, alumni, and other campus databases. Data entry varies in complexity in relation to projects that range from daily to annual time frames. This position is critical to advancing the University's fundraising mission by proactively seeking biographical updates as well as processing information provided to the department regarding all constituents.

  • Process emails assigned via the departmental email account; Through critical thinking, interpret requests from campus users and other constituents based on well-developed critical thinking skills; Respond in timely manner to all requests either verbally or in written format upholding departmental and University standards for confidentiality.
  • Phone requests or updates from campus or external constituents should be handled in a prompt and discretionary manner. Strong customer service skills are required in handling concerns or complaints directed towards the department.
  • Each business day, from UGA's call center ftp site, obtain the files containing biographical updates, employment information and deceased. Use files to manually process all updates accordingly.
  • Search and process real-time including but not limited to deaths, marriages, name changes and employment changes of constituents using sources such as newspapers, vendors, magazines, and online sources.

The Data Collection Leader prepares/manages daily schedule of data collection resources. Provides training to lower- graded personnel on the data collection procedures and policies at ATC and other locations outside ATC. As well as provide guidance and oversight in the development of the structured data collection curriculum to train new data collection personnel.

  • Provides leadership, technical advice and assistance to lower-graded employees.

  • Instructs employees in specific tasks and job techniques and makes available written instructions, reference materials, and supplies.

  • Checks on work in progress generated by lower-graded employees.

  • Recognizes problems in data collection techniques and recommends solutions.

  • Determines and assures that the test data meet project's requirements and meets Government standards for quality assurance, completeness, accuracy and timeliness.

  • On a weekly basis, performs a 100% quality assurance check of data from an assigned project; all projects will be reviewed on a rotational basis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a scientific, engineering, or technology discipline and 3 years' experience in performing RAM/ILS or similar type of data collection of military/nonmilitary equipment and associated maintenance concepts; or an Associate's Degree in a technical area and five 5 years' experience in performing data collection of military/non- military equipment and associated maintenance concepts; or 7 years' experience in performing RAM/ILS or similar type of data collection of military/nonmilitary equipment and associated maintenance concepts.

  • Shall have 3 years of leadership experience in a same or similar discipline.

  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.

The Opportunity:

As a Data Collection Analyst ( DCA ) , collecting and organizing data can yield pivotal insights when gathered from disparate sources. We need a DCA like you to help our Navy client find answers to make a positive impact on important unmanned maritime missions.

As a data collection analyst at Booz Allen, you will collect and organize the data on leading edge unmanned capabilities. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team of Navy operators and officers, engineers, autonomy and Navy test subject matter experts, analysts, developers, and data consumers in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You will learn DCA skills by merging systems engineering, test and evaluation, and cybersecurity data to create organized, comprehensive data repositories that will inform senior programmatic decisions leading to future acquisitions.

How You'll Contribute:

  • Use your technical knowledge and analytical mindset to support client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Generate cross-functional solutions through collection, interpretation, evaluation, and analysis of large data sets.
  • Apply communication skills and data analytics experience by providing timely, easy to understand, and well-organized reports for various clients.
  • Help establish quantitative and qualitative metrics and key performance indicators to drive technical outcomes.
  • Apply data visualization through different formats such as graphs, tables, and PowerPoint slides.

You Have:
  • Knowledge of shipboard and maritime safety regulations
  • Ability to get underway and go to sea for up to two weeks at a time
  • Ability to participate in safety briefs such as pre-underway safety briefs
  • Ability to participate in at-sea and shoreside data collection events
  • Ability to pay strict attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively communicate both up and down the chain of command
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
