Job Description
Supervises and coordinates the staff and daily activities of the clinical facility of the dentistry department. Performs the duties and responsibilities of a dental hygienist as necessary. Coordinates and performs all special patient procedures under the direction of a Dentist.
Job Responsibility
+ Promotes Dental Services department goals by selecting, motivating, and training capable team members.
+ Leads the activities of assigned Dental Services team members by communicating and providing guidance toward achieving department objectives.
+ Supervises and coordinates the daily activities of the clinical facility of the dentistry department.
+ Maintains clinical facility and equipment as outlined in the policy and procedures manual.
+ Maintains inventory control system for the department including ordering, stocking, and dispensing of supplies as necessary.
+ Performs the duties and responsibilities of a dental hygienist as necessary, including chair-side dental assisting and other procedures and treatments as assigned.
+ Performs related duties as required. All responsibilities noted here are considered essential functions of the job under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Duties not mentioned here, but considered related are not essential functions.
Job Qualification
+ Associate's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
+ Current License to practice as a Dental Hygienist in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
+ 4-6 years of relevant experience and 0-2 years of leadership / management experience, required.
+ Billing experience, preferred.

Physical and Sensory Requirements:

Frequent squatting, kneeling, occasional stooping/bending, crouching, and reaching above shoulder level. Must be able to hear as it relates to normal conversation. Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. CPR/BLS certification required. If not CPR/BLS certified, must be certified within 90 days of hire.
X-ray certification preferred.

Training and Experience:

- Provide outstanding customer service by identifying opportunities for Same Day Care.
- Educate patients and parents about oral hygiene practices.
- Assess patients' dental conditions and review medical histories.
- Adhere to all regulations and company standards.
- Guide patients and parents through the treatment process.
- Assist with dental and perio charting as necessary.
- Take and save x-rays in patient charts, as needed.
- Ensure memorable patient experiences through compassionate interactions.
Qualifications:
- Current licensure as a Dental Hygienist in good standing.
- CPR (BLS) certification from the ARC or AHA, including hands-on skill assessment required upon hire.
