Each day you'll fix the trucks and equipment that service over 20 million customers across the USA. You'll be using modern tools and procedures to deliver exceptional maintenance on both diesel equipment and, at some locations, on our growing fleet of CNG trucks.

+ Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
+ Estimates time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts.
+ Perform your work within our Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
+ Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
+ Safety checks on vehicles - the safety of every single employee and the people in our communities is our number one priority
+ Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
+ Assisting senior Mechanics in the completion of project work.
+ Reviews, completes, or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
+ Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
**What do you need to be considered for the role of Diesel Mechanic?**
+ 2 years of relevant work experience
+ A valid drivers license, with a clean driving record
+ Be over 18 years of age.
+ Legally eligible to work in the United States

+ $31.98 - $5.45 (Union Collective Bargaining Agreement PayScale)
+ up to 50/hour for highly qualified technicians.
+ Relocation negotiable.
+ Shift differentials 2/hr. for second shift, 2/hr. for weekend hours
+ ASE incentive program with .25/hr. for each primary automotive certification and .15/hr. for each secondary transit certification
+ Additional 1000 annual bonus for maintaining ASE triple master status
+ Additional 1000 annual bonus for maintaining ASE quad master status

Key Responsibilities:
+ Conduct diagnostic tests to identify issues and determine necessary repairs on diesel engines.
+ Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance.
+ Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and accurate repairs
+ Complete preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections?
+ Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for diesel engines.
+ Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on diesel engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
+ Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, assisting them in developing their skills and knowledge.
+ Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
+ 3 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
+ ASE certifications required; ASE certification program provided.
+ Mechanic's Tool Set
+ Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason?
Physical Requirements:

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
- Performs preventative maintenance, conducts inspections, troubleshoots, diagnoses failures & deficiencies & performs necessary corrections. This includes conducting offsite road repairs/service calls.
- Completes daily checklist as required for proper operation of the unit being operated.
- Assures unit has daily maintenance duties performed and communicates any problems or issues with the unit immediately upon discovery
- Completes and submits all associated paperwork as required for tracking PM schedules.
- Conducts Safety Checks & Annual Vehicle Inspections in accordance with provincial & federal laws.
- Assures that Equipment is properly parked in compliance with facility permit and DOT requirements.
- Ensures that work meets all applicable Health and Safety Standard Operating Procedures.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment.
- Performs other assignments as assigned by management.
