This job supports the materials management departments through customer service, issue resolution and problem solving. Ensures supplies are efficiently received, inventoried and delivered. Generates monthly reports, communicates with internal and external customers, and resolves errors.

**Education**
Required - High school diploma or equivalent.

**Job Duties**
+ Ensures all internal and external customers service levels are maintained by monitoring customer service email account and phone line.
+ Generates and analyzes monthly productivity and supply chain reports to improve department efficiency and effectiveness.
+ Ensures inventory and purchase orders are accurately received, issued, and returned.
+ Trains new employees on receiving and central supply duties and responsibilities.
+ Resolves errors with receipts, customer orders, and/or par levels.
+ Works to improve supply chain processes, metrics, and customer satisfaction.
+ Identifies and addresses internal and external customer needs.
+ Performs other related duties as required.

_This position has remote-working capabilities,_ **_but candidates must be located in the greater New Orleans area_** _so we can provide support to our local utility customer as needed. **As a Distribution Engineer, you can expect to:**
+ Perform design engineering for Leidos electric utility customers; you may also be performing individual design tasks in addition to QC efforts within your group
+ Contribute to your team's work packages for OH, UG, URD, Make Ready, and Street Light projects, using customer GIS and Work Management systems
+ Work with other engineers and design leads on broad client issues including schedule adherence and team quality control; manage scope, schedule, and budget of work assigned.
+ Review engineering design packages with clients; Perform functional tasks, planning, and/or customer follow-up
+ Perform scope analysis of work assigned and maintain schedule adherence to advocate client priorities
+ Initiate continuous improvement to workflow processes that drive efficiency and high-quality standards in client design deliverables
+ Coordinate conflicting utilities and other field engineering design requirements, assessing and developing large design packages for complex cable/conduit projects in dense urban environments, work permit development, easements, and ROW applications
+ Be comfortable in both a field and office setting: the role may require some customer-site visits to collect field data that will assist in developing work packages
+ Be available for customer-facing activities and/or meetings on an as-needed basis (Job related travel will be reimbursed at IRS-approved rates)
**What Leidos Needs From You:**
+ A minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience **either working directly with an electric utility or an electric utility consulting company performing design engineering for electric distribution.**
+ BS in Engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial preferred) from an ABET accredited program/institution; _Additional, relevant experience may be considered in lieu of engineering bachelor's degree_
+ Background in and demonstrated proficiency with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC)
+ Some Prior knowledge of structural analysis, guying calcs, cable pulling calcs, coordination of protective devices, and electric demand and fault currents calculations.
+ Ability to provide your own reliable transportation, as some customer-related travel may be anticipated (Job-related travel will be reimbursed at IRS-approved rates)
+ Ability to demonstrate strong written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills
**You Might Also Have Some previous experience with:**
+ Providing estimated costs, development of a BOM, calculating the CIAC.
+ MicroStation -performing Electrical Distribution design.
+ Work management software and job estimating software.
+ CAD tools
