Job Description

At Houston Methodist, the Research Methodologist position is responsible for providing scientific and technical consultation and coaching in research methodology for the design, planning and execution of research projects focusing on epidemiologic, quality and patient safety, clinical, translational, and outcomes research. This position works in close partnership with faculty and researchers to provide technical guidance on the design and development of research methodology frameworks and analyses. The Research Methodologist is also responsible for providing advisement and coaching on research methodological/analytical sections of grant applications, study protocols, publications, reports and other deliverables. This position serves as subject matter expert to inform quantitative and qualitative research methodology for project conceptualization, design to implementation and evaluation phases. This position also provides training to faculty and researchers on the use of broad range of quantitative and qualitative research methods and techniques which include developing and testing analytical models, strategies for recruitment and retention of research participants, research instrument design and testing, and assessing data quality.
**PEOPLE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
+ Collaborates with faculty and researchers to lead research methodology meetings and discussions. Collaborates with management and leadership on research methodology development project priorities.
+ Serves as a subject matter expert and coach to faculty and researchers to develop their skills and projects focusing on applied best practices for quantitative and qualitative research methods and techniques.
+ Liases and supports multi-functional teams including researchers, scientists, and other stakeholders, to facilitate teamwork and meet project objectives in a timely manner.
+ Conducts self in a manner that is aligned with I CARE cultural principles and Houston Methodist service standards.
**SERVICE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
+ Partners with faculty, researchers and other stakeholders to provide technical guidance on development of research methodology frameworks and analyses for research projects. Provides coaching on research methodology for design, planning and execution of research projects.
+ Reviews and provides feedback on research methodological/analytical sections of grant applications, study protocols, publications, reports and other deliverables.
+ Develops and implements a training program to coach faculty and researchers on quantitative and qualitative research methods and techniques.
+ Promotes communication and collaboration between faculty, researchers, biostatisticians, data managers and other stakeholders on best practices for implementation of research methods and techniques. Leads and supports complex research methodology development projects. Provides highest level of excellence in all projects executed.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with *Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG)*-related activities and demonstrated expertise in managing *large and complex data sets*. A strong background in *research administration*, particularly in both *pre- and post-award processes*, is highly desirable. Familiarity with *pre-award management systems* and advanced *Excel skills* (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data visualization) is preferred. *Key Functions *
*CCSG Daily Operations *
* Ensures alignment with evolving guidelines and expectations for the NCI CCSG including, but not limited to, the current funding announcement, data guidelines, and definition of peer-reviewed funding sources
* Responsible for membership management including annual review of membership, coordination of application process, tracking membership history, and membership guidelines management/implementation
· Responsible for data collection and management, including information related to membership, publications, grants, clinical research studies, shared resource usage, and related metrics
* Responsible for data analysis: Analyzes and compiles key metrics (publications, grants, membership, shared resource usage and other research productivity information) required for program leaders in the assessment of scientific impact and monitoring of critical program metrics
* Responsible for upkeep of current DT1a-c
* Works closely with the Associate Director, Analytics and Decision Support and the CCSG Data Scientists to maintain and report current membership and grant funding data (DT2)
* Produces reports and updates of CCSG data upon request

* Leads the development and implementation of enhanced administrative processes and tools for efficient collection, management, analysis and reporting of CCSG data in partnership with various departments and groups across the institution

* Serves as the primary point of contact between CCSG Administration and CCSG leaders, and communicates with CCSG leaders regarding needs and deliverables

+ A PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, Data Science, Statistics or other engineering or science-related discipline is required.

Our client, a global leader in specialty chemicals and materials, is seeking an innovative and experienced Process Engineer to join their advanced manufacturing facility in Houston, Texas, US . This role is crucial for optimizing production processes, ensuring product quality, and driving efficiency improvements across their operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing processes and optimize existing ones to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
  • Conduct process simulations, data analysis, and statistical process control (SPC) to identify areas for improvement and troubleshoot operational issues.

Use your knowledge of chemical process engineering fundamentals to help Honeywell Universal Oil Products (UOP) deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. You will work alongside some of the world's most talented engineers. You will contribute to the development of Honeywell's next generation of UOP products by designing, testing and/or validating products from prototype to market. You will be part of a group of highly committed professionals who provide expertise and ensure the success of engineering projects and programs.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Support Pre-FEED and FEED development for projects including process scope and design solutions for growth projects for the UOP businesses ate manufacturing sites producing catalysts and adsorbents.
+ Identify and mitigate technical and process safety risks during design.
+ Develop process models, heat and material balances, process flow diagrams, piping & instrumentation diagrams, basic control schemes, equipment specifications and plant layout, including development of process simulations and hydraulic models
+ Provide on-site technical support during project construction, commissioning, startup and product trials.
+ Identify and evaluate process alternatives during design and justify process improvements with economic evaluations.
+ Work with manufacturing sites to develop and implement productivity projects, demonstrated knowledge of engineering techniques to optimize manufacturing processes.
