Lighting Internship:

+ Works closely with CG Supervisor and Lead Lighter to achieve the visual target for assigned shots or lighting tasks and address all lighting notes.
+ Responsible for taking shots to completion.

+ Troubleshoots creative and technical issues as they arise.
+ As needed, organizes and documents any lighting tools, scripts, or processes.
+ Collaborates with other departments for timely integration of elements into assigned shots.

+ Responsible for informing CG Supervisor of any shot issues.

The Hair Global Development Group is responsible for Hair Template, Workflow and Tool Ownership across departments and shows. This group establishes consistency, efficiency, ownership, and support in the grooming and simulation process.
+ The goal of the Hair Global Developer internship will be to introduce candidates to the studio setting and involve them in development of tools for hair, fur and feathers across production on DreamWorks feature films.
+ The intern will work closely with the Hair Global Development Group to help become familiarized with hair, fur and feather workflows.
+ The intern will focus on the complete cycle of developing one or more tools. With guidance from a mentor, the intern will write the tool(s), run tests in production shots, troubleshoot resulting issues, demo usage to artists, and write documentation.
+ The intern may participate in production shot work to familiarize themselves with Dreamworks' hair, fur, feather tools and workflows.

A Production Intern will be assigned to either a feature film or animated television show and gain insight into production responsibilities, workflows and processes. Additionally, they will be able to observe and learn about the animation pipeline and creative process.
Production Interns handle various production activities under the direction of their Production Manager. Interns will help to take on new challenges in efforts to gain a more detailed knowledge of the animation industry, animated television or feature pipeline and workflows.
Interns must have strong written and verbal communication skills, are self-motivated, are outstanding teammates who take initiative, have the ability to prioritize multiple requests, have a strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

For feature animated films, Visual Development artists imagine and propose ideas for what the animated world should look like based on the story, characters, and action. They use reference, illustration, drawing, design skills and animation and 3D tools like Maya to build visuals that convey ideas about how they envision the look of the world.
+ The goal of the internship is to experience visual development in a production environment over the span of 10 weeks.
+ The intern will be partnered with a production over the span of 10 weeks working closely with Production Designers and mentors.
+ This intern will work through concept designs to final designs by pulling reference, crafting mood boards and designing sets, props, color keys, and more.

Spring 2026 CFX Production Development Internship:

The Character Effects department at DreamWorks Animation is responsible for both the set up and shot simulation of cloth, fur, hair, foliage, feathers, props, and other simulations as necessary on various projects. The Character Effects Production Development team oversees and maintains the common CFX workflows and tools used by all productions, with members specializing in artistry, engineering, and pipeline.
+ The goal of the CFX Production Development internship will be to introduce candidates to the studio setting and involve them in development of tools for CFX shot production on DreamWorks feature films.
+ The intern will work closely with the CFX Production Development team to help become familiarized with CFX workflows and techniques.
+ The intern will focus on the complete cycle of developing one or more tools. With guidance from a mentor, the intern will write the tool(s), run tests in production shots, troubleshoot resulting issues, demo usage to CFX Artists, and write documentation.
+ The intern may participate in production shot work to familiarize themselves with DreamWorks' Character Effects tools and workflow.
