**Job Description**
AECOM is seeking a **Steam Power Generation Specialist** to advance our multi-disciplinary design team addressing the most challenging engineering tasks in power generation. AECOM's broad technical capabilities, global footprint and experience in executing large scale projects uniquely position us to lead in traditional steam, thermal power generation and advanced nuclear technologies. As a subject matter specialist, we are looking for an exceptional candidate with a power engineering background to promote our skills to new clients and maintain our existing client base. Qualified candidates will have a strong background and specialization in steam and thermal power engineering coupled with project leadership experience.
The successful candidate will have a high level of understanding and experience in mechanical engineering design and technology principles for process/mechanical and generation projects.
The responsibilities of this role also include, but may not be limited to, the following:
+ Responsible for the mechanical engineering design work on assigned projects; Function as the "Engineer of Record" on projects
+ Serve as lead engineer on all size projects maintaining responsible charge of mechanical deliverables
+ Collaborate with Department manager and technical leaders to collaborate on strategic approaches to steam and thermal power generation
+ Provide mentorship to other engineers within Department and other remote teams
+ Support company business development activities (e.g. pre-positioning and proposal response development) Coordination with the mechanical piping design team to direct completion of engineering drawings.
+ Multi-discipline collaboration on the development of equipment general arrangements, P&ID's, isometrics, asset and tie-in lists, orthographic, etc.
+ Provides technical expertise for risk assessments, due diligence and other studies presenting complex technical solutions to clients.
+ Generate applicable mechanical engineering deliverables to support all phases of scope development - Feasibility through Detail Design
+ Develop construction and equipment specifications and material requisitions
+ Home office support of projects during construction, start-up, and commissioning
+ Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others

**Qualifications**
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
+ BA/BS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering + 8 years of relevant experience
PREFRRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Masters Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
+ Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
+ 9+ years of Energy related experience
+ 5+ yrs experience as project technical mechanical lead/mechanical engineer of record
+ Experience in engineer and design of Combined Cycle Plants and Nuclear Generation Stations
+ Expert familiarity with industry codes and standards (API, ASME, PIP, ANSI, ASTMs, etc).
+ Expert experience with specifying mechanical equipment (e.g. rotating and static equipment) and piping material specifications
+ Familiarity with diverse metallurgy
+ Startup and Commissioning Field Experience
+ Strong experience with engineering software packages: Thermoflow package, Hysys, Caesar II, Pipe-Flo (or other hydraulic modeling application), AspenTech applications and/or Applied Flow Technology applications
+ Experience working in collaborative model environments (e.g. Navisworks, BIM 360)
+ Demonstrated experience in participating in complex, multi-discipline programs/projects
+ Successful experience working in remote and multi-discipline teams

This is a work from home role ideally within Western U.S. (Will consider any other locations within the U.S. as well) This role will include expected travel up to 50% to service accounts across the U.S.
This position is designed to help Power Generation Risk Engineering support the workload associated with Power Generation Underwriting. Work with current team members to assist with the increase in field assignments.
You will be responsible for completing field and desktop assessments of power generation plants and associated equipment. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated development of risk improvement actions (recommendations) to assist clients mitigate risks.
To be successful in this role you will be responsible for:
+ Advanced risk assessment of plant machinery and fire protection equipment risks as well as the associated business interruption within the power generation industry
+ Providing consultative services to customers, including identifying exposures with significant loss potential, investigation of cause/effect of major losses and management programs
+ Providing power generation training for Risk Engineering staff, Underwriting staff customers, service design and coordination, mentoring, marketing, and loss investigations
+ Manage account risk portfolio and provide account level engineering to meet underwriting requirements.
+ Marketing Zurich products in conjunction with underwriting professionals and agents across company business segments.
+ Developing and implementing customer service strategies that reduce loss and improve customer operations.

Power Generation Systems Knowledge - Demonstrates knowledge of Cummins and industry standards by complying with all safe work procedures including Personal Protective Equipment to create a safe work environment; interprets and analyzes Power Generation system operation and integration (switch gear, power system controls, uninterruptable power supply, etc.) by applying tools, service publications (Cummins, Original Equipment Manufacturer) and taking measurements to efficiently and correctly diagnose and repair.
Product Repair and Maintenance - Repairs and maintains mechanical/electrical products following guidelines, using required tools within standard repair time to ensure a quality repair; disassembles and assembles engines or power generators following guidelines, using required tools to ensure a clean and organized environment; inspects and replaces parts and components following re-use guidelines to minimize customers cost of ownership; performs progressive damage check following guidelines to restore to pre-failure condition.
Service Documentation - Creates and verifies customer, equipment and technical information; captures specific data using required service tools; follows procedures and documents required information in the service management system in order to have an accurate record of the work done.
Technical Escalation - Obtains product technical issue information and utilizes available resources including data management tools; elevates issues to a higher level of expertise, balancing timeliness of customer response with investigation efforts; captures all troubleshooting steps in the appropriate database in order to ensure seamless transitions and accurate response to ticket resolution in a timely manner.

**Education, Licenses, Certifications:**
Apprentice Certified Power Generation/ Electrical Technician (Preferred)
Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
Current relevant electrical certification
Locally valid driving permit

As part of the Plant Optimization team, the ideal person will be a subject matter expert in reliability centered maintenance and condition-based monitoring activities mentoring team members and providing customer support with model development, maintenance and analysis of power plant equipment. The successful candidate will support team members with guidance to identify, understand, engage, develop, and support a wide variety of technologies and customers. As a subject matter expert, the Condition Monitoring Manager will be an active part of the innovation process for the enhancement and maintenance of condition-based modeling and monitoring software for real-time analysis of mechanical systems and equipment.
**Location** : Remote - USA.
Local to Idaho Falls, ID preferred. Regular travel to support business operations onsite at Idaho Falls, ID will be required.
**Salary** : $89,100 - $140,000

**Your Expertise:**
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering or related degree.
+ 5 + years' experience leading a reliability centered maintenance in the power generation industry.
+ Knowledge of condition monitoring, vibration analysis, and diagnostic technologies.
+ Monitoring and Diagnostic Center working experience with power plants, OEM, EPRI, etc.
+ Strong working knowledge of rotating equipment such as pumps, motors, turbines, generators, and field instrumentation.
+ Experience with managing the process of building, training and deploying anomaly detection models of critical assets using leading edge software solutions.
+ Knowledge of CCGT, gas turbine, fossil and nuclear power plant systems.
+ Some travel required.

+ Experience using real-time software.
+ Good problem-solving capabilities.
