If you are aiming to grow your career within Surveying & Subsurface Utility Engineering, then our Utility Service Technician I opportunity will provide you with a fulfilling position. In this role, as part of a small team or crew, you will help manage utility services projects while in the field. This role will give you an opportunity to learn underground utility location as it pertains to the design of new roads, buildings, and utility master plans. Learn the mitigation of risk associated with the damage to underground utilities during construction from faulty design due to incomplete existing condition information. This opportunity provides the chance to work on GIS grade maps for cities, counties, and private institutions. All tools and equipment are provided along with a company vehicle.

Primarily travel around the southeast with opportunities to travel to other NV5 offices in California, Oregon, Texas, Colorado, and Florida. The NV5 Utility Services Department likes to promote from within and will train the proper applicant.

This is based out of our Charlotte, NC office.

Responsibilities

Other Responsibilities include:

    Assist technician II and technician III on locating projects.
  • Assist with maintenance and repair of vacuum excavation truck.
  • Collect utility data on excavation projects.
  • Provide support for utility services/survey staff as needed.


Qualifications

Responsibilities

Seeking a full-time Utility Services Technician II (utility locator). This individual will use industry specific equipment to locate a variety of underground utilities safely and efficiently on utility services projects. Also, the technician will be visiting project sites to verify existing utilities. The most frequent and essential work activities include:

    Location of underground utilities such as water, gas, power, fiber optic, and telephone.
  • Identification of utility sizes, materials, and types.
  • Work as part of a two to four man crew.
  • Collection of existing conditions information for the assessment and identification of underground utilities.
  • Assist with operation and maintenance of vacuum excavation truck.
  • Be knowledgeable of the quality levels of SUE and how to differentiate between each one.
  • Ability to help implement new technologies and methods.
  • Provide support for land survey in the creation of topographic maps.
Qualifications
  • Associates degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office software; Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Ability to type.
  • Familiar of IOS operating system, a plus.

**The Role:** The Controller will maintain central ownership of accounting for the Utility Services business. + Prepare monthly/quarterly reviews of financial information for Utility Services - Americas to ensure that financial information is accurate and prepared in accordance with GAAP.
+ Work with the Utility Services Finance, SAP, and OneStream Systems Teams to ensure accurate reporting of results within Xylem's ledger and consolidation systems.
+ Work with Xylem's Corporate Technical Accounting Group to develop and implement policies and procedures required to address new accounting guidance.

**Condition Monitoring Manager (Nuclear Power Generation)**
As part of the Plant Optimization team, the ideal person will be a subject matter expert in reliability centered maintenance and condition-based monitoring activities mentoring team members and providing customer support with model development, maintenance and analysis of power plant equipment. The successful candidate will support team members with guidance to identify, understand, engage, develop, and support a wide variety of technologies and customers. As a subject matter expert, the Condition Monitoring Manager will be an active part of the innovation process for the enhancement and maintenance of condition-based modeling and monitoring software for real-time analysis of mechanical systems and equipment.
**Location** : Remote - USA.
Local to Idaho Falls, ID preferred. Regular travel to support business operations onsite at Idaho Falls, ID will be required.
**Salary** : $85,000 - $135,000

**Your Challenge:**
+ Develop and deploy reliability centered maintenance solutions in power plants.
+ Mentor team members in our monitoring and diagnostic services by contributing subject matter expertise to more complex scenarios.

**Your Expertise:**
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering or related degree.
+ 5 + years' experience leading a reliability centered maintenance in the power generation industry.
+ Knowledge of condition monitoring, vibration analysis, and diagnostic technologies.
+ Monitoring and Diagnostic Center working experience with power plants, OEM, EPRI, etc.
+ Strong working knowledge of rotating equipment such as pumps, motors, turbines, generators, and field instrumentation.
+ Experience with managing the process of building, training and deploying anomaly detection models of critical assets using leading edge software solutions.
+ Knowledge of CCGT, gas turbine, fossil and nuclear power plant systems.
+ Some travel required.
Preferred Expertise:
+ Experience using real-time software.
+ Good problem-solving capabilities.
+ Experience with renewables.
+ Capable of coordinating multiple projects.
+ Experience working in remote server environments (VPN, VMWare, Citrix).
+ Excellent technical and proposal writing skills.
+ Visual and manual dexterity to perform daily computer functions.
+ Ability to sit and concentrate for extended periods of time.
