**Position Overview:**

The power generation market continues to grow and evolve given strong capacity demand signals that haven't existed for over a decade. As a result, our national Power Generation team is poised for monumental growth. We are seeking a qualified Senior Electrical Engineer to help our clients develop, contract, and implement natural gas and potentially renewable energy generation projects while serving as Owner's Engineer and/or Advisor.

The Senior Electrical Power Engineer candidate should have experience within the utility scale power and renewable energy industry and be capable of leading teams for power generation design projects including supporting in a traditional Owner's Engineering role. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in power generation and distribution, protection and motor control design, power system studies, construction and equipment specification development, and balance of plant designs such as raceway, lighting, and grounding systems. In addition, the candidate will be expected to mentor young engineers, support in managing client relationships, and lead marketing activities including proposal technical writing, fee builds, and work breakdown structure development in response to requests for proposals. A significant level of design and engineer of record work experience with power plant systems is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program with an Electrical Power emphasis.
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Control Systems Engineering with an Electrical Power emphasis.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in electrical power generation design.
- Design experience with simple cycle and combined cycle power generation.
- Previous experience with an engineering power consulting or EPC firm desired.
- Candidate must have excellent communication, written and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to work independently, as a lead on a multi-discipline consulting team, or as a lead on a small team are required.
- Extensive knowledge of three-phase electrical power, protection and control design and settings development, system grounding, physical design, and experience with other activities such as lighting and grounding design, including instrumentation and control and life safety systems.
- Work with Project Manager and Project Controller on project reviews with management as needed.
- Direct the activities of other engineering professionals and act as a mentor to other staff members as needed.
- Position will include an expectation of less than 10% travel for meetings with clients and vendors as well as project site visits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- A minimum of 10 years of experience
- Professional Engineers (PE or P.Eng) license
- Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as standard Power Market Sector design software (examples include PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, and Revit)

The Dahill Group is pleased to be assisting our client, an innovative energy company which is seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Electrical Engineer to support the company in coordinating and managing power projects with a strong focus on data centers. Our client is a team of energy experts that are focused on building reliable and affordable power to support the ever-growing need for electricity in North America. The company is unique in its ability to support merchant grid , behind the meter, private microgrid and bridge power solutions for the growing needs of Data Centers, industrial reshoring and fleet electrification.The position will be in our clients Houston or Denver office.
The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of electrical engineering projects, from initial concept development to project closure. This includes overseeing detailed scope development, engineering and design, procurement, construction, commissioning, start-up, and final project completion. The role will involve preparation of specifications for low, medium, and high voltage (480V 138kV) electrical and distribution systems and equipment, as well as close coordination with project teams, vendors, and owner electrical reliability teams. The Senior Electrical Engineer will ensure successful execution of electrical infrastructure projects, maintaining compliance with relevant standards and codes.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BS) required. P.E
10-20 years of applicable electrical engineering experience, with a focus on power systems and electrical infrastructure projects.
Synchronization of multiple sources onto micro or public grids.
In-depth knowledge of the NEC, ISA, ANSI, NEMA, NFPA, IEC, and IEEE standards and codes.
Hands-on experience with HV/MV/LV switchgear, motor control systems, VFDs, transformers, large HP motors (both induction and synchronous), and electrical SCADA systems.
Extensive experience in specifying electrical equipment and designing systems for complex infrastructure projects, including MCCs, transformers, switchgear, motors, and distribution components.
Strong experience in electrical system modeling, arc flash risk assessments, and electrical coordination studies. ETAP experience .
Proven ability to create detailed design and construction packages, including all technical documentation required for system installation and operation.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines while coordinating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for resolving complex electrical engineering issues.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports, specifications, and interacting with stakeholders.
Experience with commissioning and startup of electrical systems and infrastructure.
Familiarity with international standards and practices in electrical engineering.
Primary Responsibilities
Leads electrical engineering efforts on projects, from design through to commissioning and start-up.
Develops and manages electrical specifications and requisitions for purchasing electrical equipment, including MCCs, switchgear, VFDs, transformers, and motors.
