**Description**
**Ideal candidate will have 2+ years of Emergency Medicine experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.**
**This is a Nocturnist position at a .85 FTE.**
**JOB DESCRIPTION:**
+ Assists in the evaluation and treatment of patients.
+ Documents the delivery of care in the individual's medical records.
+ Conducts patient interviews and documents patient histories, psychosocial histories, health status and medical problems or potential problems.
+ Under the direction of a physician, performs physical examinations and specialized diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures including cast application and removal, wound suturing and dressing changes.
+ Assists physician in diagnosing medical problems, developing care plans, and prescribing treatment.
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:**
+ Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program.
+ Currently licensed as an advanced practice nurse in the state of Georgia by the Georgia Board of Nursing and certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body, or Certified as a Physician's Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
+ Licensed as appropriate in the state of Georgia.
+ May require at least one year of direct experience in one or more high acuity clinical specialties.
+ BLS issued by the American Heart Association and Healthcare Provider certifications required. ACLS may be required in some areas.

Clinical Research Coordinator

The Clinical Research Coordinator handles or assists with the administrative activities generally associated with the conduct of clinical trials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintains data pertaining to research projects, completes source documents/case report forms, and performs data entry.
  • Assists with patient recruitment.
  • Attends study meetings.
  • Orders and maintains equipment and supplies.
  • Reviews medical records and/or conducts screenings for recruitment of study participants, performs interviews and QOL questionnaires.
  • Collects study specimen according to protocol which may include phlebotomy, processing, and preparation for shipping.
  • Coordinates services, schedules procedures, creates and maintains case packages, and monitors charges.
  • Assists with quality assurance and tracks regulatory submissions.
  • Performs related approved responsibilities as required.

Emory University Department of Emergency Medicine is searching for Faculty in Emergency Medicine who provides medical care to patients in a hospital emergency department. This includes examining, evaluating, and treating patients with emergent medical conditions, illnesses or injuries.
**Qualifications:** Georgia Medical License, graduation from an American Board of Emergency Medicine-certified residency training program, Emergency Medicine Board Certified or Board Eligible, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, hospital privileges at Grady Memorial and Emory Healthcare Hospitals, and an appointment to the Faculty of the Emory University School of Medicine.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Provide high quality patient care in one or more of the program's affiliated emergency departments
+ May participate in medical staff activity, department QA, or other service at one of the programs affiliated hospitals under the direction of the ED director of that hospital
+ May supervise medical students, house staff, and other trainees or learners
+ Insure that all emergency medical care delivered in the department meets a high standard of quality. The attending physician in the department is ultimately responsible for all care given in the ED during their shift
+ Maintain professional skills and an appropriate fund of knowledge through continuing medical education

+ Applicants must be board eligible or certified by ABEM/AOBEM and be able to obtain an appointment to the Emory University School of Medicine and The Emory Clinic
+ Fellows must be able to obtain medical licensure in the state of Georgia and obtain hospital credentials in emergency medicine at Emory Healthcare and Grady Health System. Fellows must be eligible at participants in Medicare, Medicaid and other third-party payers contracted with Emory Healthcare and Grady Health System
+ Other concerns or modifications from the standard curriculum outline will be considered on an individual basis
**Key Responsibilities (non-program specific):**
+ Provide high quality patient care in one or more of the program's affiliated emergency departments

**Fellowship Evaluation:**
Successful completion of coursework will be considered the minimal requirement for completion of the didactic component of the first two years of the program. The participant's performance will be formally reviewed by the fellow's mentor as well as faculty advisors from both within and outside the Department of Emergency Medicine.
The clinical performance will be evaluated by the Emergency Department Medical Director/Service Chief of the fellow's base hospital and reviewed by the Chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine. Written feedback will include evaluations by all training physicians and students who were mentored by the fellow.
