Job Description

**Responsibilities**
+ Support the Engineering Work Center with installation of new equipment on the range and into facilities. Position will also modify existing equipment and provide trouble shooting assistance for communication systems. Position includes all communication and data systems located on Fallon Tactical Training Range (TTR) and where they terminate in the Control Facilities on Naval Air Station Fallon.
+ Range communications support to include field engineering, installation, and integration of equipment and facilities necessary to meet TTR communication and video requirements.
+ Project support as assigned, to include engineering assistance in design, fabrication, cost analysis, procurement, installation, configuration change, development, documentation, and integration of approved projects.
+ New requirements support as assigned, to include integration of system modifications, range reconfigurations and new facility buildups. These activities are further defined as those relative to Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and the planning, proposal and implementation of modifications, improvement and upgrades.
+ Equipment relocation to include cost analysis optimization studies, engineering studies, integration and installation in support of range growth or other requirements.
+ Inoperative systems support as assigned to include field-engineering actions necessary to return equipment/systems to operational status.
+ Support the Configuration Management (CM) program to include the evaluation and monitoring of all modifications to TTR equipment or facilities, the generation of change requests to improve operability/reliability/maintainability, and ensuring that applicable CM standards are adhered to.
+ Assists in identifying sources of spare parts for systems.
+ Complex system analysis and troubleshooting to assist in returning mission support systems to operational availability status when required.
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Education Requirements:**
+ High School Diploma or equivalent
**Minimum Experience Requirements:**
+ Five years' technical experience with Tactical Training Range systems or equivalent military systems.
+ Five years of instrumentation experience in the following areas:
+ Fiber Optics theory
+ Electromagnetic waves, antennas
+ Optical systems
+ Communications systems (analog, digital and voice)
+ Video signal processing and recording
+ Microwave Transmission
+ Static/dynamic systems calibration (radar and data)
+ Spectrum Analysis
+ Project Management
+ FM/VHF/UHF Systems
+ Ability to speak, read, and write English.
**Minimum Position-Specific Training Required:**
+ Formal classroom education equivalent to Navy "C" School or vocational school with formal training in the field of electronic equipment maintenance and equipment manufacturer training.

**MISSION / SUMMARY:**

**BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:**

Position Overview

Join us in our fast-paced support to develop, advance, and sustain weapon systems for the U.S. Space Force (USSF) and its mission partners. You will be joining a team of personnel with experience and an in-depth understanding of the environments that include ground, near-space, space, and any system that operates in those environments to meet current and projected strategic, operational, and tactical needs for the Department of Defense (DoD). We are seeking a Computer/Network Systems Engineer. The Computer/Network Systems Engineer is responsible for providing subject matter expertise in computer networks, network protocols, and network architecture as well as integrating/engineering cybersecurity into mission systems. The ideal candidate will have experience and expertise with modern Command, Control, Computing, Communications, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Targeting (C5ISRT) systems in the DoD. This position requires an individual who can work closely with technical teams, stakeholders, and partners to ensure program success.

Responsibilities
  • Provide computer and network systems engineering and technical advice for projects and programs as well as support program acquisition efforts for advanced technology, future concept development, and integration activities.
  • Support the revision or drafting of JCIDS and acquisition documentation such as Initial Capability Documents, Analysis of Alternatives, Concept of Operations, Technical/Systems Requirement Documents, Technical Evaluations, and System Specifications.
  • Provide inputs and support on technical and/or programmatic status reporting of individual projects, programs, or portfolios.
  • Identify areas of improvement with actionable, feasible recommendations, and tasks for reducing risk where appropriate as well as support risk identification, process definition, and detailed technical risk mitigation plans.
  • Maintain awareness of current program schedule, monitor acquisition implementation, report requirement shortfalls, and provide program assessments based on the identified risks.
  • Shall advise the Government program manager on technical engagements such as technical interchange meetings, design reviews, program conferences, and other informational meetings.
  • Maintain a broad awareness and understanding of all programs and technology development efforts in execution across the applicable portfolio as well as assist integrated product teams and working groups.
  • Provide technical and operational insight to support mission protection, operations, and mission data assessments as well as recommend viable solutions for technical anomalies.
  • Provide recommendations regarding cyber activities, including techniques, packets, and mission partner responsibilities.
  • Maintain awareness of Authority to Operate, Authority to Test, Authority to Connect, and Interim Authorities as well as support cyber testing and assessment activities.
