**Main Responsibilities**
+ Provide input and studies to support decision making process with site leadership team and central function.

+ **Lead project analysis on resource, schedule & budget planning and risk assessment:** Monitor and report out to customers on project costs, status, quality; raise issues when necessary. Evaluate changes that substantially impact the scope, budget, or schedule of projects and drive decisions on these changes.
+ **Collaborate with resource managers to ensure appropriate staffing on projects:** Influence and make decisions about scope, schedule, and resources.
+ **Drive process and tool improvement efforts:** Drive continuous improvement through successful lessons learned activities that result in appropriate process or tool changes. **For This Role, You Will Need:**
+ A PMP or PMI-ACP certification, or be able to attain one within 6 months of hire.
+ A minimum of at least 5years' experience leading and directing customer-facing engineering projects.
+ Experience in managing customer-facing solution delivery with strong communication skills, presentation skills and negotiation skills
+ A Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline or equivalent work experience.
+ Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time.
+ Demonstrated technical and executive communication skills.
+ Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and work effectively with teams
+ US Person (US Citizen or Green Card ) ONLY, ability to work on ITAR projects and qualify for DoD Clearances

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Major Projects Engineering Scheduler works closely with project management, project engineers, construction management, and cost engineers to ensure projects have aggressive but achievable engineering and overall EPC schedules. This position is key in providing analysis and reports to ensure that projects are completed within the accepted schedule. The position is vital to organizing and communicating the execution plan through engineering and procurement for the projects within the Major Projects Group portfolio. Projects range in value from approximately $25MM to $1B and consist of revamps, new units, infrastructure projects, and new buildings. The position provides oversight to the schedule development and schedule adherence of selected engineering firms.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Builds and maintains level I/II major projects management schedule into the engineering department master schedule.
+ Builds ad-hoc schedules to support budget process.
+ Manages the tracking of required project deliverables, communicates to management if key deliverables are not being completed or deviating from schedule, and ensures final deliverables are retained by document controls.
+ Assists in the development of the project construction work package (CWP) list and tracks the issuance of packages to the schedule.
+ Performs schedule quality assurance on third party engineering developed schedules. Coordinates the completion of schedule risk assessments. Ensures EPC firm developed schedule deliverable is logically tied and capable of depicting a true critical path.
+ Facilitates a schedule update meeting with engineering firms scheduling department to identify what activity completion dates changed from baseline and why then summarizes this information and communicates to the Marathon Major Projects Team. Identifies schedule adherence risk and daylights to management.
+ Participates in weekly engineering project update meetings with engineering firms.
+ Works closely with Major Projects Contract Administration to publish a look-ahead of key milestone dates or requirements to keep the contracting cycle on schedule.
+ Participates in and helps facilitate interactive planning sessions
+ Coordinates the compilation of schedule data for submission to benchmarking service (IPA).
+ Communicates to cost engineering schedule deviation and contributes to monthly project forecasting.
+ Reviews progress for accuracy and overall project percent complete reporting.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required Qualifications :
+ Has at least 10 years heavy industrial, refining, or petrochemical major project scheduling experience and has (preferably) worked as an owner's representative.
+ Has relevant experience working in an EPC environment.
+ High School Diploma or equivalent required.
+ Has expert proficiency with Primavera P6.
+ Is well organized and detail oriented.
+ Works well in teams.
+ Is a great communicator (verbal and written).
+ Capable of periodic travel (~20% of time).
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office products - Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Field experience during the construction of industrial projects.
+ Familiarity with SAP, IPS (Prometheus), Netpoint.
+ Implementation of Business Process Improvement.

**Context/Scope:**
Position requires a strong knowledge of high-speed bottling, canning, and beverage alcohol distillation plant operations in a variety of subjects, fields and duties including liquid processing, packaging, distillation, procurement, and project management. A strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills are critical for this role. This position is responsible for and leads the delivery and implementation of the Diageo North America's capital budget ($200MM+ annually) across all areas of the business. The ideal candidate must be able to work in a multi-functional role to achieve business objectives with the technical, plant, finance and procurement functions across the US, Canada, and US Virgin Islands. The incumbent assumes responsibility for successfully accomplishing work objectives and delivering business results, setting high standards of performance for self and others. The ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects, tasks and organizational needs in an environment that is always multifaceted is a critical success factor. The Engineering Director needs to be diverse enough to understand and track the needs of the business at the most economic cost and highest quality. Clearly communicates parameters to delegated responsibility, including decision-making authority, and required actions or deadlines.
This individual must drive effective leadership and communication to all team members including, but not limited to; contractors, consultants, vendors, and the project partners to coordinate all aspects of initiatives and input at all phases of development. Depending on the project, this position may act as a project/program manager for substantial initiatives and is accountable for overall engineering leadership. The position is accountable for delivering upon long-term business objectives and capacity needs in partnership with the executive management team.
**Purpose of Role:**
The Director of Engineering will have overall responsibility for project, packaging, and process engineering for the company. They are accountable for Diageo North America's capital budget, capital master planning (5-year), development, capital engineering, process/early engineering, project management standards and implementation/post-implementation support. Further, the role sets and supports Diageo's diversity, sustainability (2030 ambition), and reliability standards.
The role is responsible for leading the execution and delivery of projects and strategic programs across multiple NA sites. To technical and engineering support to Manufacturing, Technical Operations, Brand Innovation, Brand Change and Procurement organizations.
**Decision Making & Financial Responsibility**
The Engineering director is accountable for evaluating engineering and technical solutions to support projects across the North American region. The role is required to make and support decisions within North America, negotiate with suppliers or internal customers to help deliver the expectations for the benefit of Diageo, within policies and guidelines, delivering North America's company objectives.
**Management Responsibility**
Develop and mentor talent across engineering and technical operations and instill a high-performance work environment and a culture of accountability. Job Summary
The Marathon Los Angeles Refinery located in Carson; CA has an opening for a Project Management - Project Engineering. This mid-career position will be responsible for managing multiple capital and expense Mid-Cap projects (roughly $1 million to $5 million TIC per project) simultaneously within an approved budget and execution schedule. The Project Manager will be responsible for the project from conceptual engineering through project completion. The position will report to the Advanced Project Manager and have responsibility for managing all aspects of assigned projects to define overall project scope, develop a cost estimate and schedule, develop construction work packages, support project construction and close out the projects. The successful candidate will be a self-directed and motivated individual who has good understanding of the project management processes and experience in refinery or petrochemical equipment and processes.
The available schedules for the position are 9/80, 5/40 or 4/1, after hours calls occur occasionally during the year and support of TAR once a year. Core business hours are: 8 AM - 3:30 PM.
Key Responsibilities
+ Apply project management and engineering skills and knowledge during 5-step gated project process from conceptual to closeout.
+ Manage multiple projects and assignments in a timely, safe, and cost-effective manner.
+ Interact with project team members, key refinery stakeholders, and corporate SMEs to ensure that the project scope is clearly defined and meets the requirements of the end user.
+ Directly responsible to manage, address issues, provide direction and track progress of engineering contractors.
+ Coordinate activities of multifunctional project teams consisting of operating owner and contract employees.
+ Develop decision support packages (DSPs) for assigned projects, which include a project's objective, scope, schedule, benefits/justification, options, and costs.
+ Present DSPs to management to obtain approval and funding.
+ Initiate and participate in management of change (MOC) reviews for applicable projects.
+ Review design drawings and specifications and coordinate input from stakeholders. Participate in technical reviews with engineers from contract firms and equipment suppliers.
+ Manage project scope, cost, and schedule to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget.
+ Ensure assigned projects comply with all applicable Marathon and refining industry specifications and standards.
+ Collaborate with project controls group for project scheduling, estimating, cost management, and forecasting.
+ Coordinate with procurement in development of contracting plan, including engineering services and equipment sourcing.
+ Develop Construction Work Packages and support construction and commissioning of assigned projects through field walks, responding to RFIs and approving installations before turning over to operations.
+ Provide documentation and support Operations and Maintenance departments to develop manuals, operating and maintenance procedures, and equipment training.
Education, Experience, and Skills
Minimum Requirements
+ Must have a Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline.(Education must be obtained/completed prior to start date) (Degree must be accredited in US.)
+ Must have at least 8 years of combined experience as an Engineer and a Project Manager in a refinery, petro-chemical or other heavy related industry.
+ Must have at least 2 years of Project Management experience in a refining or petrochemical plant and other heavy industry.
+ Must be proficient in Microsoft: Word, Excel and Outlook.
+ Must have strong planning and coordinating skills.
+ Must be able to wear appropriate PPE in the refinery (respirator), be able to physically perform all tasks in the field and take hair drug test and physical.
+ Must have a valid driver's license. (MPC determines valid status.)
+ Must be legally authorized to work in the US without the need for future VISA sponsorship.
+ Travel Requirement is 5% or less.
