The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position:
Product Development:- Act as the product owner through entire product lifecycle, utilizing strong planning and organization skills.
- Serve as a key contact person to internal/external customers and cross functional team members and executives, including reporting out project status and risks.
- Mentor and support project leaders in the creation and execution of the project timeline and budget, assigning and reviewing team member work products ensuring project deliverables, quality and cost targets.
- Lead project leaders and engineering staff to ensure they are capable of leading internal/external project reviews and managing design change requests through Change Control Board review and approval process.
- Engineering work products may include customer and internal product specifications, DRBFM, DFMEA, FTA, component and product drawings, Bill of Materials (BOMs), DV/PV test plans, test equipment specifications and training manuals.
- Lead the establishment of product roadmaps for the North American market, based on market, product and technical trend analysis.
- Mentor and support project engineers in the plan creation and execution of competitive benchmarking analysis.
- Ensure product teams can assess our products technical and cost competitiveness and make product improvement ideas based on the results.
- Assist Sales Planning Team(s) in the creation and/or explanation of product technical materials in the support of RFI/RFQ activities.
- Lead advanced development activities, including the demonstration of proof of concepts as part of pre-RFI/RFQ activities.
- Engage in proactive strategic planning and execution in cooperation with global tech centers.
- 10+ years of experience in automotive product development, testing and validation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage engineering teams and projects.
- Track record for continuous improvement of engineering team organization and processes.
- Familiar with lifecycle management and collaboration tools (e.g., IBM DOORS, JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint).
- Knowledge of automotive bus protocols (CAN/CAN-FD, LIN).
- Basic proficiency with data acquisition, measurement and testing tools (e.g. Vector CANalyzer/CANoe, digital multimeter, oscilloscope).
- Strong interpersonal, communication and documentation skills.
- Knowledge of technical problem-solving skills and tools.
- Proficient in MS Office suite (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
- Development of power closure systems or advanced power seating systems.

Role OverviewWe are seeking a Director of Engineering to lead the engineering teams responsible for designing, building, and maintaining critical applications and integrations within the LinOS ecosystem. This role requires a highly technical leader who can drive engineering excellence, cross-functional collaboration, and scalable solutions. - 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years leading teams.
- Proven experience in large-scale, complex development for multi-system software builds.
- Strong technical architecture and software design experience.
- Experience working with geographically dispersed engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of system integrations, APIs, cloud-based architectures.
- Prior experience with high-scale platforms (1K+ users, distributed systems).
- Ability to debug and troubleshoot system-wide issues (hands-on in problem-solving).
- Familiarity with modern development methodologies (Agile, CI/CD, DevOps best practices).
- Strong cross-team collaboration skills (must work closely with Product, WMS, WCS, Data Science, etc.).
- Ability to drive consensus on technical solutions across different stakeholder groups.
- Effective communicator, capable of influencing without direct authority.

IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:
- Provide direct leadership to a team of Project Engineers and Project Technicians responsible for delivering large, project-based business, ensuring effective management of time, cost, and quality.
- Define and implement the overarching project execution strategy , ensuring alignment with Branson's operational and commercial goals.
- Develop and mentor team members, encouraging a collaborative, development-focused environment passionate about professional growth and accountability.
- Oversee project planning processes , including the definition of scope, objectives, timelines, prioritization, and budget management.
- Establish and track Key Performance Indicators (critical metrics) to ensure cost, quality, and lead time targets are met-holding the team accountable for measurable performance and customer satisfaction.
- Serve as the primary point of coordination with internal and external collaborators , including customers.
- Lead post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement across project workflows.
- Act as Site Leader for Branson's Innovation Center in Farmington Hills, MI, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, inclusion, safety, and customer service across a diverse, multi-disciplinary team.

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
- Relevant years of progressive experience in Engineering, Technical project management or Product development roles commensurate with teh level of this position.
- Strong eye for business and ability to connect technical execution to customer value and business growth.
- Experience implementing standardized project workflows and leading continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proven track record to inspire, coach, and build high-performing teams in a matrixed environment.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and collaborator leadership skills.
- Ability to travel 15% based on business need

- 5+ years of progressive experience in Engineering, Technical project management or Product development roles.
- 7+ years' experience leading a team
