**Job Description**
**AECOM is currently searching for a Civil Engineering Discipline Leader to support aviation design management in the Hunt Valley, Maryland location. This position is expected to begin as soon as available in our Transportation Aviation Business Line.**
The position involves planning, design, engineering, and construction for airport projects dealing with airfield safety, standards, improvement, and expansion programs. Design work includes airfield planning, layout, and site design, earthwork analyses and design, hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and design, pavement design and maintenance, construction safety and phasing, aircraft layouts and modeling, storm water management design, erosion and sediment control design, utility coordination and design, environmental permitting, and preparation of construction plans, specifications, schedules, design reports, and cost estimates. Construction work includes construction administration and management including shop drawing review, responding to contractor questions, and construction inspection. The Aviation Engineering Group interacts with and is supported by many other in-house disciplines including Planners, Architects, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Civil, Environmental, Geotechnical and Special Systems Engineers in typical projects supporting our airport clients.

+ Resolves important questions and plans and coordinates work

+ Receives direction on unusual conditions and developments
+ Completes designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematics, and final working drawings for preparation of construction plans related to airport development projects including runways, taxiways, aprons, hangars, terminals, and other airport facilities
+ Prepares construction specifications for airport development projects per FAA Advisory Circular 150/ and State requirements
+ Prepares design reports, schedules, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates
+ Uses various computer software for design development and prepares plans in Civil 3D
+ Coordinates and collaborates with other airport/civil engineering, architectural, and engineering disciplines, sub-consultants, Utility companies, permitting agencies, contractors, government and regulatory agencies, and clients
+ Serves as engineering Task Leader and conducts direct task supervision and mentorship of CAD Staff, Designers, and other Engineers at discretion of department manager
+ Performs construction administration
+ Performs work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ Bachelor's of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering degree + 8 years of related civil experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

We are seeking an experienced Aviation Project Manager Civil to lead high-impact aviation projects from concept to completion. In this role, you will oversee planning, design, budgeting, scheduling, and stakeholder coordination for both airside and landside civil engineering projects . You will play a key role in ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery while building lasting client relationships in the aviation sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple aviation civil engineering projects to meet scope, schedule, and budget objectives.
- Collaborate with internal teams and subconsultants to create risk-adverse project scopes and competitive fees.
- Develop and maintain detailed Project Management Plans and quality management processes.
- Create, update, and monitor project schedules, identifying and mitigating potential risks.
- Oversee subconsultant performance and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Provide regular project updates, progress reports, and invoices to clients and internal teams.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with aviation clients, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
- Lead project presentations and participate in proposal development, interviews, and marketing efforts.

Required Qualifications
