Role Overview

TheRobotics Field Application Engineer will be a vital member of the MAXIMO solar innovation business, responsible for the deployment, support, and field optimization of our MAXIMO robot and managing the operational aspects of the robot in the field. Qualifications

What else do you need?

If you have worked in construction and have knowledge of aerial and underground conduit and/or duct installations and/or fiber cable experience (jetting, placing, splicing), you can easily bring your skills and knowledge and make an impact right away.

You will learn to communicate the ins and out of our industry products to help develop lasting relationships with vendors and customers while assisting them as subject-matter experts on Dura-Line products. You will be empowered to recommend the best solutions and train them in the process with help from the product management and sales team. A Field Application Engineer promotes the latest technologies within the Automated Material Handling industry to customers. They develop strong relationships with the industrial and distribution clients in a geographical area and provides them with exceptional material handling and automation solutions to meet their business requirements. This role allows you to work with some of the latest technologies in the ever-changing material handling field including robotics, mobile robotics, autonomous vehicles, AGV's, and more.

Job Functions:

  • Develop strong relationships with our customers through timely, regular visits
  • Assess needs and present solutions tailored to customer specifications
  • Sell a wide variety of products and services to meet your customer's needs
  • Collaborate with other Bastian Solutions entities to provide the best solution to the customer
  • Provide professional sales quotes in a timely manner
  • Master business technology (AutoCad, CRM, Power Point presentations, etc.)
  • Pursue leads from our Web Site and suppliers
  • Maintain customer database information current in our CRM
  • Communicate strategic information regarding suppliers, customers, and competition
  • Network with business contacts within the territory and industry
  • Master product information through training and personal efforts
Travel Requirements:
  • 25% overnight travel (expenses paid by Bastian)
Preferred Skills and Required Qualifications :

  • 2+ years of previous engineering work experience
  • Technical Sales experience, industrial sector preferred

The Field Application Specialist (FAS) acts as a technical expert and customer advocate for Yokogawa's Industrial Automation Products for Flow and Pressure. This role involves providing expert level pre-sales technical support, conducting product demonstrations, training users and reps, and assisting with the implementation of solutions tailored to customer needs. The FAS works closely with the direct and indirect sales team, product management, and customer support to ensure customer satisfaction and successful product adoption.

Region to be covered is Western USA. Position can be remote at any major metropolitan city in Western USA.

Key Responsibilities

1. Pre-Sales Activities
  • Provide in-depth technical expertise on Yokogawa Flow and Pressure products.
  • Collaborate with the sales (direct and indirect) team to provide technical consultations and support (troubleshooting, application optimization, and usage guidance )during the pre-sales process.
  • Demonstrate product capabilities, emphasizing their relevance to customer needs.
  • Address technical questions and objections to facilitate the sales process.
  • Serve as the primary contact for resolving pre-sales technical queries.
2. Training & Education
  • Conduct on-site and virtual pre-sales product training sessions for direct and indirect sales team.
  • Conduct Lunch&Learn sessions at end user sites.
5. Collaboration & Feedback Loop
  • Act as a liaison between customers and internal teams, providing feedback to product management to improve offerings.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of customer interactions, issues, and resolutions.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and competitor offerings to provide strategic insights.
6. Travel Requirements
  • Travel to customer sites, conferences, and trade shows as needed - minimum 50% of the time.
Qualifications

Education & Experience:
  • Technical Program or Bachelor's degree in engineering, or relevant field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar technical, application, or customer-facing role.
Skills & Competencies:
