- A bachelors degree in finance, business, or accounting.
- A Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and/or Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is preferred.
- A pass in the Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) exam may be advantageous.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience working in an accounting or auditing role.
- Excellent knowledge of the procedures prescribed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
- Strong understanding of anti-money laundering regulations.
- Ability to work independently without the need for supervision.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software.

The role sits with the Forensic Support team.
The team provides forensic support to the Fiduciary, Insolvency, and Trust teams.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Assist Managers/Directors in conducting forensic accounting exercises to investigate financial discrepancies and support legal proceedings.
- Manage and perform accounting tasks for assigned entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards.
- Assist in maintaining regulatory and statutory records, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and compliant with legal requirements.
- Help maintain key databases and other records, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
- Assist with the billing process and fee collection, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing and payment tracking.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Staff & Senior Forensic Accountant is a proactive problem-solver with excellent communication and analytical skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as within a team.

Job Responsibilities:
- Analyze a variety of financial documents, including general ledgers, P&Ls, balance sheets, payroll records, and bank statements
- Apply critical thinking to solve complex problems and develop supportable, defensible conclusions
- Communicate proactively with team members to share progress, flag potential issues, and seek feedback
- Conduct industry and technical research relevant to accounting standards and case-specific issues
- Review financial records and documentation with an eye toward identifying inconsistencies, red flags, or unusual activity
- Translate raw data into meaningful financial insights tailored to the needs of each case
- Identify trends, anomalies, and other significant patterns in data
- Assist in the development of preliminary findings, exhibits, and client deliverables
- Support special projects and internal initiatives as needed
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
- CPA license or CPA eligibility (completion of exam requirements) required
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience (e.g., audit, financial analysis, or similar)
- Prior forensic accounting or litigation support experience is a plus but not required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with data analysis tools is a plus
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a client-driven environment.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
- Effective communicator with the ability to tailor messaging to audiences with varying financial acumen.
