About the Position

The Fulfillment Center Associate has overall responsibility to work productively in the Fulfillment Center, as the Senior Director of Fulfillment, Logistics and Facilities best sees fit for daily operation. Managers or Supervisors will assign specific tasks within their respective departments daily. Each Fulfillment Center Associate is responsible for knowing how to perform all of the following functions in both Retail/Wholesale and E-Commerce such as receiving, stocking, put away, picking, packing/manifesting, returns, replenishment and VAS.

A day in the life.

  • This position is responsible for following all procedures and meet or exceed the required productivity rates established for all tasks in all departments.
  • All Fulfillment Center employees must understand and adhere to the "Fulfillment Center Work Rules". These works rules are posted on the bulletin boards located near the main entrances of the Fulfillment center.
  • In addition, each Fulfillment Center Associate will be responsible to learn at least 2 of the following tasks: operate a forklift truck; sales sample processing; returns processing; zone checks; cycle counting; shipping; and, and assist with building maintenance.
  • This position is responsible for a sense of urgency and an appreciation of the deadlines set by the industry. Because of the seasonality of the industry, timeliness is essential. Merchandise is either on time or the deadline is missed; there is no concept of lateness. Deadlines must be met.
  • This position is responsible for treating the merchandise with appreciation and respect. Lilly Pulitzerâ merchandise is special and high quality. It should be handled with care and respect.
  • This position is responsible for assisting in any company sales as assigned by the Senior Director of Fulfillment, Logistics and Facilities. This includes assisting with the setup, operations during and after the sales.
Qualifications for the Position
  • A high school diploma is strongly preferred, but not required for this position.
  • One year of relevant work experience in a Fulfillment or materials handling environment, preferably in soft goods or apparel is strongly preferred, but not required for this position.
  • This position requires responsibility, dependability and commitment. This position requires a sense of urgency and the ability to meet seasonal peaks, workloads and deadlines. In the apparel business there is no concept of lateness. The company is either on time or it has missed the deadline.

Develop and execute procurement strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of raw materials and packaging. ? Lead supplier negotiations to secure favorable pricing, terms, and service levels. ? Monitor commodity markets and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly. ? Manage supplier contracts, performance, and compliance with food safety and sustainability standards. ? Collaborate with production, sales, and operations teams to develop accurate supply plans that align with demand forecasts. ? Ensure continuity of supply while minimizing excess inventory and obsolescence. ? Identify and mitigate supply risks through proactive planning and contingency strategies. ? Oversee inventory control processes to maintain optimal stock levels and reduce waste. ? Implement best practices for inventory accuracy, cycle counting, and reporting. ? Analyze inventory trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives. ? Provide strategic oversight and guidance to Materials Management and Outbound Logistics teams through dotted-line reporting. ? Ensure alignment between procurement, warehousing, and distribution functions. ? Foster collaboration across departments to support operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. ? Lead and mentor a team of supply chain professionals. ? Promote a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. Required Skills/Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred) 8+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, procurement, or operations roles, preferably in the food manufacturing industry. Proven expertise in supplier negotiation, inventory optimization, and supply planning. Experience and proven success in MRP based planning. Proven ability to develop, build and improve processes and systems. Proficiency in ERP systems and supply chain planning tools. Job Description I am partnering with a small-midsize manufacturing company in the Morris County, NJ area that is looking to add a Director of Supply Chain to their team. They are looking for someone with a strategic supply chain background to help build a strategy that will help the company from a financial and future-growth perspectives. It will have the chance to lead a team, work with the leadership team, and opportunity to make a major impact on the company. RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop, implement, and execute strategic supply chain processes in support of supply chain and business objectives, including sourcing of new suppliers as needed. Responsible for managing plant level associates who create and achieve production/purchase plans in support of goals & objectives. Maintains departmental exception system, documentation review, employee time management and performance review processing, employee training, budget control and daily scheduling. Meets with suppliers to discuss issues, performance, and future strategies. Evaluates supplier processes and partners with suppliers to establish Best in Class performance. Responsible for long-term planning of the raw material market, supply base optimization, and financial implications of the material spend. Accountable for optimizing inventory turns - minimize excess & obsolete inventory through product life cycle management. Accountable for maximizing service levels, in conjunction with inventory goals, through distribution requirement planning and deployment. Leads and facilitates cross functional teams in support of strategic initiatives both within the supply chain organization and across the business units. Responsible for providing management with inventory projections and proactively identifies service level issues. REQUIREMENTS: BS in Supply Chain, Operations, or other related degree; 10+ years relevant experience. MBA and APICS certification . Experience working in a manufacturing environment. Strong leadership skills including leading projects with broad scope and impact outside own department and promotes teamwork between departments.
