As a Primary Care Physician, you'll enjoy access to the innovative tools and support you need to do what you do best - provide exceptional care:
- An innovative model of care:
- Patients age 65 and older, receive extended 40-minute appointments, giving their physicians quality time to care for seniors
- 20-minute appointments for patients under 65 and acute care visits
- Expanded care team:
- In addition to primary care physicians, the care team includes shared clerical staff, nurses, medication therapy management pharmacists and pharmacy management, RN case managers, health managers, social workers, clinic health associates, primary care nurse coordinators, behavioral health specialists (onsite and via telehealth) and coding educators
- Capped patient panel size
- The risk-adjusted patient panel size for physicians is capped at 2,100 patients and advanced practitioners at 1,800
- 36 clinical hours and four hours for administrative work
Additionally, the health system takes pride in the professional and developmental support they provide:
- Base salary model:
- Starting base salary of 320,000 (for those with two years or less experience; higher for those above two years of experience) to 375,000 compensation for providers based on quality metrics
- Recruitment incentive: 100K incentive paid in a lump sum upon start
- Medical school loan repayment: 150K paid in 4 installments
- Residency/Fellowship stipend: 2,500/month available up to 18 months prior to graduation
- Geography stipend of 10K (at specified locations)
- Ability to sponsor H1B
- Continuing medical education: 15 working days and 3,500 annually
- Teaching opportunities:
- Available at one of four primary care residency programs, including family medicine, internal medicine, and internal medicine/pediatrics. Additional teaching opportunities are available via advanced practice preceptorship, medical student teaching, and faculty appointment with the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine

This position is primarily Monday through Friday, 4 dayshifts (8:00 am - 5:00 pm) and 1 evening shift (10:00 am - 7:00 pm) per week. One Saturday morning per month, 4 hours, (8:00 am - 12:00 pm). Purpose:
Provides professional nursing care to office patients under supervision of patient care providers.
Responsibilities:

Draw blood.

Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).

Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM and IV drip.

Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.

Assess patient's general condition and take vital signs and weight.

Comply with all policies and procedures.

Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse.

Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.

Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

Act 33 with renewal

Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Temporary Practice Permit (TPP)

*Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
