This is an ideal role for a Python enthusiast who wants to grow their skills in production engineering, 3D data workflows, and scalable tool development. You will implement and support C++ and HLSL shader code and debug and diagnose problems with the system during development and future releases. Our ideal candidate will have experience programming on either Xbox or PlayStation, the curiosity to tackle cutting-edge technical challenges, the knowledge to apply tried-and-true solutions, and the experience to determine the difference.
• Drive features and performance of our multi-platform code on Unreal Engine across PlayStation and Xbox consoles
• Parse through large, complicated rendering systems in both C++ and shader code, and discern how the two are coupled and work together
• Utilize graphics debugging and performance tools like Render Doc and nVidia nSight, knowing when and how to use them
• Collaborate with team members of all disciplines to design and implement new features to the existing graphics pipeline
• Extensive math skills to draw upon when needed (ie, Spherical Harmonics)

- Work with and lead a core technology engineering team to develop key engine systems and focus on performance and optimization

The expected base pay range for this position in the location(s) listed above is $116,200.00 to $269,100.00 per year. We are currently seeking a full-time Senior Graphics Engineer to work on our next generation game engine for both announced and unannounced titles to build up our team of dedicated and experienced talent! This is a salaried, full-time position at our Plymouth, Michigan office and relocation assistance will be provided.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Develop and implement new and existing rendering techniques.
- Create and optimize shaders and materials to run on a variety of platforms and machine specifications.
- Develop systems for animations and special effects.
- Work with the technical art team to create editors and tools that help improve the art pipeline.
- Implement graphics using modern APIs (DirectX, OpenGL, Vulkan, Metal).
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years experience creating materials and shaders.
- Strong proficiency in 3D math, linear algebra, shaders, HLSL/GLSL, physically based rendering, image based lighting, materials and global illumination.
- A passion for optimization and familiarity with optimization tools.
- Self-motivated, likes to identify and solve problems.
- Very strong C++ background.
- Familiarity with Unreal Engine is a plus.

We are looking for a computer graphics engineer to work with the team on developing synthetic data to train and validate 3D Machine Learning features in Quest and Wearable products.
A successful engineer will have deep development experience in C++ / Python, as well as with 3D packages such as Blender, particularly in the domain of scene generation (both exterior and interiors).
An extra plus would also be experience or interest in ML based rendering techniques.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work with engineers and technical artists to build and render procedural / ML techniques for creating indoor and outdoor scenes
- Contribute to scaled rendering pipelines generating millions of image frames
- Partner with Computer Vision / Machine Learning teams on dataset creation including requirements and deliveries.
- Build scaled workflows encompassing an entire render pipeline from sensor simulation and scene generation to rendering and ground truth creation (creating semantic segmentation, depth, normals, etc)
- Study state-of-the-art algorithms in the field of camera-based signal processing
- Assess and recommend emerging technologies through close partnership with external, industry leading suppliers
- Analyze and improve efficiency of algorithms

Help take your knowledge of rendering and shading and translate the results into innovative novel algorithms used by Apple customers around the world in products ranging from Vision Pro to iPhone and iPad. You will be a key member of the growing engineering team for a new project. You will be
responsible for all aspects of the development related to graphics and visual presentation of the game. You will be a bridge between the engineering and hardware and the creative team and their game vision.
