Position Summary

  • Conduct deep-dive analyses into operations and customer performance trends to identify actionable insights

  • Utilize data visualization tools such as Tableau, to develop innovative dashboards and present key performance metrics including customer analytics and key trends and propose data-driven solutions in internal and external meetings

  • Actively participate and support in continuous improvement activities and cost saving initiatives

  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to analyze existing workflows to identify bottlenecks and recommend enhancements to drive out waste

Major Responsibilities:

Supply Chain

• Weigh or count items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards (as applicable). Follow daily parts control function, including track and trace, production schedule analysis, and exception management. Provide parts follow up ensuring optimal material flow.

Analytics

• Assist in the development and presentation of customer analytics, key trends, and solution proposals during internal and external meetings. In addition, assist in continuous improvement and cost savings initiatives.

Customer Relations

• Work with customers to resolve stock shortages, meet deadlines and answer questions. Proactively seek opportunities to improve customer inventory and material flow processes. Timely and accurate communication of critical issues to manager and customer.

Process Improvement

• Examine current processes and implement, or recommend improvements to drive out waste. Follow processes that are set by Engineering and assist with the implementation of any process and transportation design changes.

Supplier/Carrier Relations

• Work with suppliers to correct part/shipment issues. Track shipments to ensure shipment deadlines are met. Work with carriers to resolve issues in transit or at customer facility.

Other Projects

• As assigned by the Manager

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's degree preferred

• 1 year of inventory/auditing/transportation experience preferred

• Fundamental understanding of transportation, supply chain and logistics

• Ability to learn and operate various inventory and transportation management systems, in addition to extension applications.

• Ability to follow processes and procedures

• Data Analysis skills required

• Strong problem solving and time management skills required

• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work independently and multi task required

• Ability to follows process and standard procedures

• Experience analyzing large sets of data preferred

• Advanced computer skills including Excel and Outlook required

• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job

• Willingness to travel as necessary, work the hours necessary to accomplish the job duties, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening.

Supply Chain Planner
A client of ours is looking for a Supply Chain Planner for a contract role. This role is critical in supporting our external manufacturing, procurement, and outside operations functions, ensuring seamless product flow from planning through delivery. The ideal candidate will bring strong supply chain experience, ERP system familiarity (D365 and/or SAP), and advanced Excel skills including data analysis and pivot tables.
Responsibilities of Supply Chain Planner
+ Support supply planning and procurement activities for externally manufactured products and outside operations.
+ Execute outside operations strategies aligned with brand objectives and operational goals.
+ Manage supplier transactions and resolve issues related to POs, delivery timelines, material shortages, quality discrepancies, and brand-specific requirements.
+ Collaborate cross-functionally with innovation, technical, and business unit teams to align on new product/project timelines, forecasts, and deliverables.
+ Actively participate in project meetings and planning discussions, offering both executional support and strategic insight.
+ Foster strong internal relationships with key stakeholders across departments.
+ Navigate a dynamic product and packaging landscape with agility while ensuring critical deadlines and selling windows are met.
+ Monitor and communicate supply issues and operational updates to the Supply Chain Manager, along with recommendations for solutions.
+ Balance finished goods inventory to meet working capital targets without compromising customer service and case fill rate.
+ Partner with leadership to reconcile capacity and demand, offering alternative recommendations when needed.
Requirements
Skills/Qualifications of Supply Chain Planner
+ Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
+ 5+ years of experience in supply chain planning, procurement, or operations.
+ Experience with external manufacturing or outside operations is a plus.
+ Strong experience with ERP systems; D365 and SAP preferred.
+ Familiarity with new product launch cycles and working with technical/R& D teams.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis tools.
+ Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
+ Background in consumer goods or manufacturing industries.
+ Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
+ Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
