Role Summary/Purpose
The Plant Engineer will support our Industrial Coatings Services (ICS) Plant in New Castle, PA and will report to the on-site Business Manager. This role will be a hand-on position, with a primary objective in continuous improvement and maintenance of the New Castle facility. The Plant Engineer will support the team with the development and completion of capital projects, design and contract the manufacture of tooling, and supports the various teams throughout the plant. (i.e. Quality, Maintenance, Production, etc)
Requirements
- Supports production by designing and contracting the manufacture of tooling
- Writes and optimizes robot programs used to process parts
- Responsible for Cubicle uptime focusing on the prevention of plant robotics errors, PLC communication errors, and Dispenser issues
- Works with Quality organization to reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and achieve acceptable first pass yield
- Analyzes the reasons for equipment failure and leads Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) efforts
- Participates in reliability related incident investigations; prioritizes action items, and follows-up on their implementation
- Supports Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) efforts to increase machine utilization, as defined by facility targets
- Monitors equipment and special preventative maintenance standards to ensure quality product
- Provides project management, contractor quotations, and engineering assistance to Six Sigma and LEAN continuous improvement initiatives involving facilities and production equipment changes
- Conducts design reviews with safety and ergonomics focus on plant systems and production equipment changes
- Supports capital projects by supplying engineering expertise in the specification, design, and construction of capital projects in accordance with plant design requirements as well as regulatory standards
- Develops equipment repair procedures and specifications necessary to improve plant and equipment reliability
- Troubleshoots control systems both in the field and remotely through operator interfaces and databases
- Enjoys hands-on and team focused work environment
- Works well as part of a team of production, maintenance, quality, and sales professionals

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required, Mechanical Engineering preferred
- Proven ability to combine theoretical training with practical experience in a "hands-on" environment
- Effective project management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with ABB robotics language (RAPID) and experience in programming
- Solid Modeling (CAD) experience
