In addition, this position will support the Technical Department in scale-up engineering of new products, and process control. Principal Accountabilities + Assisting Production to meet weekly and annual production goals, conduct analysis of process conditions and suggest modification to increase process efficiency and develop proper documentations to comply with integrated management system. + Lead the daily maintenance and upgrading of the DCS. Adjust production recipe to meet quality and process requirements and also create recipe from lab scale to commercial implementation. + Provide support to Management for production and maintenances special projects and assist Production, Maintenance Manager and Sr. Engineer to ensure capital projects, and plant production meets safety, cost, schedule, and performance goals. Align resources, priorities and actions to strategic operational priorities. Able to identify, develop, and lead projects independently and collaboratively. + Assist Production Manager and team to implement the Environmental Health and Safety Program and maintain compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA and other Safety, Health and Environmental regulations + Assist Production Manager to coordinate with maintenance to schedule repairs and/or reduce hazards in a timely manner and to plan and schedule improvement and projects including planning of plan of plant turnarounds. + The employee is responsible for conducting their activities in adherence to the Company's Safety, Internal Control, and Integrated Management Systems and in compliance with all MCA corporate policies, procedures and training requirements. + Participate in Process Hazard Analysis/ HAZOP studies and studies, plan and execute measures to improve process safety. + Do additional assignments, as needed, to contribute to the achievement of Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation's strategic objectives (e.g., KAITEKI.) The purpose of the I&E Technician position is to safely repair and maintain the plant electrical and instrumentation equipment to meet the safety, reliability, and productivity objectives of the Pasadena Site. This role will be responsible for maintaining the site electrical and instrumentation equipment on a 60/40 basis.
Primary Role Responsibilities:
- Maintain strict adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations, rules, and procedures. Follow all safety and process safety protocols and procedures. Actively participate to maintain and improve safety performance.
- Promote continual improvement of safety and asset reliability through equipment, job plan, and procedure revisions. Work to improve maintenance processes and methods to reduce potential mistakes and defects. Collaborate with operations to resolve asset issues
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair site electrical equipment including 480VAC motor circuits, MCC power distribution system, and lighting circuits.
- Work safely on AC distribution systems from 12k volts to 120 volts
- Installation, calibration, inspection, troubleshooting and repair of electrical equipment and instrumentation, in accordance with NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, ISA and Company Standards.
- Support the sites' electrical reliability program and look for additional ways to improve electrical reliability and safety.
- Identify, interpret and effectively use drawings and documentation related to electrical and process controls including electrical one-line diagrams, wiring schematics, control schematics, P&ID's, instrument loop diagrams, etc.
- Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot field instrumentation including flow, pressure, temperature, level, analytical, MV and LV distribution and controls.
- Support Plant Operations to minimize production impacts and enhance reliability in accordance to site AI&R program.
- Develop knowledge and use of required computer software including SAP (CMMS), and other specific business applications as required.
Quality Assurance
- Provide effective repairs to avoid callbacks.
- Expedite the repair of all plant I/E equipment and perform in a quality manner.
- Assure compliance with ISO requirements.
Quality Responsibility
Maintenance of ISO certifications for the businesses by complying with processes, procedures and instructions for all activities in which this role participates.

Skill Requirements
- Level of Education & Knowledge (Relevant experience, in some cases, may substitute for a portion or all of the required education):
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years working experience in electrical and/or process instrumentation trades in Chemical or Petrochemical process plant environments. Emphasis to be put on Electrical background with ability to train instrumentation side.

- Completion of a 2-Year technical degree or higher education in Industrial Electrical, Instrumentation, or similar program is preferred.

This position works a 4/10 schedule and must be on call every 3 weeks.

This position is in the Maintenance Department and reports directly to the I&E Manager.
The I& E Technician will interface with the appropriate maintenance and manufacturing resources to diagnose, improve, and resolve instrument and electrical maintenance activities in a safe, responsible, and environmentally sound manner. Technician will ensure that instrument and electrical equipment are repaired and maintained for maximum reliability and in accordance with manufacturer's specifications.

How the Role fits In:
Receive and follow instructions and directions to install, repair, maintain, and adjust indicating, recording, metering, and controlling instruments used to measure and control variables, such as pressure, flow, temperature, motion, force, and chemical composition. Install, repair, maintain, and adjust all types of electrical equipment. All work will be performed through a work order system in a manner that is efficient, safe, and meets quality standards. SHE Stewardship

Assist in identifying and implementing cost reduction ideas to reduce plant expenditures.
Disassemble malfunctioning instruments and examines/test mechanisms and circuitry for defects.
Troubleshoots equipment in or out of control system and replace or repair defective parts.
Reassemble instrument and test assembly for conformance with specifications, using instruments, such as potentiometer, resistance bridge, manometer, and pressure gage, using hand tools.
Inspect instruments periodically and makes minor calibration adjustments to insure functioning within specified standards.
May adjust and repair final control mechanisms, such as automatically controlled valves or positioners.
Inspect, test, adjust and repair electric, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic instruments and systems used to indicate, record, and control operations.
Inspect meters, indicators, and gages to detect abnormal fluctuations.
Test accuracy of flow meters, pressure gages, temperature indicators, controllers, and other recording, indicating, or controlling instruments to locate defective components using test equipment, such as pressure gages, mercury manometers, potentiometers, pulse and signal generators, oscilloscopes, transistor curve tracers, ammeters, voltmeters, and wattmeters.
Trace out and test electronic solid state and vacuum tube circuitry and components to locate defective parts in analog and digital, protection systems, using test equipment, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
Remove defective instruments from system, disassembles, and cleans instruments, and replaces defective parts, using hand tools.
Calibrate readings on instruments according to standards and adjust phasing and align stages to insure accuracy of recording and indicating function.
Record calibrations made, parts and components used, and inventory of parts on hand.
Prepares schematic drawings, sketches, and reports to reflect changes or alterations made in instruments, circuits, and electrical systems.
Locate cable faults, analyze impedance of cable utilizing oscilloscope, signal generator or a time domain reflectometer.
Repair, test and calibrate electronic equipment.
Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, using test equipment, and replace damaged or broken wires and cables, using hand tools.
Install and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications.
Use hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment.
Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as motors, pumps, etc.
Test malfunctioning machinery, using test equipment to diagnose malfunction.
Replace faulty electrical components of machine, such as relays, switches, motors, and position sensing devices using hand tools.
Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair computer cables and equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair fiber-optic cable and alarm system.
Install cable and conduits for telephone system.
Troubleshoot, install, and repair un-interruptible power supplies, P.L.C.s, inverters, frequency drives.
Perform routine/non-routine housekeeping jobs to keep work area clean and safe.

BASIC FUNCTION
The Sr. Production Engineering role oversees operation of Bay 1, Bay 2 or Bay 3 unit at Baystar - Bayport Polymers. The Sr. Production Engineer acts as a lead technical resource for operations personnel, applies technical skills to optimize plant operations, to implement and commission yield improvement and cost saving projects, participates in procedure reviews and development, operator training, and site qualification efforts.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Providing expertise and guidance on how equipment associated to the campaign operates
• Providing expertise and guidance with plant utilities
• Working with the Operations Superintendent, Operations Manager, & Operations Director to provide data and chemical engineering support for specific product campaigns
• Working closely with Technical & Quality personnel to optimize operations and meet plant goals
• Ensure all product specifications are met
• Supervising the processes, ensuring quality work is done in a safe, efficient manner
• Liaising with other engineers to develop plans that improve production, costs, and labor required
• Diagnosing problems in the production process and providing recommendations and training
• Establishing safety procedures and protocols that take the operations personnel well-being into account
• Keeping abreast of advancements in engineering and production, and sharing knowledge
• Identifying, documenting, and reporting unsafe practices
• Drawing up production schedules and budgets for projects
• Scheduling meetings with relevant departments and stakeholders
• Analyzing all facets of production and making recommendations for improvement
• Obtaining any materials and equipment required
• Investigate problems, analyze root causes, and drive solutions
• Diagnose and document root causes of deviations in the unit and improve operating discipline
