An Manufacturing Engineer will possess a strong understanding of manufacturing science, including theory of constraints, capacity planning, and flow optimization. The role involves ensuring that the core infrastructure of the factory can cooperate with the production control and execution systems to meet production needs. This engineer will collect and perform data analysis of tools and dispatching logic to ensure equipment and process flow are running optimally. Role SummaryThe Estimating Manager will prepare cost estimates for competitive bids and negotiated proposals, develop economical construction methods, and provide comprehensive deliverables for major estimates. This role applies JE Dunn processes and tools to develop project estimates, supporting the company's strategy, vision, and values.
Key Responsibilities - Core- Perform quantity surveys of materials shown on project plans.
- Read and outline project specifications.
- Maintain an audit trail of the quantity surveys from estimate to estimate.
- Support vendor/subcontractor pricing and bid solicitation.
- Create relationships with project team members, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
- Gain experience in self-perform estimating and field operations through onsite support.
- Prepare complex cost estimates for bids and proposals.
- Develop and manage scopes of work for all trades.
- Utilize project schedule and logistics knowledge in estimates.
- Collaborate with operations on project logistics, staging, and phasing.
- Provide professional deliverables at each major estimate.
- Mentor and train team members.
- Ability to perform work accurately and timely.
- Effective communication skills, verbal and written.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, and estimating software.
- Ability to read drawings and specifications.
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred; relevant experience considered.
- Minimum of 3 years estimating experience; 5+ years construction experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license; ability to lift up to 10 pounds; willingness to travel and work non-traditional hours.
