Investment Analyst, Investment Management, Equities Strategies WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR: The team is primarily responsible for managing the daily portfolio construction process and related quality assurance of RA’s equity indices and active equity models. The team is also responsible for continuously improving the investment process, collaborating with both equity research and in-house team of software engineers to bring new strategies into production, as well as working with other areas of the firm to support RA’s investment operations. Assist with supporting client related requests, promptly addressing inquiries. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Entry Level - 4 Years Experience Proficiency with Microsoft Excel required. Acute attention to detail and deep curiosity for markets and data required. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Degree in Business/Economics, or Mathematics/Statistics/Engineering preferred. Proficiency in Python preferred. SALARY & BENEFITS: Salary Range: $70,000 - $115,000 + eligible for a discretionary bonus. Base pay will be determined on an individual basis considering such factors as location, qualifications, skills, and experience. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.   • Develop and maintain required Detailed Planning artifacts and manage plan execution
  • Determine project scope and manage scope execution across multiple large projects or medium to large programs where scope is subject to change, contains high complexity and high degree of risk, large number of resources, and complex organizational change issues that support complex enterprise or strategic corporate goals
  • Develop financial forecasts, record cost variance, anticipate and address delivery challenges, and request budget changes if needed following associated Change Request Process
  • Develop high-level milestones during Discovery  and develop detailed project schedules during Detailed Planning
  • Works with a high degree of autonomy to apply industry leading project and program management knowledge to refine the resource plan, develop a RACI Matrix, conduct a Key-Person Risk Assessment, and Third-Party Support Needs Assessment 
  • Ensure early identification, resolution, and escalation of project risks through maintenance of Risk and Issue Log and project Pre-Mortem activity
  • Drives continuous improvement and efficiencies beyond own scope of responsibility

The Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree  or equivalent experience and expertise

The Opportunity

The newly announced Corporate Function Program Management Office (CFPMO) is seeking an experienced project manager to support the stand-up of the new organization supporting Corporate Finance, Enterprise Risk, and Investment Management initiatives. In this role, you will report directly to the Investment Management Portfolio Lead and be accountable for the planning, day-to-day execution, management, implementation and reporting of projects while using the defined project management (PM) processes and standards. The CFPMO PM process is designed to support the CFPMO’s mission to increase the value impact of change efforts across MassMutual’s corporate functions. As an Investment Management Project Manager, you will execute by following a standardized process for project initiation, planning, execution, and close.  Project managers will partner and support project sponsors and portfolio leads in developing required detailed project artifacts tailored to project complexity.

The Team

This portfolio oversees the execution of initiatives across Corporate Finance, Enterprise Risk and Investment Management as well as defines and owns project management standards across the company. The team is focused on driving and aligning critical programs and projects across our Corporate Functions, creating more visibility into this work, while enabling better prioritization, collaboration, and execution.

The Impact:

As the Investment Management Project Manager, you will:

  • Partner with Project Sponsors and Functional Managers to compile Discovery artifacts such as a Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA), Project Charter, high level Resource Plan, and high-level Milestone Plan to be reviewed to receive Discovery Funding
  • Develop and maintain required Detailed Planning artifacts and manage plan execution
  • Determine project scope and manage scope execution across multiple large projects or medium to large programs where scope is subject to change, contains high complexity and high degree of risk, large number of resources, and complex organizational change issues that support complex enterprise or strategic corporate goals
  • Develop financial forecasts, record cost variance, anticipate and address delivery challenges, and request budget changes if needed following associated Change Request Process
  • Develop high-level milestones during Discovery  and develop detailed project schedules during Detailed Planning
  • Works with a high degree of autonomy to apply industry leading project and program management knowledge to refine the resource plan, develop a RACI Matrix, conduct a Key-Person Risk Assessment, and Third-Party Support Needs Assessment 
  • Ensure early identification, resolution, and escalation of project risks through maintenance of Risk and Issue Log and project Pre-Mortem activity
  • Drives continuous improvement and efficiencies beyond own scope of responsibility
  • Accountable for meeting all business requirements from development through implementation

The Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree  or equivalent experience and expertise
  • 8+ years of project management experience
  • 1+ years of experience in project management software including but not limited to MS Project and Jira

The Ideal Qualifications

  • 10+ years of project management experience, 5+ within a PMO
  • 8+ years of experience leading projects impacting core Investment Management and Capital Market systems and business process.
  • Proven success in delivering complex long-term projects on time, within budget, and to scope
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies i.e. Agile or Waterfall
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills

Overview

Wolf and Company is seeking an experienced investment management industry focused Tax Manager to join our tax team. This principal-track position with unlimited growth potential requires a motivated, experienced tax professional with strong interpersonal and management skills. A successful candidate should possess a deep knowledge of federal and state taxation.

Your role will include the following responsibilities which are focused around two core concepts: your technical expertise and your ability to deliver excellent quality client service.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of business clients, primarily S corporations and partnerships in the investment management industry working with hedge funds, private equity funds, venture capital funds, fund-of-funds, funds that invest in digital assets, registered investment advisors, and family offices.
  • Familiarity with taxation of a variety of financial products including equity investments, debt instruments, derivatives, commodities, cryptocurrency, and digital assets.
  • Plan, execute, and deliver innovative federal and state tax planning, consulting and compliance expertise to clients.
  • Review foreign filings including, but not limited to, Forms 5471, 8621, 8858, 8865 and 8938 as well as foreign withholding Forms 1042, 1042-S, 8804, and 8805.
  • Analysis of securities transactions including wash sales, constructive sales, straddles, and qualified dividends.
  • Conduct tax research related to federal and multi-state income taxes, including non-resident withholding and composite tax matters.
  • Ensure complete client satisfaction through open communication, managing expectations, meeting deadlines and proactively sharing tax saving strategies.
  • Work closely with principals and staff on client management, professional development and business development activities.
  • Manage, develop, train and mentor staff including performance and engagement reviews.
Qualifications
  • CPA certification required with 6+ years tax experience.
  • Expertise in S corporations and partnerships, including partnership capital account maintenance and allocations.
  • Strong technical skills pertaining to tax preparation and review, tax compliance, agency correspondence and tax research.
  • Ability to attract and develop profitable, sustainable client relationships.
  • A demonstrated ability to self-direct and effectively organize, prioritize and manage multiple engagements under tight deadlines.
  • Outstanding leadership, mentoring and interpersonal skills fostering client and staff relationships.
