Dallas-based minority newspaper is in need of a part-time, freelance copy editor and page designer. Duties include layout out of a weekly newspaper, prepping editorial copy and photos for publication, and posting the articles to the newspaper's website.
Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop is required. Knowledge of Wordpress and social media and email marketing service platforms is a plus.

Editorial Projects:

· When stories are in the headline related to stories NDG has covered, write a recap and link NDG's story to the updated info.
City Council Meetings
· Attend the Dallas City Council Meetings on Wednesdays at 9 a.m.; story due by 3 p.m. same day.
· The agendas are released a week in advance, on Fridays sent a summary and spotlight at least two topics you believe we should cover. Due to editor by 6 p.m. on Fridays.

The Department of Journalism in the College of Communication, Media, Design and Information (CMDI) at the University of Colorado Boulder invites applications for a tenure-track professor of journalism studies at the assistant rank.
The successful candidate will identify within the broad field of journalism studies, but specialize in, potentially, one of the following areas: media law and ethics; AI and journalism; local, community or rural journalism; new business models in journalism; political communication; broadcast journalism; or visual storytelling.
The successful candidate must be well-grounded in journalism studies and open to creative interchange with colleagues practicing a variety of qualitative, quantitative and practice-based methodologies while researching and teaching journalism and media through both a social science and humanistic approach. They should also have demonstrated commitment to inclusive pedagogies and the mentoring of a diverse range of undergraduate and graduate students. The department prefers candidates with undergraduate-level teaching experience in journalism skills or journalism studies courses. The position is 40% teaching, 40% research, and 20% service and involves teaching two classes per semester.

Department and college/university-level service will be a vital part of this appointment, and we prefer candidates with a proven record of similar service and/or interest in service and leadership.
The successful candidate must be well-grounded in journalism studies and open to creative interchange with colleagues practicing a variety of qualitative, quantitative and practice-based methodologies while researching and teaching journalism and media through both a social science and humanistic approach. They should also have demonstrated commitment to inclusive pedagogies and the mentoring of a diverse range of undergraduate and graduate students. The position is 40% teaching, 40% research, and 20% service and involves teaching two classes per semester.

We provide skills training and unique learning experiences in and out of a college classroom for personal growth and self-empowerment that responds to the student's self-identified needs.
The instructor position reports to the Director of Community Educational Engagement and will plan and teach a modified journalism course, and lead the program's yearbook committee. Please see the descriptions below:
· Plan and implement lessons that offer engaging learning experience based on the course descriptions.
· Ensure hands on activities are incorporated in lessons where appropriate
· Incorporate strategies that help students reach their self-identified goals in your lesson planning
· Adjust lesson planning and instruction based on student feedback and performance as needed
· Participate in meetings and professional development as required
· Ensure a safe classroom environment, where there is mutual respect and student's rights are upheld
· Timely submission of daily attendance using the template provided by the program
· Timely completion and submission of Student Ratings based on attendance records
· Plan and feature a student-centered end of semester project, activity, performance, or presentation during Showcase Week
· Guides undergraduate students as needed who are supporting their classes

Together with your peers you will practice telling the who, what, when, where and why of the story.
