Primary Purpose:

The primary purpose of the Housekeeping Associate is to provide guests with an excellent room experience while providing friendly, attentive, and timely service and through ensuring that guest rooms and public areas meet high standards of cleanliness and are properly presented.

Work Performed:

The Housekeeping Associate will be tasked with the following duties, responsibilities, and assignments:

  • Clean and maintain hotel guest rooms, public areas and laundry within the hotel per established protocols, including but not limited to:

  • Removal of all used and unused linen/terry from room

  • Disinfect all high touch surfaces and unused amenities

  • Clean bathrooms

  • Clean glass and mirrors, dust and polish furniture and equipment

  • Replace burned out light bulbs

  • Remake beds with clean linens

  • Replenish supplies such as drinking glasses, writing supplies and bathroom supplies

  • Empty wastebaskets and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas

  • Clean rugs, carpets upholstered furniture and draperies;

  • Ensure usage of approved cleaning chemicals;

  • Operate, stock and maintain storage closets and room attendant carts to include such items as linens, towels, toiletry items and cleaning supplies;

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areas;

  • Examine and sort articles for laundry according to color, fabric, dirt content, and cleaning technique required;

  • Use laundering equipment and the correct amounts of proper chemicals to safely and thoroughly clean and press linen;

  • Make rounds through the halls each shift to ensure public areas are disinfected, clean and tidy,

  • Uphold departmental standards of quality of work and timing measured by brand customer satisfaction metrics and Atrium labor guidelines;

  • May be required to train newly hired associates and support on-going performance development;

  • Perform work on a deep cleaning and preventative maintenance scheduled program for all areas of the hotel as assigned. Use power equipment when applicable;

  • Observe precautions required to protect hotel and guest property, report damage, theft and found articles to supervisor;

  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures, report equipment problems and maintenance issues, accidents, injuries and safety hazards, or unsafe work conditions to leadership; and

  • Any and all other work as required to complete the primary purpose of the position.

Qualifications:

Preferred Prior Experience:

Previous hotel housekeeping or other applicable cleaning experience

Prior customer service experience

Preferred Education:

High school diploma or equivalent

Physical:

Able to lift a minimum of 50lbs occasionally and 20lbs regularly

Able to bend and squat repeatedly

Able to walk and stand for duration of scheduled shift

Other:

Flexible to work day shifts, early mornings, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays

Overview

Attend to the cleaning process of hotel linens to ensure guests and associates experience a clean hotel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate washing and drying equipment, load, and unload laundry from machines. Measure and administer cleaning agents to laundry according to product specifications.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:
  • Receive, sort and weigh soiled linen; place into appropriate containers.
  • Process sorted linen utilizing the washers, dryers, sheet spreaders, ironers, and feeder/folders ensuring finished- product is inspected and meets quality standards.
  • Turn in all articles found in Laundry Chute/Department to the Supervisor to log in Lost and Found.

  • Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.

The hotel features 334 guestrooms, onsite dining, fitness room, outdoor pool, business center, complimentary High-Speed Internet Access, 24,000 square feet of retail space, 20,000 Square feet of Hotel Meeting and Function Space and an Convention Center with 152,000 square feet of meeting, event and exhibit space.

This position will be an hourly position and will report to the Housekeeping Supervisors & Manager. The Laundry Attendant is responsible for washing, ironing, folding and distributing all soiled linens, towels, napkins and tablecloths

Job Responsibilities:

  • Employees must at all times be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to guests, managers and fellow employees.
  • Understand operation of washing machines and dryers.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute linens and personal clothing.
  • Operate laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain records of laundry activities and report any maintenance or safety issues to the supervisor.
  • Follow infection control and universal precautions policies to ensure a sanitary environment.
  • Interact positively with residents, staff, and guests, providing excellent customer service.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous laundry experience is preferred but not required.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and effectively communicate with building occupants, administration, and HCSG leadership to perform daily tasks.
  • Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies
  • Must be able to lift/carry a maximum of 50 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend and walk for extended periods. 
  • Must be able to work around cleaning products.
  • Able to follow oral and written instructions, and perform routine, repetitive tasks daily.
  • Residency within the service area required

Job Description

This position ensures that all Housekeeping and Food & Beverage Linens are processed in a timely manner meeting the expectations of Omni Hotels & Resorts standards while minimizing as much discarded product as possible.

PAY RATE: $15.00 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Sorting of dirty linen from laundry chute to be processed.

  • Pickup of dirty linen from Food & Beverage Outlets/Banquets

  • Operating all washers, dryers, ironers and towel folders

  • Stacking clean items into laundry bins/trucks to be delivered to the guest room floors or Food & Beverage areas.

  • Operating smaller washers/dryers to process specialty items or special requests for guests.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the department at all times.

  • Adhere by safety and sanitization regulations as instructed by OSHA and the Omni Hotels & Resorts.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to stand in work station for up to 7 hours per shift

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

  • Must be able to push and pull carts up to 250 pounds often throughout the shift.

  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch on a regular basis.

  • Must be able to understand and follow directions in the spoken language of the work area.

  • Must be able to travel to various areas of the hotel to pick/deliver linen items in allotted time provided.

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including day, evening, weekends and holidays.
