The duties include serving as a Senior Logistics Planner Liaison for a designated organization/area of responsibility, coordinating with and advising the Command Planners on the ability to enhance combat readiness through integrated application of existing logistics resources/capabilities, preparing Situation Reports (SITREPS), point papers, trip reports, staff reports, and developing/finalizing Operation Plans, conducting extensive analysis and planning to develop plans and strategies for contingency military actions, operations other than war, and military training exercises, analyzing mission objectives to determine the type and extent of support required, coordinating with functional specialists to ensure adequate provisions for manpower, supplies, equipment, and services to meet specific needs, and evaluating proposed plans for impact and support feasibility.

What does a typical day look like for a Logistics Management Specialist?
The Logistics Management Specialist's day is dynamic. The role involves managing logistics support for military mission readiness, ensuring all materials, resources, and documentation are properly prepared and distributed. The LMS begins by reviewing and responding to customer requests, utilizing the NAVSUP FLC Norfolk administrative library for information retrieval. Throughout the day, the LMS assists in drafting, formatting, and distributing directives, instructions, and other official communications. They also provide technical guidance on data processing systems, manage inventory supplies, and ensure that records are accurately maintained in the RMHUB system. The LMS coordinates with various departments, participates in meetings to assess workload and resource distribution, and acts as a liaison to address issues impacting projects and command operations. The day concludes with ensuring all tasks are completed, resources are ordered as needed, and that all logistical processes are running smoothly to support the overall mission.
What qualifications do you look for?
You might be the person we're looking for if you have:
- Experience: Minimum of seven (7) years of administrative or human resources experience.
- Education: Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
- Security Clearance: Must possess and maintain a minimum SECRET security clearance in accordance with DD254.

The primary purpose of this position is as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) to assist in the technical development and maintenance of the wing's readiness/deployment program and to train reservists in the tasks of this position.

Formulating long-range, emergency, and contingency logistics and mission plans supporting the organization, tenants, operating locations, and all other personnel assigned to or serviced by the organization which assigned.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Conducting periodic and special staff visits throughout the organization; 2) Reviewing policy and regulation concerning supply and maintenance, and; 3) Reviews and analyzes logistical management reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Logistics, Materials, and Supply Chain Management Degrees. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer Service, Problem Solving, Reading Comprehension, Supply Support, Training and Training Support.

- Serving as a Senior Logistics Planner Liaison for a designated organization/area of responsibility.
- Coordinating with and advising the Command Planners on the ability to enhance combat readiness through integrated application of existing logistics resources/capabilities.
- Preparing Situation Reports (SITREPS), point papers, trip reports, staff reports, and developing/finalizing Operation Plans.
