Penske Logistics is seeking a proven leader with relevant experience and skills to join our team of logistics professionals. We are seeking a candidate to provide leadership at one of our warehousing operations.

The Operations Supervisor provides direction at a single location, leading staff to ensure customer requirements are achieved while meeting our Penske goals and objectives.

In this role, Operations Supervisors will be bonus eligible based on their performance and location performance. Operations Supervisor could earn up to 12% of their base for Max Performance.

Position Summary:

Provide operational leadership to individual contributors and hourly workforce to ensure the execution of daily tasks and activities including, loading/unloading of trailers, cross-docking, and customer service operations in a manner consistent with company services and cost objectives. Supervise most processes directly including workforce and equipment scheduling. Responsible for making corrective action and disciplinary decisions up to written warning level. Involved in the hiring process and customer meetings as necessary.

Shift : The hours are Wednesday - Saturday 6:00 am- 4:30 pm. Leadership members are to be present 30 minutes prior to the start of shift and may have to work on off shift as needed. Flexibility required around the peak season, holiday, short staffed, and business needs.

Salary : $54,900-$72,700 per year; In this role, Operations Supervisor will be bonus eligible based on their performance and location performance. Operations Supervisor could earn up to 12% of their base for Max Performance.

Major Responsibilities:

People

•Establish and sustain that all supervisors and associates are trained and competent and understand how their work relates to the customers' business objectives

•Establish and sustain that performance standards are communicated that are specific and measurable

•Interview hourly associates and provide recommendations for hire

•Monitor attendance, productivity, and other performance standards and provide coaching and counseling to associates

•Motivate and engage associates by focusing on team accomplishments and recognition

Operations

•Supervise logistics operations including customer service, freight loading and unloading, dispatch and proper documentation and procedure control

•Conduct team meetings

•Evaluate and recommend changes in preferred work methods to increase productivity of warehouse operations. Assist in new associate training

•Provide relief coverage for operational duties when associates utilize time-off or are absent from the shift

•Have a thorough working knowledge of the site's operating systems in order to ensure operational compliance and correct exception resolution

•Complete all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion

Finance

•Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures such as, inventory accuracy and control, returns, damages, etc.

•Understand the relationship between decision-making and profitability

•Closely manage associates' working hours and activities to minimize overtime and to meet or exceed productivity targets

Safety

•Ensure day-to-day management and associate activities are in alignment with the location safety strategy

•Provide associates with communication, training, feedback, and direction to ensure safe performance

•Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies and company policies and procedures

•Conduct safety observations

Growth/Customer Experience

•Understand the location-specific customer goals & objectives and work to meet and exceed these expectations daily

•Ensure the customer knows that we are committed to helping them meet their objectives

•Determine areas that could benefit from Continuous Improvement efforts

Fleet/Assets

•Properly plan work assignments to ensure effective use of warehouse equipment

•Work with hourly associates to ensure they understand safe and efficient operation of equipment

•Work with vendors to ensure equipment is maintained

•Other projects and tasks as assigned by the manager

Qualifications

Qualifications:

•2 - 4 years related functional experience

•High School Diploma or equivalent required

•Bachelor's Degree preferred

•Strong written/oral communication skills and the ability to actively listen are required

•Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required

•Must demonstrate ownership & responsibility to run the operation with a sense of urgency

•Must have ability to connect and build rapport/relationships with associates and external customers at all levels

•Must have ability to work efficiently with time management and organizational skills

•Ability to manage through a problem and think and make decisions independently

•Ability to drive process improvement and lead change

•Experience with inventory management system preferred

•Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job

The Warehouse Operations Supervisor is responsible for the efficient day-to-day operation of the warehouse with particular emphasis on supervising warehouse personnel and achieving daily production goals.

Responsibilities:

Operations Management

    • Develops and implements shipping and receiving work schedules and assignments to assure effective and efficient operations to meet goals
    • Provides direct supervision to warehouse personnel matching skill and background of personnel to work required.
    • Supervises all inbound and outbound shipments to ensure they are correct and carried out in a timely fashion
    • Ensures that equipment is utilized in the most efficient manner
    • Coordinates the maintenance of equipment with management
    • Reviews the daily work objective and determines productivity requirements to produce during the shift to meet the overall building objectives
    • Partners with other leaders to balance labor ensuring appropriate levels of staffing
    • Drafts and submits daily end of shift report
    • Makes recommendations to management on initiatives and programs to improve operations and works on those programs

Employee Relations/Development

    • Conducts the daily pre-shift meetings covering previous shifts productivity, operational problems, forecasting workload and any other pertinent company information
    • Assists in developing a program to train and motivate personnel for increased effectiveness
    • Assists in developing a program for all new personnel and ensures the onboarding program is followed
    • Manages and maintains good human resources practices with direct reports, and adherence to established corporate and department policies and procedures
    • Works with Management and Human Resources to resolve employee relation issues, discipline actions, problem resolution and terminations
    • Provides feedback, coaching, guidance, and recognition to enhance personnels skill development
    • Plays an active role in employee development and talent selection.
    • Provides regular coaching and constructive feedback on performance, prepares and delivers hourly performance reviews
    • Maintains accurate timekeeping records
    • Exhibits a commitment to self-development by staying current on information, tools, and systems
    • Travels to other warehouses and participates in department or company meetings, as necessary

Safety and Security

  • Ensures the safe, clean and efficient operation of the warehouse to meet service standards
  • Supports all safety programs and OSHA compliance to ensure a safe work environment for all employees
  • Follows documented processes for reporting, analyzing, and following up on employee injuries and accidents.
  • Ensures employees complete a daily pre-flight and reviews daily
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field, or at least 1-5 years of supervisory experience
  • High School Diploma required
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (Manhattan preferred)
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, quickly changing environment.
  • Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations
  • Experience with seasonal work forces is a plus, but not required.
  • Experience with or desire to learn performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean/Six Sigma tools.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Working knowledge of warehouse / mechanical equipment
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, HAZMAT, FDA regulations and the willingness to become certified in one or more of these areas as necessary

The wage range for this position is $58,000 to $62,000 per year, with the actual pay dependent on your skills and experience as they relate to the job requirements and the location where you will be performing the job.

**You Will:**
Under direction from the Operations Manager or Assistant Operations Manager, organizes the mail flow on the production floor by assigning workers and assessing volumes and type of mail based on current staffing levels to meet postal deadlines.
+ Responsible for overseeing the production workers on designated shift. **Your Background:**

Job Summary

The Supervisor, Warehouse Operations supervises a team of Inbound/Outbound Associates and ensures that pick, pack, and ship operations (Outbound) or receiving, replenishment, put away and returns (Inbound) are safe, efficient, and of high quality. With responsibility for first or second shift, the Supervisor continually monitors efficiency and quality metrics, assigns work and provides coaching to supervised staff, and addresses a variety of operational issues. The Supervisor directly contributes to Cardinal Health's customer service reputation by ensuring that shipments are on-time and of high quality, develops the Warehouse Operations talent pool, and enhances operational excellence.

The Consumer Health Logistics Center (CHLC) will be Cardinal Health's newest Pharmaceutical Supply Chain operation in Groveport, Ohio. Location/Shift
  • This position will be an on-site position (5 days per week), based out of the Consumer Health Logistics Center
  • Second Shift: Monday - Friday, 3:00pm - 11:30pm
Responsibilities
  • Recruit, select, train, manage and evaluate a team of warehouse associates to achieve timely distribution and receipt of products and motivate employees to ensure that predetermined productivity and quality standards including cycle times, lines per hour, shortages, damaged units, missed dispatches, and missed scans, among others are achieved.
  • Monitor site productivity standards and hold associates accountable to daily, weekly, monthly metrics; provide timely feedback and initiate corrective action process when needed.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement projects and initiatives (ex. Gemba walks, Kaizen workshops, takt boards, etc.).
  • Perform daily scheduling of the work force to ensure proper staffing to select, replenish, restock, locate and ship merchandise in a productive and cost-efficient manner.
  • Coordinate maintenance of equipment, guiding both preventive maintenance and coordinating all necessary repairs.
  • Active engagement in employee development, which includes training, coaching, counseling, and performance appraisals.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports, as necessary using Excel (or any other necessary programs).
  • Hold staff accountable for conducting work in a safe manner while enforcing Cardinal Health compliance and regulations concerning OSHA, DEA, FDA, State and local authorities.
  • Enforces Cardinal Health compliance and regulations for OSHA, DEA, FDA, state and local authorities, primary facility contact for QRA compliance.
  • Assist with EHS audits, conduct Job Safety Observations (JSO), properly record and manage safety incidents, monitor employee safety behaviors/practices and provide feedback.
  • Assist with QRA audits and QRA non-conformance issues to properly address, conduct housekeeping observations and ensure employees complete required QRA training and documentation.
  • Participate in, and coordinate, ongoing training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.

  • Champion innovation, simplification, and standardization of current solution offerings, operating procedures, methodologies, and processes.
Qualifications
