What you'll do at

As a Power Equipment Operator at Walmart Supply Chain, you will be operating power equipment to move product through the Distribution network to the Stores to service our Customers. Your role is critical to providing our customers with the product they expect at an everyday low price.

You can expect the work to be very physically demanding with an extremely high focus on your safety and the safety of others. You will be driving power equipment and lifting heavy cases in extreme climates. Duties and Responsibilities

Powered Equipment Operations
  • Transports freight, pulls merchandise, replaces freight, fills daily orders, and controls freight flow when operating moving equipment in a safe and correct manner.
  • Transports and delivers freight to appropriate areas of the facility in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Tells management about unsafe working conditions, damaged products, or improper procedures in the facility.
  • Operates moving equipment in a safe and correct manner.
  • Maintains a clean work environment to ensure safety and compliance.

Yard Driver (On Property)
  • Drives tractor/trailers in a safe and correct manner by adhering to all regulations (e.g., company, local, state and federal). Transports trailers to appropriate destinations (on the facility property Only) in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Tells management about unsafe working conditions, damaged products, or improper procedures.
  • Operates tractor/trailer in a safe and correct manner.
  • Maintains a clean work environment to ensure safety and compliance.

Shift schedule/hours:

  • A: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Saturday 7:00am-7:00pm
  • B: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Saturday 7:00pm-7:00am
  • C: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and every other Saturday 7:00am-7:00pm
  • D: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and every other Saturday 7:00pm-7:00am


Compensation:

  • Starting wage from $18.00 - $1.00, dependent upon experience
  • Night shift differential: 2.50

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
You will be responsible for the operation and output of assigned production lines which include but are not limited to:

  • Performs duties in a manner that adheres to safety policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the training curriculum as an operator learning aspects of plastic extrusion line operations while completing assigned duties required for certification
  • Change plastic extruding machine, set up according to production line changes following specifications on work orders, and examine products for nonconformance to specifications
  • Responsible for monitoring quality and accuracy of the line and scrap
  • Perform housekeeping and preventative maintenance tasks as required to maintain equipment
  • Set up plastic extrusion machines (shut-down, start-up, switchovers, order preparation, and production, of plastic extrusion lines).
  • Responsible for raw materials (resin) by keeping extruder fed with resin mixture
  • Maintain good interaction and teamwork with supervisor and co-workers
  • Give assistance to co-workers to expedite changeovers

OUR SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ensure that safety and health concerns are given primary consideration in all activities
  • Follows company guidelines and actively participates in all safety processes
  • Carry out job/area specific housekeeping duties and maintain a high standard of professionalism
  • Look for, report, and correct any near misses/unsafe conditions or behaviors as soon as possible
  • Produce quality materials to be distributed to customers
  • Maintain production volume and efficiency
  • Identify needed changes and make recommendations - find a better way
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues, requesting supervisor assistance when needed

OUR BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-5 years of plastic extrusion experience preferred
  • Ability to work with measuring tools such as tape measure, calipers, etc.
  • Solid technical/mechanical aptitude
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, pull and lift throughout a 12- hour period. (Our lift limit is 65lbs)
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • Focus on safety and quality production
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Strong communication skills
  • Positive attitude and a willingness to learn

Physical Work and Work Environment:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand most of their 12-hour shift on a cement production floor. The team member frequently is required to use arms to reach and hands to handle or feel. The team member must repetitively lift and/or move up to 65 pounds. Must be able to routinely climb stairs and work safely around numerous hot surfaces and rotating equipment.
  • Team members are also required to frequently talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Team members in this role are exposed to seasonal temperature/humidity changes that can be near 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

The Packaging Machine Operator A (PMO A) position is responsible for the operation of assigned packaging equipment while meeting and exceeding all safety, quality, and efficiency standards.

Must inspect settings for codes, dates, leaks, oxygen levels, and seals to ensure proper operation of all the packaging equipment.


Job Function Statements - Essential Functions:

  • Responsible to operate all packaging machines efficiently
  • Support with on the floor training
  • Conduct with packaging technician on testing new products
  • Routinely solicits input & improves the process
  • Assist other PMOs with their lines
  • Abilities to make improvements to the process
  • Responsible to set up & achieve 100% startup of packaging machine with no guidance
  • Assures Quality products are being produced
  • Communicate and direct members (i.e., packers)
  • Finalize all required documentation
  • Maintain completing Clean, Inspect, Lubricate process
  • Interconnect well in one-on-one reviews
  • Conduct maintenance with mechanical troubleshooting
  • Successfully pass machine operator training classes in accordance with the Continuous Skills Development Program
  • Works safely and follows all basic safety rules to help prevent accidents
  • Successfully pass Safety Training provided by the Continuous Skills Development Program

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills


Other Desired Qualifications/Skills:

  • Stand for the duration of the shift (8 hours or more), perform repetitive motions throughout the shift such as push/pull/lift, twist, stoop, and bend continuously through the shift
  • Climb stairs or step up onto a platform several times throughout the shift.
  • Work in a noisy, wet, and cold environment of approximately 34 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Work 6 or more consecutive days including overtime, any shift, late nights, weekends, and holidays if necessary.

General Summary:

Best Maid Products is in need of a self-motivated team player to join our team as a Machine Operator. Prior experience successfully operating industrial food production machinery is required to be considered for this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Required to obey all OSHA, FDA, HACCP, and plant regulations/guidelines.

· Responsible for adjusting applicable machine settings to the correct speeds based on the scheduled product that is being run.

· May be responsible for adjusting various settings to accommodate different sizes depending on the machine.

· Required to complete all work according to the established procedures and standards.

· Accountable for following instructions and production schedules as outlined by upper management with minimal supervision

· Responsible for troubleshooting various machines to assist the maintenance team with diagnosing issues that arise.

· Required to fill out necessary production paperwork accurately and thoroughly as applicable.

· Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

· Basic computer skills

· Experience with case packers, cappers, labelers, and palletizers preferred.

· Must be able to read and understand written instructions.

· Experience with troubleshooting industrial machinery is required for this role.

· Existing knowledge of Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices is preferred.

· Able to work overtime and weekends.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $14.00 per hour
