Lewis Bakeries located in Murfreesboro, TN is looking to fill several Full Time, open positions at our bakery!
As a General Helper, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the continual running of machines and equipment, while also adhering to workplace safety, food safety and product quality guidelines.
- Full-Time with requiredOvertime !
- Starting wages as of 5/1/23begin at $20.76/hr , with annual increases and shift premiums!
- $strong>500 Quarterly Attendance Bonus

- We work 24 hours,6 days a week includingevery Saturday and Sunday . Shifts are10-12 hrs. YouMUST be able to work any shift available and be on a rotating shift until either placed on an open job/shift once qualified or when seniority grants a preferred shift.
Requirements:
- Physical requirements include repetitive lifting/stacking up to 25lbs overhead , pushing/pulling heavy carts of materials, lifting 50lbs of ingredients and other physical labor as needed.
Must be able towork in extreme hot or cold conditions as some areas of the plant can be hotter than others, especially in the Summer.

Responsible for maintaining and operating machinery, including conventional, special purpose, and computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Includes grinders, drills, and presses.
**Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities**
+ Operates assigned machines, including resistance welding, brake presses, and mechanical power presses. Operates saws, drills, and grinders. Consistently meets production requirements.
+ Maintains clean and safe work area.
+ Packing finished materials into dunnage and also loading and unloading.
+ Checks that the finished workpiece conforms to the specifications.
+ Completes documentation correctly for process monitors and production tickets.
+ Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions and also may fix issues that might occur during the shift.
**Nature and Scope**
+ Selects correct processes from clearly prescribed rules, past practices, or instruction. Seeks advice and guidance on non-routine or problem areas from supervisor. Deviations from the norm are cleared by the supervisor.
+ Under close supervision, exercises limited latitude/independent judgment. Work typically involves detailed checks or close review of output by a senior coworker and/or supervisor.
+ None.
**Work Environment**
+ Typically located in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors that may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness, such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes.
+ Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, and maneuvering material or equipment that may be heavy (50+ pounds) or awkward.
+ No travel required.
**Education and Experience**
+ HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred. 0-2 years of experience in area of responsibility.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Ability to read and understand all safety operating procedures and to use all safety features and equipment.
+ Ability to use basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplying, dividing, counting and the use of tape measure.
+ 1 to 3 years' related experience.
