We’re looking for a self-driven, resourceful, and disciplined Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of utility-scale wind projects across the U.S. This is a high-impact, growth-oriented role designed to develop future project leaders. You’ll be part of a team that partners with top energy clients nationwide to build a more sustainable future—one project at a time.
Working directly onsite, you’ll collaborate with field teams, subcontractors, and senior leadership to ensure projects are executed safely, on time, and within budget. You’ll play a critical role in managing day-to-day operations, tracking progress, and solving problems in real time—while learning the full project lifecycle from pre-construction through close-out.
Location & Travel Details: You’ll get the opportunity to travel across the US, helping our team build renewable projects. This is a traveling position (up to 100%), where you will be onsite at a project location. You have the potential to be placed on a project site located in any state throughout the US. You’ll spend 8-16 months on average per project. We offer designated daily per diem in addition to base pay to support and help you cover living expenses. A vehicle allowance will be provided. Our company has one of the industry leading rotational programs as well, with routine travel home from the jobsite.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate engineering studies

- Review subcontractor's application for payment based on percent complete and approve or adjust

- Initiate and execute all monthly progress payments to the Owner
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of five years of Solar or EPC construction industry experience/knowledge of construction techniques, estimating and construction management
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Managing and serving as the lead Project Manager on water/wastewater projects
• Providing technical guidance, senior leadership, and mentoring engineering staff to enhance our water/wastewater design capabilities
• Being responsible for scope, schedule, budget development, monitoring and adherence for projects managed
• Completing Quality Assurance/Quality Control of key deliverables and assisting on projects managed by others in the office
• Assisting Client Service Leaders with technical marketing for clients throughout the U.S.
• Participating in professional societies relevant to the industry.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree
• 10 years of related experience
• PMP (PMI), CCM or DBIA certification is required (within 12 months of hire or promotion onto the Approved Project Manager list)
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands
Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Professional engineering (PE) license, strongly preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or chemical engineering, or related degree.
• Previous experience working on and managing projects for Industrial water/water reuse/wastewater clients.
• Previous experience managing multi-discipline project teams.
• Excellent communication, networking and team building skills.
• Previous experience working directly with clients
• Master’s degree.
• Previous business development experience including preparation of proposals and scopes of work and costs estimates for industrial clients

Additional Compensation:
All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.

Assist ASUTRCC Director as liaison to students, parents, and participating high school administrators and staff members.
• Distribute, process, and maintain student applications and enrollment-related documentation through ASUTRCC based database. Coordinate with ASUTR Student Affairs to ensure all requirements of concurrent credit are submitted in a timely manner.
• Communicate with school districts about student success, attendance, grades, and disciplinary issues.
• Assist in coordinating all SkillsUSA activities with career center officers, advisors, sending schools, the Director, and state and national officials.
• Assist in the organization and logistical planning of recruiting, field trips, event set-up, student organizational functions, tours, and other center-related activities.
• Provide faculty support and classroom management during classroom sessions and when faculty are off campus or out for personal reasons.
• Assist Director in conducted team meetings and training faculty members in classroom management and college processes.
• Coordinate with director for annual budget recommendations.
• Assist Director in the processing of purchase requests, purchase orders.
