We are looking for a research scientist to join our team to train AI models. You will measure the progress of these AI chatbots, evaluate their logic, and solve problems to improve the quality of each model.

In this role you will need to hold an expert understanding of chemistry- a completed or in progress Masters/PhD is preferred but not required. Other related fields include, but are not limited to: Research and Development Chemist, Formulation Scientist, Development Chemist, Analytical Chemist, Chemical Engineer, Medicinal Chemist, Biochemist, Process Development Chemist.

The FQA function ensures that PK products meet the performance and quality criteria as represented to the customer. The IQA function ensures that materials purchased by PK meet the specifications against which the products were purchased. FQA DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accurately inspect, test, and check inventory of all products to be shipped to ensure conformance with required specifications and standards.
  • Generate required calibration certificates and associated documentation.
  • Ensure that all shippable items are present before releasing the product for shipment.
  • Perform Performance Assurance testing of PK products.
  • Generate and archive any required quality documentation.

IQA DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inspect selected problematic incoming materials.
  • Accurately inspect, test, and verify, mechanically, electronically, and visually incoming parts, products, and materials to ensure conformance with PK engineering drawings, specifications, and standards.
  • Generate clear and understandable Discrepant Material Reports.
  • Gather data and keep accurate records of inspection results.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attention to detail is required. Accuracy is paramount: The effects of errors could have a significant impact on customer relationships, and on meeting production and design engineering schedules.
  • Write and update/maintain Work Instructions.

Mechanical test equipment includes micrometers, dial calipers, height gages, comparators, and related equipment. Electrical test equipment includes voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, capacitance meters, inductance meters and related equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret dimensional and pictorial requirements from drawings. Ability to read engineering blueprints.
  • Perform work standing 50% of the time, may lift up to 40 lbs. without assistance, and occasionally up to 80 lbs. with assistance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • As a subject matter expert, works closely with all Quality and Shop Operations employees to provide recommendations, information, training and mentoring regarding matters pertaining to regulations, policies, plans, objectives, and actions to preserve the integrity of the Production, Repair Station Certificates and Air Carrier Certificates including inspection, processes, and issue identification and resolutions.
  • Works closely with Hangar Ops, Operator Quality, Production Control, and External MRO to ensure maintenance and repair work are performed in accordance with applicable customer requirements, company policy and regulatory agencies. Activities include, but are not limited to: auditing maintenance work record documentation to ensure accuracy to work scope, defined process and applicable regulations; auditing and updating specific aircraft records to verify work performed; and certifying maintenance and airworthiness release on aircraft, engines, and articles.
  • Maintains the credibility of the Quality system by making sound decisions that are supported by the Quality Control Manager; provides solution-oriented assistance to other teams and employees; and provides mentoring and training of Final Inspection candidates and other repair station personnel.
  • Certify that the maintenance and airworthiness release on aircraft, engines and aircraft articles has been performed per customer and FAA certificate requirements. This is the final inspection.
  • Supports the Quality department by developing the scope, schedule, plans and audits the Quality system by applying knowledge of FAA regulations, Columbia Helicopters Quality Management System, ISO9000 and AS9100/AS9110 and QE-STD-2
  • Performs receiving, hidden damage, preliminary, in-process, and final inspections of aircraft and articles to ensure work performed meets quality and airworthiness standards.
  • Utilizes problem-solving techniques to address issues and suggest changes, improvements, or updates to procedures related to Columbia's Quality Management System
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years commercial rotorcraft maintenance experience required; Tandem rotor airframe experience preferred.
  • Additional experience in component overhaul and previous training and experience performing detailed inspection functions preferred.
  • Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license preferred.
  • Meets requirements of (14 CFR, 145.155); appropriately certified per (14 CFR, 65.71).
  • Must have or the ability to obtain maintenance release as applicable and MRO inspection authorizations as necessary.
  • Thorough knowledge and ability to apply knowledge of quality systems such as: International Organization for Standardization (ISO9001), Aerospace Standard (AS9100/AS9110), FAA regulations (14 CFRs 21, 27, 39, 43, 65, 91, 129, 133, 135, 145), AMCOM 702-7, and Columbia Helicopters Quality Management System (QMS) is required for internal applicants.
  • Systems experience and understanding of the Columbia 107, Columbia 234 and like military aircraft is preferred.
  • Ability to collect, organize, synthesize and analyze data; prepare metrics to summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources including, but not limited to, federal regulations, company policy, and customer requirements.
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply various technical data such as prints, specifications, and aircraft manuals, as well as use specialized inspection and hand tools.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, create focus in areas of poor scope definition or where there are issues, and be solution oriented but committed to consistency and process.

A pioneering manufacturing firm in Portland, Oregon, US , specializing in high-precision engineered components, is seeking an experienced Senior Quality Control Engineer to join their dedicated team. This critical role will be instrumental in ensuring the adherence to stringent quality standards throughout the entire manufacturing process, from raw material inspection to final product validation. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of quality management systems, statistical process control (SPC), and various inspection methodologies. Responsibilities include developing and implementing quality control plans, establishing inspection criteria, calibrating testing equipment, analyzing quality data, identifying root causes of defects, and implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). You will lead quality improvement projects, conduct internal audits, train quality inspectors, and collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues efficiently. Experience with ISO 9001 or AS9100 standards is highly preferred. The successful applicant will be adept at using metrology equipment and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
