  • Lead and support the launch of new production lines, including layout planning, equipment installation, validation, and process documentation.

  • Specify, procure, and commission production and assembly equipment, including injection molding machines , automated assembly systems, and robotic integration.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., plant operations, maintenance, R&D, quality) to ensure launch timelines and quality targets are met.

Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement

  • Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify and implement improvements in cycle time, throughput, cost, and quality.

  • Apply lean manufacturing principles (5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma, etc.) to reduce waste and enhance operational efficiency.

  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and PFMEAs.

Injection Molding & Assembly

  • Troubleshoot and optimize injection molding processes, including material flow, tooling performance, cooling strategies, and part quality.

  • Develop and support assembly processes for automotive components, ensuring robust and repeatable operations.

Quality & Compliance

  • Partner with Quality Engineers to ensure manufacturing processes meet automotive standards (e.g., IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP).

  • Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for non-conformances using structured problem-solving tools (e.g., 8D, Fishbone, 5-Why).

  • Conduct capability studies and participate in audits (internal and external).

Cross-Functional Engineering Collaboration

  • Work closely with R&D and product engineering teams to ensure manufacturability of new designs (DFM/DFA).

  • Provide feedback on part design for injection molded and assembled components to ensure cost-effective production feasibility.

  • Support prototype builds and transition to full-scale production.

Cost Analysis & Efficiency

  • Analyze manufacturing cost structures and identify areas for cost reduction (materials, labor, equipment utilization).

  • Evaluate supplier processes and support sourcing decisions for tooling and automation.

  • Support capital investment planning and justification (ROI analysis).

Qualifications & Skills

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role within an automotive production environment.

  • Hands-on experience with injection molding automated assembly , and robotic systems .

  • Demonstrated experience supporting or leading new production line launches  or plant startups.

  • Proficient in lean manufacturing tools and techniques (5S, value stream mapping, SMED, etc.).

  • Working knowledge of quality tools and automotive standards (e.g., IATF 16949, PPAP, APQP, FMEA).

  • Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Preferred:

  • 5+ years of experience, with Tier 1 or OEM supplier background.

  • Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), HMI interfaces, and production monitoring systems.

  • Knowledge of plastic part design and mold/tooling concepts.

  • Familiarity with ERP or MES systems.

  • Fluency in Mandarin or familiarity with Chinese manufacturing culture (a plus for multinational team coordination).

Working Environment & Travel

  • On-site role within a plant production environment , requiring frequent interaction with shop floor personnel, equipment vendors, and engineering teams.

  • Occasional domestic and international travel (<10%) may be required for supplier visits, equipment sourcing, or global team support.

What We Offer

  • A fast-paced, startup-style work environment with high visibility and impact.

  • Opportunities to grow with a new and expanding production operation.

  • Collaborative and entrepreneurial company culture.

  • Competitive salary, performance incentives, and comprehensive benefits.
