Georgia-Pacific's Consumer Products division is searching for a Manufacturing Manager interested in facilitating continuous improvement and leadership for a dynamic team at our paper mill located in Camas, Washington. This position will report to the VP-Manufacturing/Mill Manager and will be responsible for managing roughly 150 employees (salaried and hourly) supporting operations and maintenance of a paper machine, 5 converting lines, and utilities.

The Camas Mill is located along the Columbia River in the heart of historic Camas, Washington across from Portland, Oregon and in the shadow of Mt. Hood. What You Will Do

  • Effectively lead, mentor, supervise, coach and develop salaried employees utilizing the PBM Guiding Principles and Operations Excellence tools to improve capability and performance
  • Lead the site operations and maintenance organizations to achieve a safety and environmental incident free workplace identifying critical hazards and mitigating the risk based on criticality
  • Lead the team to ensure production targets are achieved
  • Understanding and owning the financial performance of the site and institute continuous improvement efforts to improve cost competitiveness
  • Leveraging capability support group leaders (i.e., HR, EHS, Remote Teams, Quality, Maintenance, Process Control, Purchasing, Finance, Engineering, Environmental, Learning & Development, etc.) through preferred partnerships
  • Empowering culture change through discipline operations and capability improvement to drive performance in measurements tied to Key Performance Indicators (KPI's)
  • Providing leadership consistent with our Principle Based Management guiding principles to facilitate the development of the knowledge and skills of self, salaried, and hourly employees to improve operational performance of the facility

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience supervising and developing people leaders within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience driving process transformation and delivering measurable results in a manufacturing environment

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience leading product stream(s) in a paper, packaging, food manufacturing, or other related manufacturing capacity
  • Experience developing asset strategies and applying reliability concepts

For this role, we anticipate paying $150,000 - $170,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.

The Scheduler is responsible for managing the scheduling process for hourly union employees in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. This role ensures smooth daily operations through effective workforce allocation, vacation and job bid planning, training coordination, and system accuracy. The Scheduler also acts as a key liaison between operations, HR, and payroll, while maintaining positive labor relations.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage daily, weekly, and weekend schedules using Kronos or similar systems.
    • Coordinate vacation scheduling and job bidding processes in compliance with union agreements.
    • Oversee daily labor allocation, overtime assignments, and schedule updates.
    • Support training plans by managing certification records and tracking trainee progress.
    • Serve as point of contact for payroll coding, timecard adjustments, and FMLA tracking.
    • Maintain and update employee preference data, labor blueprints, and schedule documentation.
    • Liaise with union representatives and operations leadership to address workforce needs and labor relations matters.
    • Drive continuous improvement in scheduling accuracy, process efficiency, and system use.
    • Assist in troubleshooting system issues, implementing changes, and supporting platform validation activities.

Qualifications:

    • High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or Business Administration preferred.
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment; union labor management is a plus.
    • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, TPM, or Continuous Improvement tools (e.g., Root Cause Analysis, Breakdown Elimination).
    • Strong communication, coaching, and change management skills.
    • Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
    • Proficient in workforce planning tools such as Kronos and Excel.
    • Ability to work collaboratively across functions with strong interpersonal skills.
    • Willingness to support a 24-hour operation and respond to shift needs as required.

Work schedule:

Salray range:

  • The anticipated base salary range for this position is $65,000 to $73,000; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.

In this role, you'll be working with a team of dedicated professionals to produce custom oligonucleotide products. **Responsibilities:**
+ Manufacture high-quality custom oligo-containing products in a high-throughput manufacturing lab according to established SOPs.
+ Operate robotic laboratory equipment and traditional lab equipment (bioanalyzers, centrifuges, sealers, thermocyclers, spectrometers, HPLCs, Next Gen Sequencing, etc.).
+ Utilize traditional molecular biology processes and techniques, especially PCR, DNA quantitation and handling, and DNA purification.
+ Maintain thorough, accurate, and detailed documentation of all work produced in batch records, databases, or other acceptable formats, including problems and deviations.
+ Update and write work instructions and documentation.
+ Work independently and maintain safety standards.
+ Ensure attention to detail for process consistency.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the site operations and maintenance organizations to achieve a safety and environmental incident free workplace identifying critical hazards and mitigating the risk based on criticality
  • Lead the team to ensure production targets are achieved
